  1. New to the forums, figured now would be a good opportunity to say hi! I’m a long-time fan of Klipsch products, having started with a set of fantastic-sounding Promedia 2.1’s I bought about 15 years ago. That system has had its quirks, but I’m quite happy about just how repairable they’ve been. I was in the market to improve the sound quality from my entertainment unit, but given the size of my place and the fact I have a toddler running around, having a dedicated home theatre system wasn’t an option. To address this, I picked up a Bar 48 about a year and 8 months ago as I’m familiar with the quality of Klipsch products and knew it would produce quality sound. And produce quality sound it did… until it died. With the sound bar being 8 months out of warranty, I figured I could get it repaired. Turns out that’s not the case. Per the Klipsch support centre here in Canada, these sound bars aren’t deemed repairable. No parts available, no service manual, no schematics. Nothing. Basically, if it stops working there is literally nothing that the repair centre can do to fix it, and they advise you just buy a new one. Furthermore, the service centre told me that there’s a copious amount of glue used to hold everything together, so even if you feel inspired to take it upon your self to attempt a DIY repair, nothing will be accessible and you will cause more damage trying to fix it. Instead what I was offered was a possible trade-in credit on a new unit. I was told that I could send it in at my expense, and they would offer me a Cinema 600 for $699. To put that into perspective, retail pricing for the Cinema 600 when it goes on sale is $699, so they were offering me literally nothing for the sound bar I paid $700 for less than two years prior. Basically, I was told to pound sand. Again, I can’t stress enough that I’ve been a fan of Klipsch products, but the fact that the company made a failure-prone product unrepairable and is unwilling to try and help me out struck a chord with me. I’ve seen from multiple sources that Bar 48s not powering on is an extremely common failure mode, so hopefully this thread can help some people out by adding a ray of hope to their expensive sound bar that Klipsch says can't be fixed. So for starters, the Bar 48 is totally repairable. By removing the screws around the periphery of the back panel, the main PCB, power supply, and associated wires all slide out as a unit: The Canadian service centre mentioned that everything is glued together, and that simply is not the case. Yes, there is some hot glue on the connectors to prevent the connectors from separating if the unit is moved around or bumped, but this is a common sight with consumer electronics and can be easily removed by some careful prying away with a screwdriver. Through my testing, I found that the power supply on my unit had failed. The unit is an LPS-U101D2405L dual switching power supply, made by ETOP electronics in China. The PSU takes a 120VAC source and converts it to two separate 24VDC and 5VDC rails. The 24V rail appears to power the amplifier and speakers, while the 5V rail appears to power all the other electronics, including the control panel, LEDs on the front of the sound bar, and Bluetooth functionality. I found that when unloaded, the rails output 24V and 5V as they should, but once the Bar 48 PCB is connected to the 5V rail, output from the 5V rail drops to 2.7V. This is likely not enough voltage to power the main PCB, thus causing the no-power issue that many have experienced. I have reached out directly to ETOP (as an FYI this is not an easy thing to do!), and have confirmation that the power supply has failed. Per the spec sheet they sent me, operating voltage on the 5V rail should be 5V +/- 0.5V, so the 2.7V reading is well outside of spec, which was further confirmed by their engineering department. I’ve made arrangements to have a replacement power supply sent my way (with which to compare with my failed unit), so in the meantime I was going to try and diagnose exactly which component in the power supply failed. The goal here is to provide the Klipsch community with a low-cost option to fix your dead Bar 48s. As a disclaimer, I am not an electronics savant, but I am pretty handy with electronics and am extremely determined to fix this sound bar due to this awful customer service experience. Additionally, I was going to use this as an opportunity to learn more about power supply and voltage regulator design. So as mentioned earlier, when a load is applied to the 5V rail, output drops to 2.7V. I believe this might be related to a failed component in the 5V rail voltage regulator, which appears to have a couple of components that would be relatively easy to swap out. The first is an A12N65H MOSFET attached to a heatsink on the board. The MOSFET tested fine, but doesn’t appear to provide full continuity between the drain and source pins after the gate has been activated. Again, I’m not an electronics expert, so perhaps this is normal but I ordered a replacement MOSFET to install just in case. The second component I was going to look at was the LD7552BPS pulse-width modulation controller. I believe these are used for controlling voltage, with operating frequency set by a resistor connected to Pin #4. Maybe a resistor failed? I’m not sure! Having a second, replacement power supply handy will help me validate some of these things! The simple solution here would be to have offer a power supply replacement for these units that failed, but since those aren't available it looks like a DIY approach is the only option. Either way, stay tuned with my progress on this, as I will get my Bar 48 working again, despite Klipsch telling me there’s nothing that can be done.
