  1. I've had a KLF-C7 center speaker for a while now. Back when I had a CRT, the speaker was able to be placed on top. I upgraded to a 37" LCD about 5 years ago, and the stand of the TV was perfectly sized to be placed on top of the KLF-C7. This was perfect, since of course, being 11 inches tall, the C7 was way too large to fit on the next shelf down on my TV stand (or pretty much ANY TV stands I saw at the time). I just upgraded my TV again to a 50" plasma. This TV now uses a 'spider' stand that is too large to be placed on top of the speaker. I've seen mounts to place speakers on top of a flat-screen TV, but at 38 pounds, the C7 is clearly too heavy for that as well. I currently have the speaker placed behind the plasma, but the sound is so muffled that I'd be better off just turning it off. I guess my question is, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this sort of issue, has anyone discovered any solutions for it? An entirely new TV stand isn't an option unfortunately. Even something like this riser would be great, if a 12" tall one existed: http://www.standsandmounts.com/WoodTechnologyTVRiserwithAdjustableSpeakerorComponentHousing.aspx Of course it'd match my current setup much better if it was made of metal posts and a glass shelf, but doesn't matter anyway since it's not tall enough. Any other ideas that I might be overlooking?
  2. I can't get that picture to load, but none of the Bello stands I've seen have been strong enough. The Outlaw 1070 is 50 lbs by itself almost, and most of the Bello stands I've seen on their site could only hold 50 lbs per shelf. Almost none of them had enough room for the KLF-C7 either; remember, its 12" high. Thanks for the help anyway though.
  3. I was considering mATX but couldn't find any cases that really stood out to me, this one included. I could probably manage with 4 slots if I had to, but I need an external 3.5" bay, and I'm not a fan of the silver front with the black case. This still looks like too much of an old desktop PC case to me, even if I was to stealth the drives.
  4. Right now, I'm personally looking at some of the pre-done stuff, because I have no experience with watercooling whatsoever. I'm looking at the Coolermaster R80 CPU setup, along with possibly (depends on how much it costs by the time I get it) the Sapphire Toxic watercooled X1900XTX video card. It also depends on what components I can fit in the case. I'm currently looking at the OrigenAE X11 HTPC case.
  5. I'm still having trouble finding something, even with those links. The Bello ones are nice, but the maximum weight per shelf that I've seen is usually 50-75 lbs according to their site. http://www.soundations.com/images/lacasa4_series.jpg This one looks nice, but probably has two too many glass shelves, and besides, the clearance given for the center channel speaker underneath is only 10 inches. (Besides, it looks very expensive as well).
  6. I just wrote a really long message, and the forum crashed or something and I lost it, so heres a summary. I'm planning on getting an LCD TV (probably 37"), and I currently have a KLF-C7 center channel, and am really confused on stands for the TV that also accomodate the center speaker. Basically, I think I would need to put my Outlaw 1070 and the HTPC (both around 17x17x7") I'm planning on getting on the bottom shelf for heat reasons. The S1000 for my subwoofers, and my Gamecube and Xbox would go on the second shelf. The problem is that most stands I've found only have two shelves and the top for the TV. However, since I can't put my KLF-C7 on the top of an LCD like I did with my CRT, I need a spot for that as well. However, the speaker needs around 12" of clearance, and I haven't seen anything that would accomodate this. I need some INEXPENSIVE (I think Salamander sells a stand that would work, but its like $900) stand that would work for all of these components. Any suggestions? I should probably add that I would prefer the back and sides to be open, for heat reasons. Also, the KLF-C7 is about 40 lbs, the Outlaw 1070 is 50 lbs, the TV i'm currently looking at is 50 lbs, and the S1000 is around 40 lbs, so it definitely needs to be pretty durable as well.
  7. Yeah i'm looking at picking up the outlaw 950 or the rotel and a separate amp. or course i still have to have some money for a computer for college next year and just my college expenses.. but hey.. audios more important right? This message has been edited by JHoff80 on 06-22-2002 at 04:40 PM
  8. Alright, I'm wondering what anyones opinions are on using either the new Rotel preamp (1066?) or the Outlaw 950 with Klipsch Legends (KLF-20s, C7, and KSP-S6s). What I've been hearing so far is that the Outlaw is slightly brighter and the Rotel is warmer, but is more of a quality to do with the amps? Is there an amp that could tame this brightness of both the Outlaw preamp and the klipschs and have everything sound good together? I'd rather get the Outlaw, since its slightly more inexpensive and the feature set seems to be what I'm looking for, but am wondering what everyone else thinks about how it will sound. 9. Yeah i'm also 17, and i currently have a system of: 2 KLF20s KLFC7 2 KSP-S6s Sony STR-DE935 receiver 2 SVS 16-46CS+ Samson S1000 Panasonic DVD-RA60 Older minidisc player, older vcr sony 300 disc megachanger older tv i think what you really have to do is build piece by piece. For example, i got the cd changer, the dvd player, the receiver, and the KLF20s first.. its taken me about 2-3 years to get all this stuff, but its worth waiting for. Now if i only had enough money for...

    Klf-20

Damn I'm very tempted, except it was hard enough to convince my parents to let me buy the SVS's (I'm 17) besides the fact I'm going to be in college next year and don't know if my dorm will even have enough space for everything. So, while I really really would like to, I'm going to have to say (regretably) I can't.

    Klf-20

Man, those KLF20s are sounding very tempting to replace my KSP-S6 rears. What finish? Asking price? Does it have to be to someone who can actually pick them up, or will you ship them?
  12. Theres a post on this in the home theater section.
  13. Just curious... whats the average selling price of a set of KSP-S6s that are in good condition?
  14. I have a pair of black KSP-S6s (only a year and a half old) right now that I use as my surrounds, and well, I can tell you right off the bat that i know i'd be happier with another pair of KLF-20s. I'm honestly thinking of getting rid of the S6s in favor for the 20s, if of course i can get good offers for it- I'm greedy haha The problem is convincing my parents to let me put another set of towers in my room Also, HornEd, what was it that you didn't like about the KLF-C7? To my ears it seems to match just fine, but i'm probably wrong. Just curious

    OT: Car Audio

I was just wondering.. has anyone heard the HSU Research car sub? It says that in a Corvette they got 120 dB at 12 Hz, but thats in a Corvette, so how good would it be in a midsize car? Also, its not just loudness that I want all the time. Is this a quality sub?
