  1. Hi there, Thanks to all the comments and feedback. This is strictly for music only! Frzninvt: - I will try it, about 50-60hz and play with volume. Thank you! derrickdj1: - The room is about 19x14x8 - Using Marantz MA9S2 Mono and matching SC7S2 amp/pre combo; no processors used - I am sitting about 5 ft from the back wall and about 8.5 ft from the speakers, which are 12 ft apart/ tweeter to tweeter - Music wise, I listen everything really, except for rap and contemporary soul, but mostly jazz and classical jjptkd: - Like you, I too don't like to hear the sub and currently that's how it is set up - Will try 50-60hz XO points and see what's best Additional info: - Will also play with phase, but currently it's at zero as the volume from the sub and speakers do add to make most of the frequency sweeps louder, not cancel each other out, so it seems. - Subs are SW15 from Starke Sound and are sealed, front firing - Subs are located about 3.5ft apart from center and located on the back wall about 1ft from the wall - Klipsch are about 6 inches from the side walls and a bout 5ft from the back wall, however, about 1.5 ft from the back passive are the sides of the Ikea Kallax unit, used for LP storage. See pictures attached:
  2. So, I just got a pair of Stark Sound's SW15 and trying to set it up. Trying to narrow down the XO on the sub. Started with 80hz and now at 65hz. So far, because the Klipsch Chorus II are so efficient, I have the sub's volume up to 3 o'clock, 5 being loudest and 7 being all the way down. Still it provides very little output at listening levels. What are you guy's XO point on your subs in relation with the C2s? Are you using software to help tune in the sub or just by ear? Thanks!
  3. Beatlebum, so, what did you get after raising the C2s a little? Curious. I have modded my C2s a bit by dampening the internal cabinet with dynamat and some acoustic foam, dynamatted all drivers and added weight to the passive (though I know Crites said not to). I also have the Crites XO, but bypassed the Sonicaps on the tweeter and mid horns with some Audyn copper caps. Also, replaced the large electrolytic cap in the woofer with a poly Audyn cap. I love what it's done as it has better imaging, smoother mids and highs as well as more defined bass. By dampening the cabinet, I've found that I lost a little of the mid range bloom of the resonant cabinet, but I am adding dual 15" subs to help with the bass, from 120hz down.
  4. Sure is a great set with a great price! Good luck!

@Fondool if you are interested in selling just the OEM XO, let me know, I'd be interested. Thanks T
  6. Hi All, was wondering those that have the Chorus or Fortes, the second generations with the passive 15" radiator, do you use subs with them and if so, which sub(s) did you settle on? My Chorus sounds great and bass, after the added weight mod to the passive drivers, do go a little deeper, but I still sometimes feel that I am missing the low 30hz and below. Looking to ideally add just one sub, maybe two if cost is affordable to the system. Thanks!
  7. Yes sorry, I guess I meant the Autotransformers. So I am looking for or could I just use air coil inductors for the 3.5mH, 1.75mH and 0.16mH?
  8. Hi, here's the schematic I am really looking for just the inductors as I plan to source the Caps and Resistors myself. Please let me know what you are able to find. Thank you!
  9. Hi All, I purchased a pair of Chorus IIs that came with the Crites XO. The previous owner, sadly, can't find the original XO and so I wanted to make my own. I know that Klipsch likes to use the autoformer for the inductor, especially for the bass. I was wondering if I can just use air coil inductors of the same value instead? I am not a big fan of the Sonicap Gen I or II caps as I think they are too detailed and not a good fit for the Chorus. So, is it okay to use the regular air coil inductors? Thanks
  10. I have a set of the Chorus 2 XO from Crites, the Gold version, retails for $525. Will sell for $425. Thanks T
  11. Hi There, Looking for a pair of the OEM Chorus 2 crossovers. I have a pair of C2s with the Crites top of the line XO board, but really want to find a set of OEM C2s Crossovers. If you have a pair, please let me know. I do not need the terminal cups but if you have both the XO and Cups, that's great! Thanks
  12. Hi there, I'd love to learn more and chat about this. I too would love to go from the K61K in my C2 to say the K-55 M or so, similar to you. Did you also have to mod the crossovers to match the output level, etc.? where did yo get the adapter?
  13. Will the K-55M work for the Chorus 2? Are they "better" than the K-61-Kin the Chorus 2? Thanks
  14. Yep, agreed. I did, on my Chorus 2s, dampened the horns, driver's frame, the cabinets and added acoustic foam as well, but no stuffing. To me, the results were a bit for focus, tighter bass and cymbals, etc., but lets of that "hall" sound, less open I guess. But deeper bass. At least that's what my brain says.
  15. Well, I was just commenting on a post that said the Chorus 2's cabinets were too small, so, it was just my suggestion to make it bigger by adding stuffing. Also, the Chorus and Fortes (both gen II) use two pieces of light sponge like foam pieces inside each cabinet, stapled to the internal sides and top/bottom. Not enough to cover the whole top, bottom and sides though.
  16. That is correct, but that doesn't mean you can't do it yourself if you think the Chorus 2's cabinets are too small.
  17. One can make the box appear "bigger" to the driver by adding some stuffing in the speaker, preferably fiberglass. Something like the R13 insulation.
  18. Please PM me if still available. Thank you!