  2. After my second BAR 48 died, Klipsch gave me a Cinema 600. It had just become available. Unfortunately, it only lasted a few months. I was then given a Cinema 800. Search these community forums for "Cinema 800" to learn more. Both the Cinema 800 & 1200 have reliability issues too but far fewer than the BAR 48 and the Cinema 600 do. Early firmware updates were a disaster but the latest ones are stable. You should be quite happy with your Cinema 800. I am. 🙂
  3. In my Bar48 case if VDD and STB connect with +5V , It worked for a while and then lost power again. Can't power on again . so I study this post say you can disconnect STB no plug in +5V , keep it disconnect. It work great! my Bar 48 can work again.
  4. I searched and did not find anyone with this issue. After a vacation where all of my equipment was unplugged from the wall, I return to have the LEDs on top and front flicker then stop working. I suspect a power supply issue as previously mentioned in posts, but am not savvy enough to replace it. Two year old unit out of warrant that now completely cuts out at random times using HDMI. Pops a bit with optical cable (that might be the TV settings). And I seek the wisdom of @KevinBif you've heard of this one. Also, I'm super curious - with all of the issues with Bar 48, what influenced you to purchase a Cinema 800???? I love (understatement) the brand also, but it seems that the Soundbar division isn't up to usual Klipsch quality standards. [I'm a newbie so the system won't let me message you directly]
  5. Hello @R1c0, @itsmeray, @CH315, @Dlayhue01 I just came across this thread otherwise I would have replied sooner. I use the Surround 3's with my soundbars. First, I had a BAR 48 so I know all about those issues. I too was given a Cinema 600 as a warranty replacement so I know all about the Cinema 600 issues too. My Cinema 600 died completely after a couple of months. I had just updated the firmware to the latest version a few days before Klipsch pulled that update. While Klipsch is pretty good about providing warranty replacements, if you are within the warranty period, the Cinema 600 doesn't really qualify as a replacement for the BAR 48. The BAR has more features than does the Cinema 600 and, while a warranty replacement doesn't have to be the same model, it does have to have compatible or better features than the model it is replacing. Both the BAR series and the Cinema series soundbars have major reliability issues, especially the BAR 48 and the Cinema 600. The most recently manufactured Cinema 600's are labeled Rev 3. 😞 When I pointed out to Klipsch that the BAR 48 specs had features not present in the Cinema 600, they replaced my dead Cinema 600 with a Cinema 800 that had just been released. Through all of this, my Surround 3's never gave me any problems. Here are some suggestions how to troubleshoot Surround 3 pairing issues. Move the Surround 3's close to the soundbar, say 3 to 5 feet, just in case there are any signal strength or interference issues. Move any bluetooth or Wi-Fi devices that could cause interference away from your soundbar. Make sure the switch on the back of the Surround 3's are set correctly: One should be in the "L" position; the other in the "R" position. If only one of the Surround 3 speakers is paired, try reversing the switches on the back so that left becomes right and right becomes left and try to pair them again. If the same physical speaker again pairs successfully, that would suggest the other speaker has an issue. If however the other speaker pairs successfully it would suggest that the soundbar is only able to pair to a specific channel (either the left or the right) and the failure to pairing is due to an issue with the soundbar. If you haven't done so already, I suggest you read these Cinema 600 articles.
  6. Guys thanks so much for this info on Bar 48 i had a similar issue of no power at sound bar, bought the power module from amazon and followed the instructions on how to wire it up,the new module powered up okay but still my soundabar didnt respond,i have tried everything on this thread but i gues mine had another issue.i really hate to throw in the towel by throwing it in the trash can.i really love the sound but i guess its time we part ways.
  7. I have a complete bar 48 complete with the matching surround sound speakers. Absolutely love this system, sounds fantastic. Last few months the volume LEDs were flickering, then all LEDs stopped working all together. No big deal the system still worked. Welp today the left and center speakers stopped working. The right channel still works as well as the sub and surrounds. So its obviously not a power issue. I am well out of warranty so I figured I shall tackle this repair on my own. Any suggestions or has anyone had a similar issue?
