  1. As far as I know it is original. My aunt and uncle who were huge high end collectors for 50 years gave us these units as they are downsizing and selling off everything.
  2. Hi Jimjimbo, I hear ya, but don't have the right room (or the budget) for the La Scalas, Cornwalls, or the Klipschhorns... wish I did.
  3. Thinking about pairing Klipsch RP-8000F II speakers with my 1960 Marantz 8B Tube Amp, I would appreciate feedback on using this amp with these new/modern speakers. Please take a look at the specs on the Marantz amp here. Would appreciate your feedback. http://www.classic-audio.com/marantz/0008b.html chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.thetubestore.com/lib/thetubestore/schematics/Marantz/Marantz-8-B-Owners-Manual.pdf
  4. These sounded OK when I listened to them, unfortunately listening area was terrible. Thinking of listening to a new pair of RP-8000F II
  5. Hi, I have acquired the following Marantz components and need to buy speakers (new or used) in the $1000-$2000 range for a medium sized room. We currently have a pair of RP-160M speakers hooked up to another system and was considering using these with the Marantz components but have heard such great reviews of the Hersey, Forte, and Cornwalls that I would love to try to find a pair of used ones. If I went with a new pair of Klipsch speakers what would you all suggest. Keep in mine of the $1000-$2000 budget and the specs on the old 8B amp Marantz 8B Amp. (https://stereonomono.blogspot.com/2010/12/marantz-8b-1962.html) Marantz 7 Preamp Marantz 10B Tuner + Need to buy a device to stream Apple Music, and my stored digital collection. Thanks
  6. Hello, I'm thinking of getting these speakers at a local consignment shop and wanted to ask if anyone could give me any additional info based off of the product label. Here is what the seller is saying: "Klipsch Heresy H-700 Speakers Pair From ORIGINAL OWNER w/ registration cards showing sequential serial numbers. Oiled Walnut. 3rd digit in serial# is a 'P' so I am guessing 1980. Tested and sounding great. If you want to upgrade the crossovers it's an easy plug and play from Crites https://critesspeakers.com/ I did it to a pair of Quartets and it was worth the time and effort." Asking $850 I'd be hooking these up to a Marantz 8B amp, 10B Tuner, and a 7 Preamp.
