  1. Stop if you like these drivers!! They need the 'back pressure' of the horn as well as a roll-off to keep them in their range.
  2. Nice to see another attorney who knows how to do this! I'm sure you see all of the same mistakes that I see out there when someone just 'copies the legal' Hmm, on metes and bounds I always start at the commencement to the POB then through the courses clockwise as written. Aliquot part needs to be backwards if you don't know where the property is (only Township, Range and Section).
  3. If you are in a small county, go to the recorder's office and speak to them. I work in a large city and things must be done in a very specific manner. They might even accept a parcel number and a reference to a prior deed (Something like: that certain real property bearing XXX County Assessor's PArcel Number XXX being legally described in that certain Warranty Deed (??) recorded in the Official Records XXX County on _____________ as instrument number XXXXXX) NOT LEGAL ADVICE, PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK
  4. 'We don't give legal advice, good luck' ....
  5. I cannot give legal advice but I am a civil engineer and a real estate attorney and deal with this all of the time. You need an actual legal. I like to provide the legal, Assessor's Parcel Number AND a map to record as I like my documents very clean. If there is a recorded record of survey I also include a reference to that too. The legals that you have are metes and bounds and will correspond to a survey which is actually very easy to read (even though almost no attorneys can do so). If you are technically minded you can figure it out (I was never taught, I just looked at documents). Does your state use title companies? They can prepare the deed and legal for a minimal cost. They basically just copy the legal from a previous deed, hopefully an insured transaction. You also want to pay them to record it as you will likely use an exemption for transfer tax and if you do it yourself, it will get kicked back and become a PITA. One final thing, most (like 98% or more) of attorneys screw this up and I am constantly being brought in to fix recorded documents after the fact. A title company that handles commercial transactions should be able to get this right. If they just do residential it is a crap shoot, but a title officer can do this properly if they even look at it.
  6. I am going to try to clean it with a damp Q Tip. When working on my other player recently I read NOT to use alcohol to clean laser lenses because they are plastic, not glass. This makes sense and applies to almost all if not all players as they all use the same basic two transports. I need to spend more time with this but I am sidetracked with another player I picked up recently.
  7. Hmm, all my discs are old except for a few, but all of my discs are in really good to perfect condition. I need more time with the machine as I just dug it out of storage. It skipped then seemed to get better on good discs. I need to try some burned CDs. The lasers are getting scarce or at least expensive as this machine is so old. So I figure I should replace the laser to keep it going another 30 years.
  8. if you cannot find the Klipsch part it is time to get creative. Measure the diameter and find something similar on Partsexpress. I keep a lot of these around as they are cheap and very useful. https://www.parts-express.com/tools-supplies/hardware/case-cabinet-feet You will need to use a hacksaw to cut off the extension and hopefully can drive a screw through the center. Replace all eight. if you can find a solid rubber foot with no metal you can hollow out the center, but it is probably easier to do what is described above as drilling in rubber is not easy.
  9. I have a 30+ year old Denon CD player and I am the original owner. It still sounds very good (surprisingly good), weights about 20 lbs and is very well made. It has trouble reading some discs and skips occasionally (it did not do this before). I already know the answer to this question, but the laser is ready to be replaced right? A replacement is about $40 at the cheapest and I can install it.
  10. Any easy reading books on room treatments besides O'Tool's book?
  11. There was a thread on using the AL parts to build a Type A. I have it in my server. I can try to look for it later. So we have it in one place, what is the issue with the AL? Was it trying for a really flat response? How does the AL-3 improve this?
  12. My favorite toy when I was a kid. None now though.
  13. A quick reply in case anyone is in my situation with a Sony based CD player. I just finished the laser swap and it is playing beautify. Listening to Pink Floyd played by a symphony. If you have a CD player with a Sony KSS laser, if the laser is bad, the disc will not spin up, it doesn't mean something else is bad (at least the KSS 213). A KSS 213C replaced a KSS 213B laser, no problem. The laser just gets installed, no adjusting the pot, as a matter of fact, mark the preset position of the pot in case it ever gets moved. Make sure you de-solder the short out that protects the laser from static. I also used a little (very little) lithium grease on the parts that were greased before.
  14. I think I remember when you were selling this stuff. In my situation, my wife knows because I tell her, but she doesn't remember the actual amounts. She does encourage or at least just watch me and she does like the equipment and the music even more. We were watching a YouTube video on some Wilson speakers that were a lot and she asked me if I was going to buy some. I told her the price and she said, oh, are you buying them? [my answer was no 😬] I need to make sure she has a nice two channel and surround system to keep, she likes those, sell the rest. I need to make a list for her when I am getting long in the tooth. Now my power tools, gotta think about those.
  15. I saw it at 8 minutes and thought that is said 'sold.' I read more carefully and say they were available. I wasn't feeling well during the week and this was the first time that my wife and I were having a talk over coffee in a few days. ALso the first time that I was on the internet in several days. I had to risk my life stop the conversation, read about the cutoff frequency, measure speakers, look up sizes and shipping. My wife was annoyed but got over it. Whew! I almost didn't make it so I earned these. 😁
  16. I watched some videos on the Hantek 5102 scope. Looks relatively easy to use and well priced. I was originally looking at handheld scopes like the Hantek 2D72 or Owon HDS 272S, but for $100 more this seems like a real bargain. Is a model with a signal generator a good idea? https://www.amazon.com/Hantek-DSO4102C-Multimeter-Oscilloscope-Generator/dp/B0784BB8Q6#customerReviews
  17. I risked my life to say I want them, my wife was talking to me and I had to cut her off to send a PM and look at shipping. Yikes!!
  18. Wow, the PE one is really down. If Klispsch still sells them that looks like the way to go.
  19. Some companies ride and enormous success from people buying their products and modifying them (Chevy, Ford, Harley Davidson). I can understand how it can be annoying for an engineer to hear from some person who has no real skills claiming that they have done better, but that will always happen. On the flip side, modifiers are probably the biggest following of the Heritage line. Seems short sighted to just stop it here rather than use it for market advantage. I do like the technical discussions, and even though this seems to have REALLY diminished lately, the answers to other technical questions on this forum (woodworking, fabrication, etc.). This was always my go to because we had so many skilled people here.
  20. Yea, I am updating my electronic tools lately as I have several amps that are due for caps and refresh and I need to brush up on my skills with these. So any scope?
  21. Any recommendations for a particular oscilloscope?
  22. I watched his other video the other day on making a TT plinth. Very interesting