  8. This is my second bar48. My first one died, so I bought another because I already had the matching surround speakers. After about 2weeks the surrounds started crackling. Another 2 weeks they stopped working. They powered on and paired just produced no noise. Also it seemed the center channel seemed louder then the rest regardless of setting. Today I have the day off so I decided to update it. Yay the surrounds work and it all sounds well. But now it doesnt work with my TV remote at all, it was originally automatic for both bars. It just straight up worked to control volume. Also only the front facing LEDs work and I have 2 additional ones above the volume level lit up.
  9. Hi, I just repair a bar 48 faulty power, all is ok but as you I have this constant tick tick, clicl noise in one of the speaker of the sound bar. I suspect a faulty coil speaker... Someone have the same problem ?
  10. Hello everyone - just got this awesome KBAR 48 with wireless sub delivered 3 days ago and setup immediately. Everything was fine during setup, all parts worked, and then I experienced a problem with the volume and controlling it. I submitted a ticket to support and tried to call for the past 3 days multiple times per day to only receive the same pre-recorded training message. Message of ticket below with details. Any insight or guidance on what to do to resolve or any other advice on getting a workaround, I'd be grateful. Excited to watch some movies and just waiting for the new TV to have it's new sound system! Thanks in advance! My best - Chris I just received this, set it all up and it's working properly less this one major issue which is preventing use of the product. Following the instructions in the manual for TV Remote Programming on pg 21, on step 5, i pressed the volume up 1x and then waited... nothing happens. So in tinkered and tried other combinations and eventually step 6 happened after pressing the TV button on the BAR 48 remote. Now whenever I press + on my TV remote, it goes from 0 volume to 100 without stopping 1 by 1. If i press volume down (-) on the TV remote (even without programming it...) it does the inverse... from 100 to 0 quickly 1 by 1 until the sound is off again. I cannot even use the BAR 48 remote to resolve the issue (as i REALLY want to use this product!), as when I press the BAR 48 remote the first volume LED ticks up, then right back down. Even when it's @ max volume in error, i cannot use the BAR 48 remote to lower it. It looks like the system believes the volume buttons are being pressed and held down, at least thats what the symptoms look like. I've tried programming it again using the same instructions - no luck. I've tried programming it with alternate instructions on the internet for Klipsch products - no luck. I've updated the firmware to the latest version possible as of today (7/8/20) - no luck. I've tried factory reset (hold the 2 buttons for 10secs) - no luck. I've tried calling the number for support - no luck (coincidentally its a maintenance window at 1:30pm CST on a Wednesday business day). I believe I'm out of options and REALLY need your help to get this seemingly deafening (when it's on 100 for a second...) fantastic product to function. Thanks in advance. My best, Chris Additional notes: The subwoofer buttons are perfectly functional, they increment by +1 and -1 properly. They remain at the level set and dont escalate up to MAX or MIN. The two volume buttons on the sound bar itself exhibit the same function as the BAR 48 controller notes in original email (up or down 1 quickly then whatever the root cause is sets the volume back to 0).
  11. Thanks for posting this repair solution. I purchased a replacement power supply board for my Bar 48 that won’t power up, I wired it in and checked output voltages and polarity but the unit still won’t power up. I’m at a loss now, any recommendations on common other causes? My Bluetooth sub may be a candidate for converting to analog input (might as well get the most out of what’s left).
  12. The latest firmware update provides two new modes but I can find no information about them. Does anyone know what they do? Version: v83 (S/N: 106655719110001 - 106655719242000) Released: 12/13/2019 Region: Global Bar 48 BT v83 - Change Log: Improved subwoofer connection Increased Surround Output when Rear Surrounds are present. When volume is set to minimum, sub volume now mutes. Content continues playing after Bluetooth connection is made from device to soundbar. BT switches input when coming from other audio input after BT connection is made from device to soundbar. Sub Volume Increase/Decrease LED indication improved on bar Can power off soundbar when HDMI content playing with button on soundbar or remote. Installer Mode Added External Player Mode Added Various Bug Fixes
