  1. It seems so strange seeing my old RB-75s connected to another system...sigh! Just glad they'll serve a worthy purpose in your setup, Kevin.[]
  2. I, too have the deepest respect for all our brave men and women in uniform, regardless of branch or duty station. They are all heros in my book for graciously giving up their own freedoms to take the oath to serve our nation, either at home or on the battlefield. Anytime I hear about our wounded service members, and especially for the loss of anyone in uniform, it just breaks my heart (I'm teary-eyed right now as I type this, and I don't know any of these soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines personally)! Being an Army vet myself, all patriotic citizens who get that calling to serve know the risks involved, and yet they still continue to volunteer throughout the nation's recruitment centers to this day, even with two wars raging in the Middle East! This says a lot about the character of an American man or woman's heart to be a part of something that's bigger than themselves, to not only serve themselves with the pride of doing something they know is right and just, but to also serve this great nation (flaws and all) and its flag and all the freedoms that we as Americans enjoy (and take for granted). With the passing of any service member, especially during war, we as Americans need to show our most deepest respects for every single one of these fallen heros, men and women who died for the cause of freedom...I salute you all!
  3. Sorry I can't help you out with the Macs, Kevin. I had to pawn off my MC250 years ago when I was laid off the first time. And it was just after I sold mine that my bro sold both his MC250 and MC2100 to finance his tube amp fix. IIRC, his MC2100 had also driven a pair of KG 3.2s and later KG 3.5s with excellent results. Klipsch and McIntosh seem to be a great combination no matter what models one chooses.
  4. Kevin, your two MC250s are pristine! They remind me so much of my near-mint MC250...what an excellent amplifier it was given its age! Once my debts are finally settled, I just may look into buying another one someday (and actually holding on to it this time)! Reminds me back in '01 when my younger brother borrowed mine and bought a restored MC250 for himself (and I borrowed his beautiful MC2100 in the meantime)...he bridged each MC250 to mono which drove each of his AE Aegis Two towers. It was stunning to say the least...then he went to tubes and completely changed his system around. But as far as I'm concerned, those early SS Mac amps (when restored) still sound damn good today.
  5. It's obvious all us previous owners of these RB-75s took great care of them while in our possession. But it amazes me the excellent condition they're still in after all the moves they've made across this country...from the assembly line in AR to IL, to CA, to NY, to FL, and now back to AR (I assume not too far away from where they were originally built in Hope). Just glad the freight gorillas actually handled them properly while in shipment!
  6. If you get the chance, Kevin, take a pic or two of the RB-75s in their new home (missing them already...my Triangle towers are good, but just not the same).[]
  7. Thanks, JT...Yes, they were mine (sigh). They also belonged to Ben Clarke (ben.), Mark Deneen (mdeneen) and Jeremy (capo72), so they were well cared for before I ever owned 'em![Y] Kevin is indeed very lucky to own this near-mint pair of cherry '75s. They're awesome bookshelf loudspeakers; very dynamic, detailed and transparent when setup properly. If I hadn't been laid off (again), I'd still be listening to them. Such as it is, they're in good hands now, passed on to another forum member to enjoy. Kevin, if you like those RB-75s on the floor, you might want to consider looking into these low-to-the-floor Maple Bedrock Ultra wood stands from Mapleshade: http://www.mapleshaderecords.com
  8. That's reassuring, Mark. I'll keep my fingers crossed for such a venture.
  9. I would really like to see Mark transfer his old-fashioned cottage craft business to a new owner who has the same vision, drive, high moral standards, design philosophies, and respect for JM's customers...to continue JuicyMusic in the same direction it has been going in for the past 5 years! Any word as of yet on that front, Mark?
  10. I was recently laid off from my shipping manager's position over a week ago due to lack of business, but was fortunate enough to get my old job back as a "part time" silhouette artist at Disney World. I'm only getting 30 hours a week now, but before I lost my previous job, I was cut down to 20 hours and less a week. At least with my present employer (who's contracted by Disney to provide artists at the theme parks), I will eventually get full time status again when they start clearing out some deadbeat employees they've got! This economy sucks...I even had to sell my RB-75s to help pay for property taxes that are due. I feel for all those who've lost their jobs this past year...
  11. I like the gold/black scheme...it's fine by me just the way it is. Too many distractions and clutter can turn off a potential customer IMO.
  12. So glad it's not another Beatles thread...that's a sweet swirly LP.
  13. Ditto on the twoage...but then, you've figured that out already.
  14. Had my Cornwalls hooked up to a Carver M-400t and a TFM-35x...sounded damn good to me! The first time I ever heard Klipschorns back in '80, they were powered by M-500t amps (4 loudspeakers, 2 amps). Talk about a lifelike presentation!
