  2. I have an SVS 20-39 PC+ in route and would like to have the cable ready when it arrives. Is there a general consensus whether to buy a ready built one versus build your own? I have much expierience attaching 50 ohm RF coax and heliax connectors, whether crimp, solder, or mechanican type, but I do not ever recall having to make a cable with RCA connectors. I am assuming the required 75 ohm cable to feed the SVS is RG-6 yes? It would be a dis-service to not take a moment to mention what a great site this is. I spend countless hours learning here over the last couple of years, but have very few posts. As I gain more expertise in the HT field, it will be shared.
  3. Russ - interesting comment. The first HT system I auditioned at Tweets, were KLF-10's w/ rs-3II's and I was overwhelmed. It was however, my first expierience with anything other than an RCA 32" with the audio channeled through a cheap sony combo. That visit instilled in me the need for a HT system. My search for a good system evolved from the KLF-10's, to RF-3's to RF-7's, and finally reality, AKA budget, set in and a good deal on KLF-30's with KLF-C7 came along and I went that route. The surrounds seem a bigger challenge to obtain than the rest. Getting a bit anxious now, and thats usually when I tend to make a rash decision just to get on with it. Roy
  4. AVMAN - Help me understand your logic. Aren't the rs-7's and s-6's configured the same? I have only seen photos, but they look the same. It seems that placement would be similar for both. Not so? Roy
  5. I am looking for a nice pair of RS-7's for my KLF-30's. If anyone has a pair for sale, or knows where some are, please let me know. Thanks, Roy
  6. Well, guess I will go with the RS-7's. Trey Cannon with Klipsch replied with his suggestion that they about the best surround match today, and would keep up. Roy
  7. Keith - I found the e-mail address for Trey in the Trouble Shooting board. Roy
  8. Keith - Would you happen to have any alternate phone numbers for Trey? Each time I call, I try a different department at the automated answering system at Klipsch, just trying to get a human voise. I never have the ability to wait for more than about 10 minutes while at work.
  9. Thanks for all the great advice. More KLF floors would be great, but just don't have the room. My surrounds will have to be wall mounted. I will try Klipsch again. No responce from them yet.
  10. Looking for advice on what surrounds would compliment my KLF-30's. Missed out on KSP-S6's on ebay, and don't have room or funds for more KLF-30's. Klipsch has yet to reply with suggestions, so I thought I would ask the wise one's here. I understand the timbre issue, but if I am unable to find KSP-S6's, I need the next best thing.
  11. Mrs Snail's Pace - We pray for a safe and speedy return of Snail's Pace.
  12. Snail's Pace - I am looking to add a pair of Black KSP-S6 surrounds to complement my KLF-30's. Have you decided to sell yours or not? Roy
  13. Ed - thanks for the advice. I have read many of your comments about the KLF-30s, and they had a fair amount of influence on my final desicion. It must be quite an expierience to listen to 6 of them. In the 60s (dating myself now) my wife worked for Home Entertainment which is now Tweeter, and there is no telling how many hours we spent after the store closed auditioning all the Klipsch speakers. Our dream was to own the Khorns, but we could not afford them. We once even went to the factory in Hope Arkansaw for a tour as Paul's guest. It's sad that he has passed on now, but maybe he's working on yet another way to add to our enjoyment in another time. Your traveling HT system also sounds like quite an adventure. Anyway, I have finally aquired my first Klipsch speakers. Many thanks to all for taking time to share their wisdom. Roy
  14. Well folks, I finally decided on the KLF-30s with KLF-C7. They are in the mail. Now I need to find a good deal (dont we all) on some KSP-S6s, and my speaker system will be complete, for a while anyway. Will pick up an SVS 25-31 sub soon. Kjohnsonhp- Thanks for the comments on HDTV. I will have to make that desicion soon. Still not certain which way to go, but after the Denon and speakers are in place it wont take me long. I am just afraid my patience will wear thin and a coin toss may decide. Roy