  13. Does the Klipsch WA-2 wireless adapter work with the Klipsch Soundbar Bar 48 Subwoofer?
  14. I found this thread after my Bar 48 stopped working and I was able to fix it following advice in this thread. Thanks so much to SixerFixer for starting it and everyone who has contributed. My Symptoms The first indication that my Bar 48 was having issues was when it wouldn't turn on with my TV. I was able to get it started again by disconnecting then reconnecting the power cord. This only lasted a few days and then the sound bar wouldn't turn on again. Actually, that's not entirely true. I couldn't get any of the LEDs on the top or the front to light up, but I did get some distorted sound out of one bar speaker and the subwoofer. Then it died completely. I live in Australia and called the local Klipsch service agent. After hearing my symptoms, they said it sounded like the main board had failed and, if they could get one, it would be about A$300 to repair. Thats's when I found this forum thread. My Repair Process To test if the problem was with the power supply board and not the main board, I used a USB phone charger and an old stripped back USB cable to supply 5 volts to the power supply board. On USB cables, black wires are GRND and red wires are +5V. When I did this my Bar 48 could turn on again. Being impatient I ordered one of the replacement dual power supplies from AliExpress. It will arrive in 2 weeks. While waiting for delivery I read the rest of the thread. Should have done that first because I then read ongtw75's post (10 March 2022) where he identifies the fault with the power supply is with the two capacitors CO5 and CO6. I bought 2 replacement capacitors (220uF 16V Low ESR) from my local electronics store and replaced both CO5 and CO6. Soundbar is now back up and running. I'll keep the replacement power supply (when I get it) in case I need it in the future. Repair Issues I'm not an electronics buff so playing around with the circuit board was a bit scary but I figured I didn't have anything to lose as it was stuffed anyway. I didn't detach the board from the soundbar so had to turn the whole soundbar over to access the reverse side of the board. Soldering the new capacitors to the board is fine work and you need a fine tip on your soldering iron. Make sure you don't bridge the pads with solder. I tested this with a multi-meter after soldering them in. I've included a pic below showing the location of the solder pads for capacitors CO5 and CO6.
  15. Has anyone had an experience fixing a power supply from the BAR 48 subwoofer? It clicks every 5 sec, output is jumping simultaneously from around 0 to around 3v. VDD is also jumping up to 14v and dropping back down. It looks like it tries to start but something is triggering protection on OB5269. I've changed OB5269 - no effect. Diodes look good, pulled out FET and checked - looks good as well. Capacitors look good. Nothing is visibly burned. I couldn't find any info on that power supply, even the output voltage.
  16. If you own a Cinema soundbar and it is still within the warranty period it is "supported". If your soundbar has a defect and it is still within the warranty period Klipsch will provide a "warranty replacement". They do not repair customer's soundbars. If they provide a warranty replacement you have to return your defective one. Klipsch doesn't guarantee that your warranty replacement will be new; it may be a refurbished unit. I owned a BAR 48, Cinema 600, and a Cinema 800. Over the life of these products Klipsch provided firmware updates to address specific issues and provide new features so it was quite possible that your soundbar was beyond its warranty period but you were able to install new firmware. You may notice a revision (rev) number on a some soundbars. That indicates a change to the manufacturing process. Perhaps there were reliability issues with certain components and Klipsch addressed those issues. Those are the only changes I'm aware of that Klipsch makes to existing soundbars. When Klipsch decides to do a major upgrade to products like the BAR series and Cinema series soundbar they do it by introducing a new product. Prior to introducing a new product it is a common practice for manufacturers to discontinue an existing product and sometimes significantly reduce the price to clear out existing inventory. I have not seen any official notice from Klipsch stating that Cinema soundbar models are being discontinued but I do see a number of indications that lead me to believe that is indeed the case. There are only a few Cinema models still on the Klipsch website available for purchase. Some retailers have told customers that (some of) the Cinema series soundbars are being discontinued. The price of the Cinema soundbars has been reduced significantly. I have not heard of any announcements from Klipsch about new soundbars to replace the Cinema series.
  17. @pconwell I’m working on doing the same as you did for the repair of a Bar 48 soundbar. What gauge wire did you use for the pigtails?
  18. I have a Klipsch bar 48 sound bar. Recently i am hearing clicking/popping noise from the center speaker. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
  19. While the Cinema series soundbars evolved from the BAR series one cannot conclude that the Cinema 600 is a newer version of the BAR 48. I managed to locate an old copy of the Bar-48_Spec-Sheet_v03.pdf. This is the CINEMA 600 Spec Sheet. I owned both sound bars. This is the main thing that the spec sheets don't tell you. The original BAR 48 spec sheet stated that the BAR 48 supports Dolby Digital Plus but it never worked. Dolby Digital Plus can provide CD quality audio but can only be delivered via an HDMI connection because of the higher bandwidth needed. The Cinema 600 spec sheet stated that the Cinema 600 supports Dolby Digital. It makes no mention of Dolby Digital Plus and, in fact, does not support it.
