  1. Looked at the website, very nice pits, might have to borrow a few ideas. That is very close to what i am building, they are a lot more fancy than mine but i only have a couple hundred in mine. I book marked the site because they sell some accessories i may want to add. They are expensive but will last a lifetime and the bugs have been worked out already. Me i am to cheap ,and many years ago worked in the shipyard so i can weld and burn and like building things like this, especially if it involves FOOD. By the time you get home after this weekend you will probably smell like smoke/bbq yourself, does the wife go also. Have fun
  2. Almost forgot very nice pit alot more fancy than what i am building, bet it works great.
  3. Oh yea my pick of the two is gumbo, I have never seen it made the same way twice everybody seems to make it different, never met one i never liked thou. But as i was reading your post my mouth was watering, I love smoked meat,Brisket, pork, turkey almost anything thats been through a smoker. I have seen these competitions on tv these people get very serious about there cooking. I like smoke flavor and bbq so much i am building a large smoker/bbq pit, I started with a 6' long propane tank and built a firebox on one end and a upright smoker box on the other, with thermometers on the bbq part and on the smoker part. I wanted a good design so i copied some i got off websites, and of course if you want a good pattern the best come from Texas. I have a few more changes to make ,the exhaust on top of the smoker box was a little to small, about 3'' it didn't let out enough air/smoke to keep the fire working correct. The air intake has a damper is on the firebox door and exhaust damper is on top of the smoker box, but the one on top could be left open and it was not large enough to keep a correct intake on the other end. As you know the wood must burn just right or it leaves a bitter taste. Also on the part between the firebox and smoker box i want to add some propane burners so if i just want to bbq something fast i don't have to build a fire, also propane in the firebox to light the wood. This sucker weighs about 1000lbs so i put it on wheels so it can be moved around, dragged around. Haven't worked on it in a while really need to finish it. Sorry for the long post, sounds like a fun weekend would love to go to one of these shows one day thou .

    HDTV - WOW!

Thanks ,had a feeling it was something like that. If all the rest would go thru that much trouble or at least film and broadcast in HD everything would look great,It's like they are fighting to keep the old standard. You would think the tv makers would be pushing more. If people are watching things they normally wouldn't just because it's in HD it proves they want HD and they make $ on commercials so every channel to jump to HD has more people watching and watching commercials also.
  7. Been out of town for a few days, ate to much food on vacation, time to take a break from overeating . I wasn't going to be the one to bring this topic back to the top but, after someone else did my vote is for hardwood over carpet.

    HDTV - WOW!

I also found the 1080i looks better, tried both settings,Toshiba 65H84 with Dish network and Voom [ leftover Voom channels] thru DISH. Although some HD channels look better than others could be the content or the cameras ? How do they take old movies and show them in HD? Some of the old movies look like real HD and the movies were made way before HD ,If you rented some these old movies even the DVD would look terrible, how do they clean them up so much?
  9. If this is true all Michael has to do is put a ad in the paper listing all of his Klipsch ,and they will be waiting in line for him.
  10. This might make the news, Flamethrowers and 40x60 tents don't mix to well, and people running around screaming from fire ants. Sounds like a Chevy Chase movie "Weekend in hope" ,and many more characters than the movies. Alcohol, tents, flames, geeks, nuts from all over the country,Wait if Klipsch thinks about it they might back out ,Bad press?
  11. Sorry to hear that but if at all possible try ,many would like to meet you. If nothing else wanted to hear more stories about the b____ party.[]
  12. Trey I'm with Seadog on this no experience but will be willing to help, Just let me know. Don't drink much so "should" be standing well enough to help at any point .
  13. Is the K-77 the only one it can replace without problems, is it much bigger than the K-75-K1, and to much of a change for the crossover ? Forte ll

    Hawaii?

Sorry to hear that but that would have one looong boat trip.[]
  15. I seen it to and went looking for other pictures because i only see them sticking out? I couldn,t picture how it could work sticking outward, but i am not in the business of making speakers. All i could find was the term inverted dust covers. Also i didn't know what knife edge really meant, thought both sides met at one point in the rear? edit: I went back and looked again and at first i thought they changed the picture, looked away and then they were the other way !
  16. So how high is the top of the speaker now ?
  17. What about a bottle of Crown Royal from 1952. Or a 1 gallon bottle of Old Grand Dad at least 25 years old. Had both about 25 years, grandfather gave me both not a drop missing, I do like Crown Royal but never tasted the other.Does time make them better?
  18. Sorry missed the reply, Its a Pioneer DV 563A about 2 years old. I have about 25 other concert dvd's and a never had this problem even on rented movies.I also have a few sacd and dvd A and no problems even played a few Kodak picture disk. I think i will return and also try the cleaning disk and see what happens. Tom good thing it don't have any other messages, it would probably say "not this disk again, i won't play it", Although i never played anything dirty on it,yet.
  19. I only saw the previews, the first thing i thought was bear food, and this guy claims he was the only thing protecting the bears in that area. I guess the bears didn't think so, wonder what tree hugging group he was with anyway ?
  20. Very funny , sounds like you been to this part of Mississippi ?
  21. If you can live with the chip and scratches get the cherry , how long were they floor models? I just like the cherry, they might take something off ,more than 200? Don't know about th RB 83's, I'm sure more will jump in soon with advice.
  22. Daddy Dee i have been saying that for 5 years now ,since i became a { paw paw }. Grandkids are much more fun. Congratulations
  23. Don't make us chase you down in another thread.[]
  24. Keep asking he is probably reading, he thinks if he don't post here he is safe from questions ,ha ,i know you are reading this, we want you to be there thats all. You did take alot of bull about this last year, but here it is again .[]
  25. Michael gave up a very nice pair of Forte ll's for me and he was not the first person on this forum to help me find speakers. It is much easier to find used Klipsch with forum members than without, it all works out in the end. Me when asked i would help any member [ if i can ] weather to not bid or help pickup it would be a easy choice. If it wasn't for members here i wouldn't have either pair of Fortes, not to mention all the junk i might have bought without all the free advice i got from members.