  15. I started to get a chill, so I turned my ceiling fan off...BBRRRRRR! Born in NY and raised in CT, so I know cold weather. Which is why I no longer live up there.
  16. You did well. And welcome to the forum![]
  17. Thanks, Steve. After what you just went thru (from your Thank God I Survived thread), I really appreciate your concern. Especially since you have way more important things to concern yourself with...
  18. And I thought I had problems because I recently lost my job...you almost lost your life! God was indeed looking out for you. Take care of yourself.
  19. Sad thing is, as funny as these political cartoons are, I fail to see the humor in them anymore since they all hit the nail on the head. That, plus the fact I was just laid off last week and could only find a part time job 50 miles away...and I'm forced to start selling off gear like my RB-75s.[]
  20. "That's it, Miss Schnider, I think you've got it. My wife wants a paisley pattern just like your rendition on the Belle Klipsch grille cloth so it'll better match the living room sofa."
  21. I hear you loud & clear my friend, I gave over 20 myself...some people just don't get it--oh wait...maybe it's US that don't get it...I guess these whiners have a right to never hear or see anything that they don't want to. well, mr. complainer (and all those that defend him)...i remember calling home one day while duty separated me from my family, and my daughter was about three or four years old, she got on the phone and asked me "daddy, are you ever coming home again?" I'll take a fly by over my house everyday at the crack of dawn to never have heard those words or miss out on a day of my children's life. i don't think i can behave myself in this thread, so i'll quit now. And yes, THANK YOU my fellow soldiers, sailors, and airmen. No truer words were ever spoken, BSM and Andy. Seems many Americans have totally forgotten that 9-11 even happened, let alone two wars currently raging in the Middle East with our proud men and women in uniform dying for the defense of all its citizens of this great nation! The brave souls who don a military uniform and go into battle, and for those who still enlist today, were not forced into service via a draft...they (like myself back in the '80s) chose to take the oath and proudly serve our country. It's just unfortunate that there are those civilians out there that are incapable of appreciating their freedoms (to shop at a mall, buy groceries without shortages, watch a ball game, a reality TV show or their favorite movies), and thank those who gave up so much (to include their lives) for all the freedoms they enjoy daily! I say a little prayer for everyone in our armed forces daily, so that I can enjoy my freedoms and my safety. The whiners had better wake up! An Army vet ('80-'86)
  22. The site's still up...just logged on. Here's Mark's message: ********************************* Time to turn out the lights... It has been a great 5 years, but it is time for me to retire. Being a new year, and with the economy as sour as it is for discretionary purchasing, this looks like a good time to wind down the production and development of the JMA products. I am going to continue to provide full and complete warranty support for all the products out there, so there should be no concern for anyone using the products now. I'm only stopping new production of the product line. The web site will be here for ahwile, but I am removing the PayPal purchase buttons on most items. (We still have a demo Peach II, for example) If you have any questions about your product, just give me a call at 707-832-7363. or send me an e-mail. My Customers and Friends Thank you for your continued support and many kindnesses over the past 5 years. I wanted to create an old-fashioned cottage craft business, and it worked out exactly that way...to perfection. I certainly met an awful lot of great people, and made many new friends. I am looking at the possibility of transferring the brand and designs to someone who might be wanting to do this boutique audio business going forward - we'll see what happens. May you all have the best possible New Year! ********************************* EDIT: I see jwc was able to get on the site...oh well.
  23. Although I have never had the opportunity ($-wise) to purchase a JM product, I have always supported your components and recommended them to others on all the audio forums I patronize (even have JM linked on my own audio enthusiasts site). Although you deserve a much needed rest and to enjoy your retirement just as anyone does, to think this could mean the possible end of new JM designs and production is kinda sad. You mentioned on your site you'd like to see the possibility of transferring the JM brand to someone who might be wanting to continue your business and design goals...I know I speak for all your loyal customers that they (and I) would also like to see that happen. Finally, a decent, home-grown audio outfit that builds some of the best products on the market...something like that needs to continue and prosper! Your moral convictions and philosophies on how to run a business and treat its customers shouldn't just disappear because you're retiring! I hope someone with the right attitude as yours will contact you and work out an agreement with you on JM remaining in business for many more years to come. Regardless, enjoy your retirement years, Mark. You certainly deserve the best!
  24. http://www.savagebeanfilms.com/movies/ The above link will take you to Ken's own website, where a 60 minute DVD of the ACA's 20 minute clip is derived from. Also includes other audio related short clips (40 minutes worth)...and it's yours for a small donation when you order the full length DVD from his site. Guess it pays to do a little research first! And thanks, Max, for the head's up.
