  1. Never have seen the original, but we really enjoyed this version. I am amazed at how many remakes there are of movies that I never saw the original too. I didnt even know this was a remake until recently.
  2. Foxman

    Catwoman

Is there any other reason to watch this movie??
  3. When in doubt, just buy them. Congrats, sounds like a steal of a deal to me.
  4. Very nice....whats gotta happen to get one of those in my house????

  6. Rotel. They offer future upgradability, 5 year warranty, fantastic quality and excellent sound. $1200.00 would be more than enough to enter into their AVR and I doubt you'd ever regret it.
  7. I have the Theater Master 500 and it is fantastic. I wouldnt hesitate to purchase other Theater Master remotes based soley on the quality of this one.
  8. Just curious if anyone hear has ever Bi-amped their RF and or RC-7 speakers. I know there are some mods on this board for an improved crossover, I am more curious if anyone has tried this. If so, what active crossover network did you choose and what were your crossover points. Right now I am just gathering info on the idea.
  9. It is superbit. I didnt previously own it and had been planning on picking up the Super Bit version, so for me it was a no brainer as I saved $10.00 over the price of the previously released S/B version.
  10. I frequent 4 or 5 forums and generaly do not run into anyone bashing Klipsch. I do read that Klipsch is "bright" and I read that Yamaha is "bright" and they generaly are not the best combo, but as has been stated there are many that like the combination. I had a Yami with my RF-7's initially and it was very harsh to my ears so I upgraded to Rotel. I especially have never read anyone putting down the Klipsch Referance or heritage line of speakers. If by bright anyone assumes that is a put down then I would disagree. That is more a way of defining the tonal quality of a speaker. Efficiant is another adjective used to describe Klipsch, no one seems to have a problem with that one.
  11. Earl, you might try asking the Rotel guys at Club Rotel, I found that to be a great resource for technical help on Rotel questions.

Since your room is 12x12 you could get by with some RB-35's easily and maybe the 25's. I would suggest getting 3 pairs if possible that way every channel has the exact same sound. If that isnt doable, then make sure that your center channel has the same size driver. Klipsch recomends the RC25 for the RB25 and the RC 35 for the RB 35. If you listen to surround music at all you will benefit from using 5 exact matched speakers and thats one reason why I recomend 3 pairs of either the RB25 or RB35. The 35 would give you a bit better range and depth, but a good sub would have to carry either into the lower frequencies. Hope this helps
  13. Since so many of you enjoyed this Video let me recomend Sessions for Robert J. This is Eric Clapton paying homage to Robert Johnson and it features DD as well as DTS. There are 4 differant sessions and I must say this might be my favorite for overall sound quality. The live feel is unmatched. Great disk for both audio and video.
  14. It depends on the DVD-A in question. Not sure if it's In Absentia or one of my others but the menue if you just hit play is set on 2 channel. Thats probably why some feel the need to turn on the TV...shoot I do it as well.
  15. Initially I was drawn more to the DVD-A because of the video content, but from a user friendly stand point I have grown to appreciate the Hybrid SACD more. I have never been able to do a A-B comparison of the same music comparing DVD-A v/s SACD.
  16. My ranking of the DVD-A's I own: Linkin Park: Reanimator Santanna: Shamon Santanna: Supernatural Porcupine Tree: In Absentia Eric Clapton/BB King: Riding with the King Chicago: Chicago II Metalica: Metalica Beach Boys: Pet Sounds Chicago: ChicagoV Queen: A Night at the Opera Queen: The Game Steely Dan: Two Against Nature Aaron Nevile: Devotion Fleetwood Mac: Rumors Yes: Fragile Foreigner: 4 Foreigner: Foreigner David Crosby/Grahm: Another Stoney Evening Thats all I feel like listing, but I will say there isnt one on this list I don't like the mix on with exception of Pet Sounds does have some mixing issues, but most like it a lot.
  17. It depends on the mix a lot. Silverline for one is a brand that is natorious for producing very poor quality DVD-a's but with regards to Shamon and Supernatural I like them both. So, take that for what it's worth. Some other DVD-A's I like are Metalica's Black album and Linkin Park's Reanimator. If you like classic Chicago both Chicago's DVD-A's are nice as are both the Queen Mixes. More modern? Try Porcupine Tree's In Absentia...very well made and high quality. Just a few other options for ya!
  18. Butterfly Effect is 6.1 as well if I am not mistaken
  19. I was told that for speaker break in I should turn on my AVR (at the time) and leave it on a low volume even if it was just static for 40 hours of continuous movement. I did and really didnt notice a differance. I have over time grown noticed an improved sound, now if thats my ears adjusting or the speakers maturing I wont argue. I also have had to recalibrate the speakers including my sub, although I have also made periodic upgrades that warrented adjustments. Bottom line: I got no idea
  20. You all know sooo much more about the history and the various models of Klipsch, I a hesitant to post this. In the spirit of generation I am 36 and a HT enhtusiast who fell in love with the Klipsch referance 7 systems the minute I heard it. I do own a sub so I fit both stereo types. I have never listned to anything that anyone would consider a heritage speaker unless someone wanted to call the rf's heratige. My point is, I have been around music and movies for the past 18 or 20 years, I sold Cerwin Vega, Boston, Scott, Advent, Sony ES and a few other brands. Parasound and Adcom were our high end electronics. The day we demoed the Klipsch I had every intention of shopping various speakers and while we did compare Boston and Moniter Audio, I knew the Klipsch was what I was going to be listening to for a very long time. Oddly, it was because of the music demo I had rather than the movie demo we used. Again, mabe it's age, lack of knowledge of the other Klipsch product or the fact that they blew away the competition, but the RF-7's were right for me. I do appreciate the point that everyone has made, that it is all subjective. One day I hope to enjoy the calssics like the K-horn, Lascalas and Belle, but it is what it is.
  21. I think that most people would agree that the best systems would incorporate the same size speakers all the way around. I would try to get as close as you can to the same. The other thing to make sure of is to try to timber match all six speakers as close as possible. Even though you talking about surrounds and the info is more limited than your mains the tonal quality makes a differance. I recently completed a 5.1 referance system with the final touch being the RS-7's replacing some old Boston CR-7's. I am pretty amazed at the differance a timber matched surround made for movies and multichannel music alike.
  22. I went with Rotel pre/pro and amp and love them with my RF system. I would recomend giving Rotel a listen. For a RSP-1066 or 1068 whatever the new number is and a RMB -1075 your looking at around $2500.00. That would get you a 5 channel amo at around 125 wpch with a upgradable pre/pro that offers on screen adjustments and a 5 yr warrenty. If 2 channel is your bag you can save some money and get a 125 watt 2 channel, you might save a few hundred. Good luck, have fun and let your ears be your guide!

  25. I can vouch for this sale. I purchased all my referance stuff from NOW. Most recently was my RS-7's for....$400 for the pair new in the box. Thats like 60% off. As I was in the store a guy was getting a quote on the RC-7 for $570, so 3 something was a steal. I paid $670 for mine. Anyway, I compared the 7's v/s the 5's and to me there wasnt a decision to be made. The 5's were nice and if I hadnt been able to do a a&b comparison I would have been fine with the 5's, but the 7's really stood out to me and my wife. Easy decision. Good luck with your decision
