  1. I have two KLF-10's as my fronts (and very happy with them, by the way). Now I need a KLF - C7 for my center and can't find one anywhere! They are out of production, so what do I do now? Any help would be appreciated.
  2. I'm just about to pull the trigger and buy a Denon 2802. But first, what exactly is 6.1? Does that mean all 6 speaker and the sub are working when listening to movies AND stereo music? What is the purpose of "7 channel amp" in some of th high end units if there are only 6 speakers? I must be missing something. One last thing. I have KLF-10's for my fronts against the wall, and in-walls on the back wall - 23' away. Yup, it's a BIG room. I need a suggestion for mid speakers that will be mounted on the sloped ceiling which is 11' high. (the room is 32' wide, and impossible to do side wall speakers) Is there a Klipsch bookshelf that I could mount up there, or would the horns be too overpowering? Many thanks for helping this NOVICE!
  3. Will this Radio Shack amp work for driving a pair of Klipsch KLF-10's in my house? It's fan cooled, and has A & B speaker selection as well. It's their catalog nubmer 32-2004 http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F002%5F003%5F003%5F000&product%5Fid=32%2D2004 Anything wrong with this unit, can't beat the price at only $249. (I picked one up, and it's a pretty stout unit at 27 pounds if that's any indication of the transformer size) See attached picture if it helps. Thanks, Bob
  4. Hi, I have a large room that I need to fill with lots of music, and occasional 6.1 home theater. Can anybody give me advice on a good receiver AND and amplifier in the 150 watt per channel range to drive? I have Kplipsch KLF10's for my fronts. The key here is that I want 6.1 AND lots of power, and I don't believe that can be done without buying mononblock amps? I'm not sure, so I need advice of you experts if this can even be hooked up. Thanks, Bob
  5. I'm sure I'll catch lots of hell or laughs for this one. But, can anybody tell me what is so wrong with the Radio Shack sub that is on sale now for only $149? 200 watt & large driver. Thanks http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F002%5F001%5F022%5F000&product%5Fid=40%2D5031
  6. My new living room is a slightly irregular (closet bump outs) but still a fairly large 31' x 23'. Anyway, I've wired the building up for 6.1 and now need a reciever to give me lots of power for my disco music, and only occasional DVD movie. I currently have KLF-10's for my front speakers, and will also need to get 4 more speakers for mid's and rears. My intention is to hang bookshelf speakers from the rather tall ceilings as opposed to the satallites that most people install because they all look to be fairly inneficient to me as far as db ratings. In the $500 range, is there a reciver that you folks would recommend? Also, is there a way to buy a lesser receiver and simply use a seperate amplifier to power the front speakers (the most important to me)? I was thinking of this because a lot of the receivers I've looked at are rich on features buy low on power. Any recommendations from the real world would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I just bought a pair of KLF 10's, and returned the PR3's back to the dealer because they were WAY too short on mid bass due to the paltry 5.5" speaker. It took me about 10 seconds to really like the KLF's! For the 1970's dance, soul, and rythem music that I prefer - these speaker crushed the PR3's without trying. Tweeter Etc. here in the northeast is retailing them for $299 each and if you like "mid bass" I think you'd be very happy with these. Ironically, I would be willing to bet that the 30's don't sound as good given that the 10's only have the highs going to a horn. But that's just a guess.
  8. See, that is what's SO confusing to me! I'm not really an audiofile, so I have a lot to learn. But, I thought that I couldn't run the subwoofer cable from the JVC unless I also disconected the brass bar that connects the terminals on the speaker. No? Will I loose stereo definition if I do as you suggest, since my JVC only has one subwoofer output? Thanks for you help!
  9. I'm going to use 5 speakers with my JVC 660VBK. I prefer to use the JVC "Hall surround" option, but will probably try the Dolby Pro Logic & Dolby 3ch Logic. Let me guess, I should get rid of this unit and get something that is 5.1 compatable. Right? Is there a big difference?
  10. Today, I became the proud owner (I hope) of a new pair of RP3's. After reading and re-reading the directions many times over, I still don't have a grip on how to BEST wire them. The directions talk about bi-amping them, but I don't see how that can be done without seperate outputs on a receiver. (I have a JVC 660V). The manual also mentions that using the single subwoofer output from the receiver would basically make the low end of each speaker monural. As a lover of 1970's rythem & dance music, that sounds like heresy to me. I'm not a big movie fan, but hope to use these some day for "home entertainment". At the moment, big base and real stereo is far more imporant to me. Also, since the speakers have outputs I asume I can add subwoofers to both speakers at some point? You might think that 2 additional subs is overkill but the room I'm building is 23'x30' (slightly irregular shape) and I'm afraid even these big boys will get lost in there? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
