  1. Amp Camp Amps are Nelson Pass DIY class A amps that run balanced mono at 20w/channel. As efficient as the Klipsch Heritage stuff is it should work out. I tend to think big and stick with my gear. My last set up lasted 7-8 years. I've already dismantled the system and everything has found a new home so my next goal is to audition as many speakers as I can but definitely want to hear the Forte, CW and LS in a decent room somewhere. So rare to find demo opportunities where I live. As much as anything this is an effort to find something new to play with and enjoy.
  2. I'm going to butt in here for just a second. I've asked this before but never got a response. Can the AL5 riser come off the La Scala? I could use about 2" off the height for my HT.
  3. The new speaks will go into the corners. The monster subs are replaced by smaller sealed boxes. I think without a center I might opt for a rack for my gear rather than in the cabinet to the right.
  4. Its a projection screen and I can't go higher. Yes the room is locked into the 12' front wall. The next room will not have that restriction. The distance from the floor to the bottom of the screen is 36". I've got 26" on either side of the screen so if the speakers stay in the corner I don't care how tall they are. The Cornwalls clip off the lower corners by a few inches. The LS's fit into that corner and the Forte's fit anywhere I want. BTW how much of the screen wall would a KHorn take up looking at them straight on (if that makes sense)? I never see measurement that give the wall space needed.
  5. Yes...more if I need it but them the MLP gets under 10'....not sure if that matters much.
  6. Yes...which seems to make placement from the wall important.
  7. (Posted this in general info and thought this might be a better part of the forum for my questions. ) Hey K fans. I'm redoing my HT and moving toward a music room because I spend 90% of my time watching sports on mute while I listen to music. I been around and around with my decision making. I will keep the HT options in room. I will have 2 Stereo Integrity HS-24 sealed subs (I know...overkill). I have a couple ACA's to start for L-R speakers. The room is 12x18 with a listening distance about 11" from the front wall. Room is well treated, with carpet and lots of leather seating. Really between the Forte IV, La Scala II (or AL5 if I lose my mind) and possibly the CWIV. Here's my dumb question. Can the plinths be removed from any of the Heritage speakers? If that's possible the shorter speaker dimensions opens up better toe-in for the La Scala and brings the CW into the mix. Two La Scala II's will fit flanking my screen wall but they will be in the corner with just a small amount of toe-in possible. I would be able to add a Heresy for a center if I felt I need it but I think a phantom center will be fine. My next room will not be restricted by height so I'm keeping that in mind. It will be a bigger space too. The next option is to get the Forte IV (maybe a 3rd for a center) and be done with it. They would fit perfectly under my screen which opens up options on positioning. I don't really like the idea of having to move them out into the room as is recommended but they will be more flexible than the La Scala. The Forte's are an easier option but the La Scala mystique keeps drawing me back to it. There's no WAF involved here but when we move I fully intend to move this 2.2 channel system into the main living room. By that time I will have convinced her its worth while. Cornwalls just clip off the bottom of my screen and I could live with it but not sure its really worth fighting with when I could just do the Forte IV's. If they can be shortened they work and with the front ports might be easier to position. I know you guys probably hate these threads but trying to make a decision before too long as my old speakers are headed to Texas next week. I'm considering a really nice set of LS II's or new Forte IV's. Money is always a consideration but this is probably my last go around with gear so I will spend if I want to (no Jubes tho LOL). My last setup lasted 8 years so I don't swap out much. Belles would also work but I just don't see much come up for sale. I suspect you guys get tired of these but looking for thoughts from the experienced Klipsch addicts.
  8. I'm a rookie, but is there a upgrade kit for the LS II?
  9. Still...not a bad upgrade price given the glowing reviews on the IV.
  10. Is the kit for a pair of III's? Assuming xover changes..
  11. I'm a newby on the site so I don't think I can PM. I've been looking for a nice pair of LS's. Maybe you can PM me? I'm only about 5 hours away.
