  1. Is it ok to delete all .dat files or are there some required by your computer to operate properly? Thanks, RIGGED
  2. Congrats on your speaks-they rock! RIGGED
  3. Thanks for having us over Dave, it was a great experience and your hospitality was second to none. Next time, I'll make sure to have more grains of sand in the top half of the hourglass. BTW, my hearing has improved-the KHorns blew the wax right out of them. lol My first Khorn experience was a memorable one-thanks Dave. Now I'm on the hunt again.... RIGGED
  4. RIGGED and his older brother will arrive soon..........can't stay too long though. RIGGED
  5. Dave, I will try to make is Saturday-I've always wanted to hear the mighty Klipschorn in action. What time will the festivities commence? RIGGED
  6. Everything is back to normal here in good old Alvin,Tx. They finally removed the tons of dead trees from our street-revealed patches of dead grass it did. I don't regret tuffin it out, even though there were a few hairy moments, it was worth it. The wind made strange noises as it made its way through-our favorite tree fought the good fight but sadly, lost the battle. Being sans power for 9 days was worse than the actual storm itself. Perhaps I should have not yelled >>> Is that all you've got Ike? You're Rita's bit** boy! lol RIGGED
  7. http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/09/the_short_but_eventful_life_of.html Not sure if this has been posted here. RIGGED
  8. Dave, I lost power at 8:30pm(shortly after that post) and have been sans since. Yea, I bought a case and toasted the Ikester all night long-a long night it was eh? I finally broke down and purchased a generator from Sam's off of 45 and El Dorado. I didn't see your post regarding the Frazier/Klipschorn but I'll look for it. RIGGED
  9. I'm in Alvin Tx, 26 miles North of Galveston and Ike is already making his presence known. Not a lot of rain at this moment, just the occasional wind gusts. Got me a case of Corona and I've elevated my "kids" 3ft above ground level-yea, I'm ready. RIGGED
  10. Greetings all, Does anyone know how to transfer DVD video to an Ipod? I tried to import file/folder and that didn't work. I looked online and had no luck. Thanks, RIGGED
  11. Here is yet another example of the no respect the lil ol Heresy speakers get. 150 clams for what appears to be Heresy I's in good shape. 2 Klipsch - $75 each http://dallas.craigslist.org/ele/722192276.html RIGGED
  12. Thoughts on tubes on this forum doubt it. There may have been one or two thoughts on tubes over the years![] There are a lot of forum members that know quite a bit about tubes and tube gear. Can you give more specific questions on tubes. Do you mean just the tubes or tube gear? If tube gear what's your budget? Cornwalls are great speakers!! Congrats! Tube gear. Over the years I've heard of a few audio arguements-tube gear vs solid state, vinyl vs cd, equalizer vs no equalizer, and the tone control flat position. I've also heard that McIntosh equipment brings the best out of Klipsch speakers. What's amazing about the Corns, they don't even have to be playing to amaze! Thanks for the congrats all, I love them! 13. Thing is, I only have one corner available in my living room. The other area of placement is next to my hallway. I was surprised by the SPL specs on the Khorn and the Cornwall-I still hope to hear the Khorn sometime. When I first hooked them up, I followed the advice of the previous owner and placed the treble and bass to 0-not good to my ears. I played with the dials and made them rock n roll-rattling my windows in the process. I'm currently using a SS Onkyo receiver to push them, although I have pondered using a lower wattage tube amplifier. Any thoughts on tubes? RIGGED
  14. I think I'll try the vacuum idea-good thing I don't have a Kirby. My first Klipsch speaker was the Heresey. I then sold them to buy a pair of Forte IIs. From there I saved and ended up purchasing the Corns. Due to lack of square footage in my living room, I think this is where the buck ends-no Khorns. Thanks for the ideas fellas. RIGGED
  15. I've been Cornwalled. After being outbid on Ebay on more than one occasion- I found a pair of 1978 Cornwalls on Craigslist. The grills need some cosmetic attention and a dust cover(that dome looking thing in the midde) is pushed in but other than that-they are in great condtion. I'm very impressed with their soundstage. Any ideas on how to put the woofer dome back to normal? I thought about using a needle but I thought I would ask for a second opinion. Gum perhaps? Happy in Houston. RIGGED
  16. Daddy, I agree-I was quite surprised. Oh well, I'll be out 20 clams for shipping but at least I'll get the majority of my funds back. RIGGED
  17. Well, good news. The seller responded and apologized for the non working speakers. He also said that he would give me a full refund...nice. Not fully outdoor rated eh? I guess I'll slap them in my garage then. Thanks, RIGGED
  18. Thanks again for the advice dudes. I just sent an email to the seller letting him know of what I'm going through. It sounds much like there is a problem with the crossover network-I let him know that. Man-this stinks. I forgot to mention, these speakers have clear fuses that light up(and blink to the beat) when you turn the volume level up. You can see the light through the front ports of the speakers. Thanks, RIGGED
  19. Daddy, Thanks for the much needed advice, I'm going to proceed with filing a complaint with Paypal. The dude has 100% positive feedback which made me feel easy about doing business with him. Should I try to contact him directly before filing with Paypal? Heck, now that the cat is out of the bag, has anyone else had this issue with the JBL Control 25s before? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160163612165&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=006 RIGGED
  20. I purchased a pair of outdoor(brand name speakers) speakers I won on Ebay and they sound like crap. The tweeter on both speakers makes a hissing sound and the woofer produces not any bass. Last night I did the old A/B comparison with a pair of off brand speakers and they out ran circles around my latest addition. Another thing, I have to turn the volume up to darn near 12 O'clock just to even hear them. Have I been had? What recourse do I have? I know it can't be the normal operation of the speakers since I've heard this particular model in a gym I worked out at. Thanks, RIGGED
  21. Thanks for the advice. I find that with the amp gain at the 9 O'clock position gives me plenty of juice. It's amazing how much "fuller" the sound is with 400wpc. I know the dangers of playing with such high power can do so I make sure not to turn the preamp past the 9 O'clock position. RIGGED
  22. Finally got the darn thing out of the pawn shop and I must say, it freakin rocks!!!! I hooked it up to the preamp and I'm only able to turn the dial up to 8 O-clock. I turn it to 9 and the wax in my ears melts. lol Now if I can only remember(after boozin it up) to keep the volume under 9. Very happy in Houston. RIGGED
