  1. Model info: http://www.klipsch.com/search?q=heresey A nice looking Oak pair of Heresey II's in North Aurora from Chicago CL last night. I would request more pics. http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/ele/4495731867.html
  2. At the recommendation of Klipsch Technical Support, I used Watco Rejuvenating Oil (now owned by Rustoleum) on both my walnut oiled Forte's and my oak Klipschorns and it worked great. Interestingly we did not wipe off the excess oil of the tops of my Forte's in between coats, just let it dry. It not only made some light scratches hardly noticeable, but also dried to a nice gloss. I bought the Forte's in March and was disappointed when I saw the tops. There were more scratches then described. I thought they would need to be sanded. Instead we lightly steel wooled the tops with the rejuvenating oil, wiped off the first coat to remove any steel, cloth, etc, then applied 3 more coats. I take meticulous care of my stuff and didn't think I could live with the Forte's with the scratches. Now I am completely content with their appearance and love the glossy sheen. You need to look hard under bright light to see any remaining scratches. They are very dry to the touch and can be dusted with an old white cotton t-shirt. For the oak Khorns, steel wool was not needed, just wiped with a damp cotton cloth, and then applied 2 coats of the rejuvenating oil, letting them dry thoroughly in between. I didn't want the gloss on the Khorns, so with two coats, they have more of a light satin finish. I had a hard time finding this product, but found one can at Menards. You can also get it online.
  3. Yeah, I knew they were hurting, but thought someone could get them for $100 or so, and bring them back to life. Thought of Opus too, but he may be swooping on some KLF-20's...just a hunch.
  4. Original Klipsch forte' floor standing loudspeakers. These speakers sound so deep and organic, truly amazing sound. The units need some work as one of the rear woofers has been punctured on one. And On the other unit the cable pegs snapped off during a move so I had to hard wire a cable.. Also the wooden base fell off but that is just cosmetic.. If you know you can quick fix these.. It's worth the investment. Only reason I'm selling us because they are heavy and I'm moving in a few days. No Affiliation. Someone close could likely scoop these up for less. http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/ele/4493307725.html
  5. Opusk2k9, I saw these on CL and was looking into them. I don't know anything about them and not looking for these models, but may be passing through there this weekend. Not likely a fair trade, but I have a pair of oak KG 1.5 bookshelf speakers I thought about trading. Is $300 about right for the CF-1's? If I picked them up, I would probably just resell them. May not be worth the inconvenience, unless I can turn a few bucks.
  6. These may be from the hospital in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". I prefer the avocado & blue LaScala's posted in the last few weeks.
  7. Oh man, I hope your pending sale goes through...if not, my 1st property tax installment may be late.
  8. I saw a pair last week that was originally at $1,100 and then dropped to $950 and some forum members missed them and they were gone. These don't look as nice, but hard to tell from the pics, and correct, they could go for a lot less.
  9. On Chicago CL. Typo on CL...mis-spelled http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/ele/4466346746.html Selling a set of KLIPSCH CORNWALL SPEAKERS. Tested, working and ready to go to a good home!! Speakers have Consecutive serial numbers!!! Overall condition B+. Asking 1100 OBO. No Affiliation
  10. Sorry I forgot the link...long hard day.
  11. Look nice...wants them gone by Thursday. No affiliation.
  12. Thank you for informing me of the Alerts subforum...will do in the future.
  13. My intent is not to offend anyone...just thought these are rarely for sale and some forum members may be looking for them. I don't know the seller, just saw the post on CL-Chicago. http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/ele/4436558133.html
  14. Beautiful 1988 oiled oak Klipschorns all original in very good-excellent condition. Consecutive serial #'s. A few small light scratches that are only visible under bright light. You have to look pretty hard and close to see them. The veneer on the left side of the bottom kick plate of one Khorn has a small chip. This is on the side of the kick plate and can't be seen from the front...down low and loosened while sliding on carpet. Conrad Johnson MV50 tube amp (45 watts per channel) and Conrad Johnson PV5 tube preamp purchased in 1988. All in excellent working condition. The CJ tube amp/preamp and Khorns sound incredible and I rarely go past 9:00 on the volume knob because they are loud. Will consider separating Khorns from CJ amp/preamp, but I do not want to separate the CJ components. The amp and preamp belong together. Located about 70 miles Northwest of Chicago, near Wisconsin state line. I have more and better pictures, but I have had difficulty getting good pics without exceeding the 2mb limit. I can email more pics upon request for serious inquiries. I will also continue to try to post more and better pics. I am the 2nd owner and selling because I could use more space and flexibility. May consider partial trade for RF-7's or RF-7II's in cherry finish and in excellent condition. Pick-up only or I could deliver locally after your satisfactory audition/test drive. Asking $5,500 for entire system.
  15. I have a pair of 1988 Klipschorns in medium oak, a Conrad Johnson PV5 tube preamp, Conrad Johnson MV50 45 watt x 2 tube amp and a Nakamichi PA7AII STASIS solid state 225 watt x 2 amp. CJ amp driving the horns and the Nak driving the lows. I am considering selling either the whole package, or just the pre-amp and amps and holding on to the Klipshorns because I have a vintage Sansui 9090DB SS receiver to still drive them. All is in excellent condition. Prior to posting for sale, I would greatly appreciate opinions as to selling as a package, or splitting it up and estimated price range. I am obviously willing to part with the Klipschorns, but if so, may likely be looking for a pair of nice LaScalas. [*-)]
  16. I am a new Klipsch owner and find this BB very interesting and loaded with helpful info. I just purchased the Klipsch Reference Series (RF7 fronts, RC7 center, RS7 surrounds and RSW15 sub). I have a very small log home (full logs, inside and out). My original thought was to set up the HT in the great room (approx. 17x27), but a fireplace, windows, doorways and lack of wall space are all challenges limiting speaker placement, and forcing me to consider setting it up in my basement. The great room is vaulted (gabel)with a center height of about 22'. There is also a 2nd story loft on one long side of the room which opens to the great room. My basement is already finsihed (with drywall), which is restricting my options, and will require some wall moving and rework. With few alterations, I can have a rectangular room approximately 14'x20', however the room has a funky ceiling where they boxed around duct work with drywall. The ceiling height at the highest points are about 8', but the lower points are about 7' and these low spots are in the center of the room. Given these two choices, I am interested in getting some opinions as to which location would be preferred, for accoustics for a home theater setup. Thanks for your help. Klipsch RF7, RC7, RS7, RSW15 Mitsubishi 45" Harmon Kardon 5.1 surround receiver
