  1. No idea what was played on 'em,.... it was in '76. I had a friend, who knew the owners of a local appliance store, one day he told a couple of us,about their new "sound room" where the salesman would close the door and crank it up for potential customers. Well, 3-4 of us went down there,. and we were introduced to "Denny", and he had Klipsch K-horns,La Scala, and Hersey speakers. He then put something on,.turned it up,. and left the room. I was hooked! A few minutes later,..he was back,.. he may have played the others,. don't remember,. we talked $$$. Of course, the K-horns were outta a 20-21 yr. old price range, besides being too big,.. I wanted the La Scala.... but still too big/expensive,... the Hersey looked like a little brother to the La Scala,. with the tweeter and midrange horns, and with a loan,.. I could afford 'em! After taking them to a couple of parties, then stopping, couple of my friends ended up buying their own. That store is still there, only sell furniture now
  2. Are there any recommended room sizes for the Heritage line? I have my Heresy's in a 8"X10" room,.. and I know thats really too small,.. anything over 1 watt, and ya gotta leave the room... Now I'm wondering about Cornwall's in a 10"X18" room. There are a pair of La Scala's for sale, some what locally,... (I've wanted them since I bought the Heresy's in the 70's) but I can visualize them (they are about the same size as my dishwasher!), and I know they are to big for my small house.
  3. Back in the 70's , I "discovered" Klipsch speakers. I was really just starting to getting into audio equipment, having a Kenwood intergraded amp (KA-6006), Kenwood Turn Table, and some 10" 2 way speakers,... Then a friend told me about these speakers he had heard at a local Appliance store, needless to say,.. I was "blown away" by the Klipschorns, and La Scalas,.... but being just 21 at the time,.. the only one I could afford were the Heresy's (and still, needed to get a loan, $600/pair). Hard to believe they are 46-47 years old (date code on 'em shows they were made in '77, but I swear I bought them in '76,.. I didn't have a job in '77!) Less than a year ago, I decided to hook everything up,... Hadn't really listened to them too much since '85,... then I upgraded the amp and just recently added a CD player,.. and I swear they never sounded so good!
