  1. Not sure how many of the old crowd is still here, but I need a 9" tonearm and this was always a place to get friendly deals. A like the Jelco 750 / Sumiko MMT (already have one on a table), but I am interested in others as well. Just needs to be around 9" to fit the table (an Empire 398). What do you have? Feel free to PM, but post in this thread PM sent as I am not here very often anymore. Thanks.
  2. Need a pony express from LA to Las Vegas. One piece fop gear, will fit in a car easily.
  3. I am almost never here anymore but glad I dropped by to see this. Times were definitely different back then. Glad to see you back at the electronics Craig and best wishes.
  4. Nice, I am a big fan of Musical Fidelity gear. I have an older similar piece that also includes a CD player and an ADC with the DAC. Great unit.
  5. What is the advantage of the 203 / 205 over the 105 if you do not use for movies? I know the DAC is supposed to be better but mine sounds great on some very revealing speakers.,
  6. Here is the flavor of the month. That is not necessarily a bad thing as the Benchamrk DAC1 was a FOTM when it came out. Eversolo DMP-A6 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C48P4TQT?psc=1 Well below your budget and getting great reviews everywhere. The screen and meters are quite nice to look at. I like that you can add a cheap SSD and load it up with your music too. No NAS needed. Google it and you will see the reviews. Here is the Steve Huff review. https://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2023/05/02/eversolo-dmp-a6-streamer-and-dac-review-insane/
  7. I bought an OPPO BDP 105D in silver. Love it so much I bought an OPPO 105 in Black. They are out there and do so much, CD player, DVD, DAC and streamer from a NAS or memory stick. What Musical Fidelity unit do you have?
  8. I have an A3 Preamp. Nice piece of gear. Shipping calculator seems a little high but this is a really good deal. "Tubelike..." https://www.ebay.com/itm/126009565908?hash=item1d56c162d4%3Ag%3AGXcAAOSw8oZkdRKC&shqty=1&isGTR=1#shId
  9. I had some oak speakers that had chips in the veneer. Forte's have nice thick veneer. Get some scrap oak (very little is all that is needed) and cut with a razor into thin pieces that are thicker than the space to be filled. You may need to soak it. Cut the pieces to size but a little thick and glue in place, then sand down to match the veneer.
  10. This is funny. Any large company can drown anyone out, right or wrong, with lawsuits. It happens all the time.
  11. Check the Garage Sale alerts ASAP.
  12. They have good stuff on there. I am checking an Audio forum. I am also a knucklehead. I checked in my garage and found a gallon of sealer. So I guess I don't need to buy any...
  13. I need to seal sandstone around a pool. Great choice of material next to water, in know... What do you guys use? Really harsh sun and water exposure. The stone is flaking so I need to do this. I scraped it all down and it is ready to be sealed while it is still cool out. I have about 75 linear feet about one foot wide. I found Miracle Sealants 511 Porous Plus Sealant. Is this stuff good or is there something better to use here? https://www.amazon.com/Miracle-Sealants-Porous-Sealer-Quart/dp/B095279FJ9
  14. Some of the band's early work before spending time with the Rolling Stones in India?
  15. Screw him. I verify that all drivers work, check overall condition and then listen for a song or two if even. Once in a while you meet someone you like and are having fun, but make the deal first.
  16. Don't get mad at Wuzzer, just take his advice to go over to AK to discuss mods. It is now forbidden here. Maybe this tutorial will help:
  17. Sorry to hear this, so painful. I had the dog in my avatar for sixteen years. She has been gone over a decade. FWIW, I waited too long to get another dog. Learn from my mistake.
  18. I have the original remote, but it eats batteries and is not really user friendly. Th emotion control turns it on all the time. I just wanted a good volume control and mute for commercials. The $5 Phillips did the trick. It does sources too. If the Harmony was available I would have bought one based on reviews but they are NLA.
  19. The 170 wpc gave it away. Great receiver. I use it to drive five Palladiums and have used it for Marten Django Xls. Does a great job. A $5 Phillips 3 device universal remote was a great addition for volume and muting control if you want something more simple that does not eat batteries.
  20. @TimBo 170 WPC. Are you using a Denon AVR5800?
  21. A mighty fine amplifier. I had the 7B STs years ago. If you search everyone will say that they are bright, harsh, blah blah blah. I had the 7b STs and Classe CAM 350s, known to be 'tubelike' at the same time. They were very similar. The Classe was slightly rolled off on top compared to the Brystons, but not buy much. As others have said, keep the volume reasonable as they can do some damage to your speakers with that much power and Heresys are small, so if in a big room, don't try to push to loud volumes.
  22. Go get 'em. Worth every penny.
  23. I like seeing someone half way around the world enjoying these. Post over at AudioKarma and include pics of your progress. The Heresy has a different sized cabinet, correct? If so a no go on that.
