  1. Here's a link to my current Home Theater. I would put up pictures here but there are just too many. As you can see I built a custom audio rack which I just finished and everything else was bought. It took me just about 3 years to build this as I am still young(21) and doing school, building this theater took a long time. I wish to upgrade the speakers next to Paradigm Studio 100's for fronts and Studio 40's for mids and rears to go with the Paradigm sub I just bought and the dvd players are also one of my newest purchases. Incase your wondering my speakers are made by a good Toronto based Speaker company called StudioLab. The only thing im missing is a bigger room and a couple home theater seats to go with the couch. http://community.webshots.com/user/freak_54 This is what I currently own: JVC 56" TV, Marantz SR6200 Reciever Denon DVM-1815 5 Disc DVD Player Sony DVPNC665P 5 Disc DVD Player StudioLab Speakers Paradigm Seismic 12 Subwoofer, Klipsch KSW-15 Xbox, PS2, Gamecube Lazyboy Full-motion Sofa
  2. so is connecting the bride known as consumating the marriage? If not then i really don't think i want to know what does....ewwwww.
  3. Yeah I do agree with all of you that an audio rack would look a lot nicer. I looked at a nice Bello one while ago but it was around $700 CDN, so i figured i would build a nice one for now and then buy a nicer one later when I have more money for stuff like that. Joe Schmoe - Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to look into raising the rear speakers, seeing that they are so big, ill try to find something. As for the Centre, it can't really move, the bracket is as far out as it goes and it only goes left and right now. skonopa - That is really funny, but that must be a real b*t*h when you want to change anything behind your audio equipment. **BTW I do have something that is Klipsch, it just isn't pictured. It the Klipsch KSW-15 subwoofer which i just took out of my room for the Paradigm Sub.
  4. http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=3755033&uid=1943790&members=1 I have finally had time and a digital camera handy to take some pics of my Home Theater. This is my first Home Theater which took me just under 3 years to build and is pretty complete for now at my age of 20. Everything in the picture is already paid for and was all purchased by me with my money and not my parents like some people may tend to think. Some People may not recognize the speaker brand, The brand is StudioLab which is a Toronto based speaker company which has been around for a very long time. Here are the specs on the speakers i have: dB 150 Specifications: Frequency Response: 27 Hz - 22,000 Hz +/- 3 dB Impedance: 8 ohms Crossover Frequency: 550 Hz - 2500 Hz Sensitivity: 93 dB @ 1 Watt / 1 Meter Power Handling: 200 Watts RMS Dimensions: 18" W x 40" H x 18" D www.speakerdirect.com I really like these speakers cause they can produce alot of bass which is good with my dance music and they are also really good for home theater. These Speakers are powered by a Marantz SR6200 Reciever. The TV is A JVC AV56WP30 56" TV which i bought almost a year ago now. The Subwoofer Is about a couple months old, its a Paradigm Siesmic 12" subwoofer. The Sofa is a Full-motion Black Leather Lazy-boy. The DVD player is a Sony DVP665... progressive scan 5 disc dvd player. The one thing that is clearly missing is an audio rack which i am in the midst of building as I write this. The other dvd player in one of the pictures is a panasonic which the laser has gone dead on. Other equipment in the pictures are a toshiba 24" flatscreen TV and a Denon DVM1815 5 Disc Dvd Player. The main thing I would like to change in the near future is the speakers, I would like to get Paradigm Studio 100's and 40's for surrounds. Any and all comments or suggestions are welcome. Thanks Kris.
  5. "Groundbreaking...not really, but it's very good for it's size. Anybody know what the street price on the sub is...I know the MSRP?" The street prices on the seismic 12" that i got were $2000 CDN from one place and $1800 CDN from another. Both prices are in Canadian so im not sure if that helps but there they are. And btw I think the sub is pretty astonishing or groundbreaking and it can hold its own very well, its hard to ask for alot more for the same price range. Kris P.
