  1. When reading the story it really stuck out that when it was you and his son, 90% signed up ? Something happened for the good, and from what you are saying it can't be the kid ? If at all possible, try to get a presentation with just you and see what the results are, and let the father do one with the kid ? It would be hard to belive the goofball gave you the higher numbers, if so go with the goofball.?
  2. LOL You screwed that all up...since you had your first mid-life crisis too early and worse yet bought a lawn mower[^o)], we'll just call that a practice one.[] Now when you turn 50 try again and this time buy something cool.[] I never expected to live to 30, much less 60, so I didn't think 40 was pushing the 'mid life' envelope that much. I'm not rich, what can I do? I have all the speakers in the world, so that's done. I have about 1.5 years until 50. Does it have to have wheels and go fast or what are the rules??? And no, I'm not having that much fun overall, but the ZTR is a bit of a blast! No it don't have to have wheels and go fast , it can have legs, and no not a new stereo rack for your equipment, but it can have a rack ! I would think the best model to look for would be from the mid 70's and older ? IMO The newer models may be fun but in the long run the older models may be less [bs]. Although they all are a little trouble on occasion, they are great to have around. When shopping you can only tell so much, sometimes it just take luck to end up with a style you can live with . Good Luck shopping, and let us know if you find a good deal, even if a newer model on a trial basis, just to hold you over till you find the model you want to keep. .
  3. I went from the satellite box to the receiver, and from the satellite box to the TV. Just use the best connection it allows, optical, HDMI, or component, for the TV just left and right would be fine. That way you can use the TV speakers or the receiver, there may be a easier way ? You should get some more replies. To tell you the truth I don't remember what I used and it's to much of a mess to pull out, I know I have component and a optical cable hooked up plus a couple other wires ? I will have to tear it apart soon because we have ordered the newer HD satellite box to get the last 10 HD channels the older model 811 don't pickup.
  4. Great looking bike, watch out for the idiots in cars, they don't seem to care much about bikes.
  5. Your right OB, so here's a little bump.
  6. Go ahead with your bad self InVeNtOR .[Y]
  7. There is almost nothing you can buy that at least one part is made in another country ! As far as the quality of the hope products, it is as good as anyone should expect from a 1'st class operation. We ( people at the pilgrimage ) got to see the plant while operating, got to meet the people, they care about what they do, and are very good at it. It shows in the finished products. Most of the employees have been there many years, many over 15 or 20 years ! I do a little woodworking, and was very impressed with the quality. When I build something I have all the time I need, the people in Hope don't have that much time to play around (Like me) and the speakers still come out like they had all the time in the world. I guess that's what happens when you do that type of work all the time. I spent most of my time on the tour looking at the cabinets, to me the drivers look alike, the quality of the cabinet is what you will be looking at in 20 years. We got to see everything there not just what they wanted us to see, there were some sets of speakers just sitting around on pallets, LaScalas, Khorns and I think Cornwalls. If you get the chance go to the Next Pilgrimage that is in Hope and see for yourself, you will have no question of the quality. If not just look at the pic's from last year, there are many to look at. If you don't want to not have something made in China, spend the money and move up the line to something made in Hope, real wood and better drivers. I had Synergy when I first found Klipsch and the were the best sound, by far for the money, I compared them to many brands. I did not care where they were made, I had no idea where the other brands were made either ?
  8. Dtel, you still taking it easy, bet not.......Hard to teach old dawgs new tricks, we have a hard time with change, but this is a good change. Couldn't be happier, well maybe, if COYTEE gave me his Jubilee's, the Scott is sweet, but the thought behind it is even sweeter..........[]..NO[bs]..[Y] No OB, that taking it easy was great when I felt like crap but the better I felt the more exercise I got. I feel great now and only really have to watch to not pick up really heavy stuff yet. Really glad you like the Scott, as far as the Jubs, I think you may have a easier time time talking Coytee out of his wife, he is not giving up those big fugly speakers, can't blame him.
  9. That is about 1 step from the worst week possible, hope I can never say " I know what you mean ". Glad your past that week OB !
  10. I am really glad to hear this, when I started reading about the Scott being sent to you, this was the outcome everybody was hoping for. It couldn't have happened to a better person ! Happy listening.
  11. The smell will go away in a few days, but then the grass and weeds will be growing like crazy ! Want to hear something crazy, the new rural septic tank requirements were changed a couple of years ago here. The " new " system had a second tank used as an overflow from the first tank for just liquids. Instead of a field bed a few hundred feet long they made people put in a pump with sprinkler heads on them to sprinkle the yard ! [:|] It took a while but they changed there mind on that idea .
  12. Sorry double post edit : Might as well use the space ! I kind of got away from taking pic's because of price, take 36 pic's and really like a few, the rest end up in boxes. We went through the boxes of old pic's a while back and were actually glad to have a few, old friends, and relatives, some no longer with us, so it wasn't a complete waist. But with digital, take 20 or 30 of what you want and only save the ones you want, without paying to print them all. and you can store them on a disk, and get them printed when ever you want. That is what is making me want to get back in to photography thing again, I used to love it.
  13. I could be happy with some things but the shutter lag time is something I can't handle. I was using one of the kids digital pocket cameras and the lag time was about 2 seconds. I was trying to take pic's of them riding go-carts, it was a joke I would have to push the button and follow them like I was useing a video camera, waiting for the shutter. It was a cheap camera, but it made me realize how bad shutter lag is !
  14. Rob, looks like a great place to fish. The Z also looks like fun !
  15. Nice, looking at the two pics I think you look better with it longer, the wild man look ! [H] I never told you, when we seen you walk up at the airport, I told Christy, wow we came to pick up Sammy Hagar ! [*]
  16. I guess I need to read more on the D80. When you say '' scene modes '' what do you mean? If the D80 can't be operated full manual I will look at another model. I don't know anything about these digital cameras, my first film camera was an Canon AE-1, my last was a Nikon something, $600 and It's in the closet broken.
  17. Strange you posted this I was just looking at the D80 with the same lens, but it's 1k less and has most of the features I would want. I have an older Nikon, Film, that stopped working and I don't want to even have it fixed would rather move to digital.
  18. That's a good one, If you had 3 kids there must have been some Synergy with the wife at some point ! Nice family heritage.
  19. I want to go just listen and appreciate the music while I measure ! [6] OK I need some help, I measured the Cornwall, compared to the Industrial LaScalas that were here for a couple of months. And there is not really that much difference in overall size ! [] But they sound different ? I might need a new tape measure ? Edit : Now I know I need a new tape, I measured the Yamaha RXV and it is almost the same as the HK 930, but they sound totally different ? [8-|]
  20. Kaiser SET, what is Disc Golf ?
  21. Welcome both of you ! The information you can get from this forum is unbelievable, and the people are even better ! Go ahead ask some questions, sometimes you will get more answers than you know what do do with, especially how / where to spend $.
  22. You are busy all day and realize, that you never had a chance to listen to any music. And it's now too late because everybody's sleeping, and you feel like you missed out on something.
  23. My earliest audio memory was in the early 60's. My grandfather would rent a huge camp on the lake for the whole summer, and we would live there for the summer. In the camp was a jukebox that would light up with different colored lights, like you see on the show " Happy Days ". I don't recall many of the adults using it much, but the kids would press the buttons and make it play music. A few years later my parents bought a Magnavox console and that was when I really started to pay attention. I could buy play my own records, and it was even in Stereo, that was a big deal.
  24. You got a nice set of speakers there, very close to brand new and saved some $ also, good deal ! Now Jet, what are you think about replacing them with ? New, Old, what size small, medium, large, XL, or XXXL. ?
