  1. Thank You Wolfram. One day we just may meet. ERIK: Though I have MC-60s and MC 240s, wouldn't they technically be considered flea amps when used with Klipsch? At one time I owned a 2105. In getting quite a bit of volume, I never surpassed 3 watts. So though I had the capability of more, if I did not need and did not use more than three watts I was in the flea area. Sort of like using a cannon to put down a horse.
  2. Hi Scorps: The first thing that I would ask is have you done much listening to notice any problems? Sorbethane can stain. A Member, Coytee, found blocks similar to those with cork in the Center at a very low cost. If you have Heresys, rather than Heresy IIs, with the metal horns, using rope caulk or Dyna-Mat on the Mid and High metal sections will help. Bracing the cabinet by liquid nailing 1x2s all the way around is a help with resonance. A piece on the back-board is good also. Win
  3. I see dragonfyr's point. Where I would make sure of emphasis beyond the spoken word in an HT set up is the Extended low bass that is utilized in explosions, but not in the musical set up. It is good to look at your room size and see if you can maximize it for both. If not, have a setting for two channel when listening to music, then all channels for HT. What dragonfyr wrote may seem like just words but read it several times and the meaning and definitions are clear. It's nice to compress answers into easy compartments, but there are some times when the question asked can use a broader derfinition. This coming from one that attended The Eastman School of Music for Recording Engineering and not meant to put anyone down or question anyone's intelligence. Believe me, a full study in sound, definition, theory, Engineering and combining all of these components could make you run. Then add Physics on top.
  4. I'm glad that you had a good one Allan. Even moreso that you could share it with your Father. That's a true gift there. Win

Seriously, I know a some people here do not think favourably of adding a sub (especially non-horn loaded) to Khorns but in MY room this certainly added realism to a lot of big orchestral recordings, but even with small scale music you might notice an increased (meaning more three-dimensional) soundstage. So to MY ears a properly aligned sub is really more than 'just' added low bass notes. Wolfram ---------------- When I came to know Wolfram, I came to know a person that was not geared to one "sound." He knows the musical range. Something that more should learn. I used to fall asleep watching TV. That I learned was a waste. I have a Technics Class A that I rotate Sennheiser HD 270s, Koss Pro 4AAs and Koss Pro4AATs through. With each set of headphones I find something unique. The Koss seem more open, the Sennheisers more definition. I would love to move up the Sennheiser chain, but I'm still making my Doctor's car payments . I have always dreamt in color, now the dreams are even more life like. Should anyone have a better set of Sennheisers in great shape gathering dust, please contact me. Win
  6. As an owner of MC60s I concur heartily with Audible Nectar. And Audible has pulled a huge rabbit through a tiny hole!.
  7. And the above two deserve all of the credit in the world!!!!!!! You both have my thanks. Win
  8. Early Happy Birthday Chris - When you have your "procedure" just tell them you need extra drugs to put you to sleep. Or they give you a pain-killer and one of the ones that causes you to forget it all. Good Luck Sorry to Hi-jack
  9. You just know it's a slow Friday when we start posting pictures of our bathrooms. Or is this going to be like the HT set-up picture posting? Either way way it's down the drain.
  10. To you sir, may you have many more. You have educated, only sometimes irritated - but we all have that role - and you have given many a great suggestion. I hope for the day, the advice was taken to relax, enjoy and have a very Happy Birthday. Win
  11. May she always be remembered and what is done, though not able to bring her back, make the lives of those she gave her ALL for a little easier. May peace be with her and with her Spirit always, to soar with the Eagles and rest with the Doves.
  12. I think it's that blue thing just waiting to crawl somewhere..... Or what looks like lions that might bite.......
  13. You must have been walking, we've missed you. Sounds like (no pun intended) you did well. Enjoy listening. Glad all is well. Win
  14. On a borrowed basis, I have. On an owning basis, I own three NAD Receivers. I found detail and sound stage to be quite nice - Cornwall IIs and Heresys. No harshness. In a short summary, I would go for it. Nad gives a very good value, their power ratings seem to be on the low side - a credit.