  6. My question is how many watts can that subwoofer take?, rms and peak???
  7. Hey EAR I appreciate the responses to my questions..and I hear what your saying about the signature series but those subwoofers are pretty expensive being $1900 USD or in my case $3000 CDN and me being almost twenty years old..I just don't have that much extra money for a sub like that right now especially since i just bought my JVC 56" I'ART. I was wondering if you had any comments about a equivalent to the signature series but at a cheaper price...referring to Definitive Technologies Supercube 2. Do you know if this sub can shake the house when watching movies??? & is it as good for bass while listening to music(dance music pref.) just like the signature does..and does it sound as good, etc.?And it has 1250 watts but whats the RMS output on this sub????????????????? The specs are as follows : Dimensions:12" W x 12" D x 12.5" H Frequency Response: 14Hz - 200Hz Driver Complement: One 8" long-throw polymer subwoofer coupled to two - 8" pressure-driven infrasonic bass radiators. Amplifier: 1250 watts Digitally-Coupled Class D Low-Level High Pass: 40Hz - 150Hz (variable) 12dB per octave Speaker Level High Pass: 80 Hz (6 dB per octave) Low Level Low Pass Filter: 24dB/octave continuously adjustable variable (40-150 Hz) plus Unfiltered LFE direct coupled input. Phase Control: 0 degrees - 180 degrees (continuously variable) Finish: Piano Black Gloss with a Black Cloth Wraparound Grille Weight: 38 lbs. Suggested Retail: $899 ea. http://www.definitivetech.com Thanx in Advance
  8. I have a few questions about the Mirage BPS-400 if someone wouldn't mind taking the time to answer them it would be greatly appreciated....... 1. Where are the two 12" woofers firing ....front or side or down???? 2. Does this Sub really create a lot of bass(floor shaking, heart pounding) in movies and music???? 3. Is it good value for $1300????????
  9. I was wondering if anyone actually knew how good the SVS Model PB1-ISD their new box sub for $600 USD with 320 RMS BASH Amp is compared to the ksw 15 with 275 RMS BASH amp.(which is what i have) and how it possibly stacks up to the rsw-15 with 650 RMS BASH Amp. The problem with SVS is they sell direct so you can't hear them anywhere if you don't know anyone who has one and therefore can't really compare them except with people's words or reviews in magazines, and asking people who have them on the forums to tell you how good they are. I was also wondering what people think is a fair price to sell a ksw-15 at considering i have owned it for 12 months and i bought it for like $900 CDN. I was looking at the SVS sub because i want alot more bass then what im getting now and their subs are good from what i hear and i like the box subs they sell which aren't that much money, only like $1000 CDN. And one last question does anyone know what shipping of an SVS Sub goes for to Ontario, Canada?
  10. This is a JVC TV I was thinking of purchasing i just wanted to know if anyone has heard of any problems or complements with it. It's JVC's best tv being a 56" I'Art Pro HDTV Monitor.
  11. On 1/17/2003 1:21:26 AM michael hurd wrote: "Krisp_01 : Did you buy your speakers new ?" michael hurd : Yes I did buy my speakers brand new and have had them for about 1 year and 1/2. I have heard and seen their image 8 series and their pretty nice for music but I have yet to hear their reference series but from what i hear from you and others is that they're very nice but even the reference one series carries the price tag of $1100 a pair according to their website www.speakerdirect.com . I like how speaker direct makes each of their speakers for you once ordered instead of mass producing like other companies such as cerwin-vega, etc.
  12. Yes I am Canadian as you can see from my speakers....paradigm subs are nice but i think paradigm anything is made more for sound quality as opposed to really heavy bass. I pretty sure the RSW-15 is made for sound quality and serious bass otherwise why would it have two 15's....although i would rather not spend about 2 grand CDN to get that much bass with that much quality to it i would rather spend less seeing that i already have a ksw 15 but buying the RSW looks like the best option and maybe sell my ksw or use it for low frequency bass on the other side of the room and the rsw for low and high.
  13. SVS subs look nice and all except i don't really like the look of the sub cylinders. They also don't look as nice as the RSW-15 in black. my budget would generally be $2500 CDN and down. i want a sub for alot of bass but the bass still won't drown out my music because i can put my music really really loud because im pushing 105 watts into 250 watt speakers adn they barely move.
  14. I was just curios of ppl's opinions because i was thinking of spliting the signal on my reiceiver and buying another subwoofer possibly being the RSW-15 because i don't think my KSW-15 gives out enough bass but then again im 19 and I don't think there is ever enough bass on music but even still its not alot of bass without having the music really loud. What I want is alot of Bass with my dance music and i don't think the KSW suffices.....but its alot of money to get a RSW-15 almost $2000 CDN. The question still remains is it worth it?
  15. The Polk Audio PSW650 has two 10 inch subs coming out of both sides, as like the polk audio the Rsw has two subs coming front and back but are 15 inches each, as opposed to the single woofer KSW-15 which only has one downfireing woofer. Which one of these is the best in your opinion if you have heard them or not. I currently own the ksw15 and think it is nice but could have more bass for music.
