Back in the fold!! Proud new papa of '84 Cornwalls
dtel replied to joemcten's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Welcome back and good deal ! Ok so I have to ask what is the " A " system , if that is your " B " ? -
Indy, you are not kidding, in a restaurant in Cozumel they brought us some chips and salsa with a bowl of Habanero sauce. The homemade chips and salsa were great, then like an Idiot I put some Habanero sauce on a chip to try it. I can say for sure I will never do that again, my mouth was still burning 30 minutes later. Ever sweat from hot sauce ! You could kill someone with that stuff ! [:@]

One Forte ll should be good, I don't know about the parallel thing though. Why not either sell off the extra Forte ll, or even better, look for a couple more pair and sell off the Kg-4's. Or one more pair of Forte ll's for rears and use the Kg-4's for side surrounds. I use 4 Forte ll's for L / C / R and rear Center and original Forte's for L / R rear for 6.1. You will not need 2 of them for a center, you will see / hear ! I can't do 7.1 because of a wood burning heater on one side . What about 6.1 until something is available in 7.1, and you find another pair to match. Just ideas, but you can see where i'm going........If you have the room why settle for less than a perfect match, If you use the Kg's you will later want to change them to Forte ll's anyway, I would bet. All IMHO !

Hmm. Was the wife responsible (as I go running to hide)? the cover would be enough to frighten me off from that one. No way, it was my Nephew . Christy does not rent movies, because she don't watch them 99% of the time, can't sit still long enough ! [] Just wanted to say I think I put on 10 lbs around the Holidays, but it was fun ! You are good ! [].............Many Thanks

Well I guess whining about 35 last night and 47 today is out of the question ! Believe it or not we were hoping to get some snow, it happened about 15 years ago. That 1'' almost shut down New Orleans, really, don't laugh, it's true.

OT: What's your favorite coffee, or other AM beverage?
dtel replied to Piranha's topic in General Klipsch Info
Though like I said, a manual drip is my prefered way to make it, a french press is just dandy also. OF COURSE EVERYONE HERE GRINDS THEIR OWN BEANS JUST BEFORE BREWING............... RIGHT? Nope, most of the time, sleeping just before brewing, the last thing I want to hear is a coffee grinder.[:S] -

dtel replied to Piranha's topic in General Klipsch Info
Plain old Community Coffee & Chicory , New Orleans Blend, strong.......... I know "Chicory" most people think it's crazy to add it to coffee but it does have a different taste. It's what I'm used to though, pure coffee taste flat to me, never claimed to be normal ! I use my Grandfathers 90 year old drip pot, it has seen alot of coffee. Although I do like the flavored coffee's. -
Well as far as bad, how about Nacho Libre , it was terrible, glad it was not me that rented it.

By far the best move would be to find another Chorus or Forte for the center, keep the front 3 matching. IMHO, It has worked for many here including me ![] Like more and more are saying " There's nothing like a perfect match " , . I know the Academy is good, BUT you will hear a big difference, guaranteed.

newbie considering a Klipsch system... but have some concerns
dtel replied to rjsbiz's topic in Home Theater
If it were me I would not use the others, how many DVD's do you that are 7.1 ? Just guessing there will probably be a big difference in efficiency anyway. I would bet it would sound better in 5.1 with just your new Klipsch than to add the Energy,s. I had heard the set you had, almost bought them when I found Klipsch, your Energy's are not even in the same league as your new ones, you will be shocked, in a good way. -
Ob is correct Small. DrWho had a long thread about this months ago, and it made sense. So as much as I didn't want to belive it I tried setting them to small. I use a Yamaha also and was able to put on a concert DVD and put it on a comfortable volume and switch back and forth between large and small quickly. It sounded better set to small and let the sub handle the rest, and this was using 6 Fortes. I think the big difference was with 6 Fortes the bass was not tight it was kind of boomy, some of them were to close to a rear wall, and all were somewhat in corners. Try it for yourself switch back and forth while something is playing and listen for yourself .

It's gone, just as well I couldn't stop looking at it ! Not the picture you want a bunch of men thinking of when they are hugging you ![]

The best way to find out how it sounds is to buy one. Since they're so cheap, there isn't a downside. As far as sound quality goes, it may be one of the nicer amps that retail for $30. Almost anything that retails for more will sound better though. I use one for my "Porta-Sound" set-up. Very impressed. I'll disagree with Parrot a little... you have to spend a LOT more than $30 to get better sound. Ten times? Twenty times? But do spend three times more and get the deluxe version if you intend to use it for something other than travel. So when you travel you actually carry alone two Heresys and a amp just for the hotel room? It doubles as a car stereo. Hey that was your car? I stood there for 10 minutes listening at the pilgrimage, it was playing out by the driveway ! It sounded GREAT, better than ANY car speakers I had ever heard. It sounded so good I went and found my wife and made her come listen. wow

Local , Abita beer was started there because of the spring water, the town is called Abita springs. http://www.abita.com/ AMBER Abita Amber is a Munich style lager brewed with crystal malt and Perle hops. It has a smooth, malty, slightly caramel flavor and a rich amber color. Abita Amber was the first beer offered by the brewery and continues to be our leading seller. It has been voted "best beer" in numerous New Orleans reader polls and is used frequently in recipes of great Louisiana chefs.

This movie wore me out, nonstop and loud, loud OK that was my fault. If you like non stop action, you will like this movie. Don't want to give it away, but it has an unexpected ending

If we even get there, that would be another 1'st !

Great idea Michael, now to talk my wife into it ![]

My Whirlwind to Detroit (and got to meet Miss Amy!!)
dtel replied to Coytee's topic in General Klipsch Info
Michael is correct, in the long run the car show or the speakers don't matter, you will remember the trip with your Dad. Also very true about the way things come together, scary sometimes !....... I was very surprised when he bought those Herseys, having know idea how to get them, and was not even concerned about it. It was like Ha I just won some Heresy's in Tennessee cool ! Like they would just fly to him, Ok he was close, they drove there! He has much more experience at this than me , and much more cool about it, obviously ! You DA Man ! [Y] -
DC is a nice place to visit, we went for a week and it was fun, went to see the Smithsonian's and all the monuments. Also if they still have tours of the Mint, Capital building and the FBI building it's worth going to see, and don't forget Arlington Cemetery. We took a tour bus to see the Monuments, because they park right there and give you time to walk around at each one. We seen the rest on foot and subway. There is a lot to see, just watch where you go after dark, there are some clubs, but also areas you don't want to see after dark.

About the only thing that this will run is the people standing close to you ! Well unless you were to run a hose to........never mind , don't want to think it through any farther.
