We are building a new addition that hold a family room and part of an expanded kitchen. I've purchased some Klipsch in-wall speakers for the family room and ceiling speakers for the kitchen. I was reading in some old threads where the in-walls should have about 1.5 cu ft of wall cavity. One old thread showed a mounting box that someone made, but it was filled with batting material. I assumed that the insulation in the wall should be removed to create an enclosure. Is this correct? The manual doesn't address this.

Let me know if you are interested in selling the RC-64 separately.

No, everything is out of focus even the graphics. Watching last night's game, I can't believe a major network allows their program to look that bad.

I've always thought CBS HD football looks excellent. NBC HD football. Now that sucks! Everytime they come out of commercial or graphics, the picture is out of focus for a few seconds. It's been that way for a couple of years now.

My coolest car is this one that I brought home Saturday. It's a 2003 Silver Corvette Z06. The only problem is the weather won't let it come out of the garage!

For Sale: RF-7 black pair with DeanG modded crossovers
markmaple replied to markmaple's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
I haven't heard of Dean doing any mods to the 83s yet. We might have to wait for him to get a pair and devise a plan to improve them. Once I start hear great reports of improvements, it will probably get me thinking. Until then, I'm happy. I think Dean's mods took the 7s in the same direction as Klipsch went with the 7s to the 83s (softer highs, better mid-range). -

I bought a pair of RF-83s and a RC-64. Nice, congratulations!! How do you like them compared to the 7's? I found the 83s to be a little softer in the highs and maybe a little stronger in the mid-range. I had a week to A/B the 83s before deciding. The first night, they sounded awful. I thought they were defective. I let them play for a couple of days while I was at work in case they needed some break-in. They started sounding much better. They seemed to sound better each night. I went back and forth thinking that I had made my decision. Since they continued to grow on me, I decided to keep the 83s. They are both great speakers. Very similar, but a little different. It would be interesting to A/B them again since I haven't listened to the 7s for a while. Then again, that would probably confuse me again. -

Another vote here for the Phillips Pronto TSU-3000. Great prices available on ebay.

Fish, I bet you got cherry. My dealer had several cherry, but no black. So, he ordered black (B-stock) for me. I waited several weeks and go this one. They must pickier with the cherry or don't have much problem with the black. I currently have a cherry RC-64 until my black one comes in. I'm a little nervous to see what that one looks like.

Thanks Amy!

I ordered a pair of B-Stock RF-83. One speaker looks beautiful. The other one has this nice defect in the top left front of the cabinet. I figure I can easily make it look better. My thought was to use a little wood glue and a clamp to bring the split wood together. Then a little paint to touch up the area. Does anyone with wood-working or cabinet experience have any advice. Thanks, Mark

I highly recommend BlueJeansCable. I've bought Component and Multi-Channel cables from them. There were all high quality.

Tom, Good luck with your cat's health issues. I know how special a friend they can be. A couple of months ago, we had to put our 17 year old cat down after dealing with his diabetes for 9 years (2 insulin shots a day). Putting him down was possibly the hardest thing I ever had to do. Again, good luck. Mark
