I love these old cartoons. I remember one where a salesman had a bunch of "State of the art" signs over his shoulder and his manager was saying "just put them on anywhere."
My other favorite, in Playboy they had just come out with cars that talk (that didn't last long), and a really beautiful woman is in the car and the caption has her saying to the salesman "The car just kept moaning"
