  1. Kind of odd that Dylan is in Pittsburg and I'm in Cincinnati isn't it, lol.
  2. Dylan, To say I'm shocked would be an understatement. That piece is the original off of my McIntosh. Where in the world would I find another. My email is still (rtaylor25@cinci.rr.com) and I have not received any emails from you for a year or so. Randy
  3. Hi, Long time no see. Sorry to say that my computer crashed and burned and I lost everyones email and all. Just didn't try to get it all together until recently. I haven't seen or heard from Dylanl for quite some time and don't know how to get in touch with him. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it,,,,and what is this with maxg and a soldering iron? Randy
  4. There are kits out there that would be better for a grunt like you or I . Had 2 MK-II's that I rebuilt from scratch. Without the manuals and help from the manufacturer and others from this forum I would not have been able to finish it. Finding the old iron in my opinion would be the first step. I have some parts left over from my project if you might need something. Randy
  5. The size of the Lascalas (depth) is possibly one reason for the Belles popularity with some. I like the looks of the Belles better but it doesn't fit in the space I have for speakers, neither do the K-horns. Wouldn't Trey or Amy let this cat out of the bag here? Randy
  6. Wow, nice steal on this. Just got back in and missed it by a mile.
  7. OK, I get it now. I have to increase the frequencies before the amp other wise all the other frequencies would have to be attenuated. Is there a simple way for me to do this? Or is a quality equalizer the answer. I've always tried to keep away from adding any more stages in the system. Sorry for all the questions but I'm a simple man with a beer in hand. Randy
  8. And the original AL's from 86. I can build some from scratch if neccessary.
  9. OK, need some help here. Can the AA's or AL's that I have here be modified for the bass bin mod? Do I need an equalizer? Does anyone have a diagram of the mod if it is possible? Thanks everyone, Randy EDIT: This is for 1986 Lascala's with the K33 and unstock AA's hopefully.
  10. Craig, I believe Trey was talking about a FENDER guitar amp and driving it into mild distortion (which is good). I'm looking for a small distortion box myself, Fender preferably. Your amps wouldn't fare well doing duty as a guitar amp Craig, not enough distortion! Randy
  11. I concur, beautiful! And the speakers look ok too.
  12. And lastly, if you can't do a blind listening test then BS to viva la difference. Just kiddin' fella's.

So then , for some unknown reason, if none of the foregoing is correct, why are there are only one or two cables out of at least a dozen I have, I can sit down and enjoy becasue the tonal balance is better than that of others cables in the box and I'm not refering to subtle differences .. and I have no bias towards any of the cables other than the results I hear and they are not exotic types by any means. If all those cables sounded the same I would not be trying to flog a dead horse .. so I'm finished with this and bid you farwell. ---------------- Last input indeed! Liar, liar, liar. You almost had me tricked into going to the dark side.
  14. Sorry I haven't said anymore about the mod but I haven't had a chance to (haven't got off my butt) buy any stuffing yet. As is I haven't noticed any loss in attack or loudness. An increase in some very low end is noticed. As stated before the speakers sounded a tad more forward at first but now I'm not so sure I heard it. Promise to get some stuffin' and try shortening the tube to 7 inches. Don't have an instument to measure differences. Randy
  15. If I didn't know better I'd swear it was Craig misspelling the words above. Craig that wasn't you was it? Randy PS Where's the picture of the VRD's???? Can't find the puddy.
  16. Hey Marvel, no that is a Taylor and a Yamaha(les paul),lol. Purchased from a friend who dabbles in guitar sales. I can't find any information at all about this guitar,it's like Yamaha never made it. SL-700S Studio Lord. I believe Gibson sued them over this. Mid 70's japaneze made.Push pull tone controls for single coil activation. We have jam sessions here about every month or so. She hasn't left me yet. Listening to music after is usually louder than us playing. No, it is always louder.
  17. Damn Joe it's good to hear you having that much fun. Don't forget to breath now and then. LOL. Now let's start modding them, just kidding. Randy edit, are they not what the seller said they were. a little rougher than what he put out?
  18. This is looking into the kitchen with my lovely wife Lois doing something or another. lol. She puts up with alot of stuff!
  19. This is looking into the hallway and kitchen, no small opening here. I believe this makes the room look a little bigger to the speakers.
  20. This is looking back into the room from the speakers viewpoint.
  21. Yes, those are the ones I thought I was ordering but somehow got screwed up. I'm liking what I'm hearing. Altho I feel I need to dampen the inside of the cabinet with something else besides the foam. Looking for some ideas here. Help. With the speakers set up like they are now it seems that they are a little more forward. Not a lot but some. They do seem to dig down a little deeper and I do not notice a loss of slam. Marvel, they are in a somewhat small room. They are in a 12 foot part of a 30 foot room with alot of HOLES at the far end. The K-Horns never worked here. I'll post some pics. Randy
  22. Greg, can you just connect the woofers direct and not the other horns? Just hook your output on your receiver to your woofers to see if you get any sound out of them. If you do either your connections on your crossover or something else is wrong, Randy
  23. Listening to Peter, So. I'll sisten for awhile before saying anynore.
  24. Listening now, definately lower,,,,