  15. I realize that General Questions Is the "proper" place and am not disputing that. I think that as the two channel and HT spread more apart and people feel more comfortable in one of the areas has been a part. Speakers are universal - with the exception of Center Channel. Whereas the Processors, receivers, etc. are dedicated to one form or the other.
  16. For those of us that have dial up and / or less than 56k, you're telling that market, we are not really interested in your business. They can do things at friend's computers, but it's like watching a newscast that states "for more information on this story go to our website." Even with the ability to fully utilize a computer - not just webtv - people get tired of watching that newscast, then if they want more, get up, go to the computer to find out the 20 seconds more that means little. There was an article in the Kodak news that some are returning to a regular photo format. Depends on your target age, income, lifestyle - do they keep up with each upgrade, each change, what is their disposable income and what do they choose to spend that money on. HDTV or related boxes, DVD, SACD, even ready to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches plus increases in food fuel, Pharmacy are all now competing for the same dollar. Even if you hate to do it adopting a Wal-Mart mentality is the way some will get by. Sorry to expound so much, but they are related.
  17. Maybe he thinks there could be a constant loop tape of Rockin' Robin.
  18. You all know my love with webtv. One added part is that if a site does not respond fast enough you get the message "The Site Has Kept You Waiting With No Response For More Than One Minute." JacksonBart - you'll love this: Clapton come to Buffalo 2 or 3 years ago. Sit 10:00 A.M., tickets go on sale, pick out seats, enter credit card info, needs to be processed. They note not to log off as it may take a bit. After a minute, I get the webtv notice, connection broken. Look for other seats, enter info, processed fasted. Not happy with seats but that's life. Aweek later I call to find the exact cost, I almost lose it. Well even though webtv broke its connection, ticketba$tard computer kept going. 4 seats? No, 8, the ones I wanted and the second four. Sold the second four for what I paid. One great Concert, ate at a place called Salvatore's, went to concert, stayed in Buffalo overnight. 15 on a 10 scale.
  19. We had a law stopping the sale of tickets at above face value. It expired two years ago. But I agree with the one above who pretty much make a living standing in line to buy tickets. Then you have your comps, you name its and the average person has about a five percent chance of making it into the first fifteen rows. Then you have the fees added on. A caution: If the person on the phone asks for your information several times, wait about twenty minutes and then call your card company. I had one on a Friday night do that, called my card fraud section, found several charges. They could not reach a Supervisor. So for all that weekend Mastercard could not be used.
  20. It almost looks likes the grille is plastic or reflecting light somehow. Other thoughts?
  21. The language is interesting: "Our Founder" - someone that was a former Klipsch Employee? Or are we trying to start a cult?

  23. There are eBay's drop box/window type areas - go to eBay community and look for report a violation.
  24. If you are able to come to Rochester, NY: ROWE PHOTOGRAPHIC VIDEO & AUDIO 1737 Mt. Hope Ave. Rochester, NY 14620 1-585-442-8230 The three that I have known the longest are (in order of length of time): John Jones (there are 3 locations, he moves around, usually at this store on Mondays) Rich: I believe more in evenings Joel: Days Other Sales Staff are great, these are who I know. The store is also our local McIntosh Dealer. There are three locations, so if you want John Jones call the number above and they will tell you where he is that day. He also does Custom Installations. I've known John 30 years +, Rich 20 years +, Joel 8 years + They are all familiar with the Heritage Line. Unfortunately none on display, but they WILL gladly order them for you. Mt. Hope Ave. is also known as route 15, off route 390 - head into the City, they are about a mile on a corner. Next to a Cole Muffler. In business 100 years. I would recommend them to my own Mother. The Heritage have to be ordered and there is a lead time, but a better place, better people than I mentioned, I don't think you'll find anywhere. No Pressure, answers, good selection - does this sound like an ad? Well, good places are hard to come by. I am receiving no discount, compensation or special consideration for what I have written. Only pleasure that if someone goes there they won't get ripped off, lied to, steered to, etc.. If you have any problems PM me. Win dodger