  20. My sound bar will not turn on. I updated the firmware back in July to this version: Bar48_2.4_V30.zip dated May 5 2020 and it was working after that. It was ok yesterday but when I went to turn it on this morning it would not come on - no lights no sound. I tried the factory reset repeatedly - power + source for at least 10 seconds. Unplugged for 1/2 an hour and tried again still nothing. After unplugging and retrying, the sub-woofer started to pop randomly. I've tried it in different outlets that I know are working and tried using the power cord from the sub-woofer. No change. Thoughts...
  21. I think I might have the same problem.... Used my Bar 48 to play music through Bluetooth for a couple hours. Turned it off before going to bed. Woke up the next day to find the blue light on the subwoofer still on and no lights on the sound bar. Normally, it turns itself off after a while there is no signal, but not this time. So I go to turn it on in the morning and nothing happens. I press the power button, then try the power and source together, nothing. Out of desperation I press many many times on the power button and the lights on top faintly flicker and then nothing. However... I've let it sit until tonight. With everything cool to the touch, I plugged the power cable to it just to see if anything has changed. And it did. Rapidly pressing the power button many times now turns it on. The sub pairs to the bar and the left channel works. The remote control also works. The center, the right channel, the volume lights and the icons near the buttons do not. Bluetooth pairs to my phone, the aux cable works and I'll assume the optical output works as well. One more thing: I can turn it on with the remote, the sound bar works for a fraction for a second, the lights flicker and disappear, but the subwoofer keeps on working fine. I've already ordered a new power power supply like the one pictured in the previous posts, maybe that'll fix the issue. Could it be something else more serious?
  22. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/202941-bar-48-no-power-repair-thread/#comment-2666950 Don’t know if I’m doing this right. I am 76 years old and wish I knew what you guys just did to fix your bar 48. Mine just quit two days ago. And I am so lost without it. If I purchased the item from Amazon, take my bar part and replace the old one with the new part, will my bar 48 work? Help!
  23. my ex bought me a bar 48 we split up and I will not reach out to her to ask her for a receipt now the thing had no lights I sold it to the repair shop for $25 because they said there is no repair and they wanted it for parts but now I'm regretting it thinking there might have been a way to have it repaired does anyone have advice for the next time something like that happens and how to find a good repair shop also what is everyone second go to brand I might try B&W for my theater
  24. I have a 2 year old Bar 48 sound bar. The other day it just stopped working, we haven't changed anything with our home setup. It's connected to the TV via optical cable. When we power on the soundbar the status lights will come on initially, then starts flickering and goes out, sound never comes on, it seems the power is still on as we can adjust the volume and when powering off then on again it keeps the same power level, but again no sound comes through The subwoofer light starts flashing blue like it's waiting for a signal from the soundbar but nothing happens. I did try to swap out the optical cable but that didn't fix it, so it seems it's not that and the bar itself has an issue. Anyone experience anything like this before? I've submitted a support ticket (#284599) about a week ago but haven't heard back yet. Also tried calling in the support number but can't seem to get through and get put on hold indefinitely before I have to give up and carry on with my day. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  25. Update Monday 20 January 2020. I received the JBL Bar 5.1 soundbar and subwoofer yesterday. It works right out-of-the-box just like I expected a 5.1 sound system to work and sound in full-time, room-filling 5.1 sound from all sources, both stereo and 5.1 source. Let me repeat that: 5.1 surround sound full-time from all sources, whether stereo music sources or 5.1 video sources. Full-time 5.1 surround sound, loud enough to be heard ALL the time during two 2+ hour movies (Star Wars, The Last Jedi and The Force Awakens). The Klipsch Bar 48 5.1, in comparison, played surround sound barely loud enough for only a few seconds at a time and only during a few loud scenes during the same two 2+ hour movies. Also, Bluetooth paired with no problems to my computer and smartphone (Klipsch Bluetooth failed to connect on 2 of 3 units I tried). After trying three BAR 48s with 5.1 in the last six weeks, the result is obvious to me now: Klipsch fails to deliver 5.1 surround sound on the BAR 5.1, nor do they acknowledge the problems (including Bluetooth failure to pair), nor do they promise a date when it will fully work as well as the competition does right out-of-the-box. Competition 1, Klipsch 0. Game over for me. I'm happy with the JBL Bar 5.1 and will be returning the Klipsch BAR 48 5.1 today. ***** Update 15 January 2020. Where to start? Klipsch has really dropped the ball with the BAR 48, in lack of features and poor quality control. 1) Out of 3 BAR 48s I’ve had in two months, two fail to pair with Bluetooth, including the latest unit. This is a show-stopper for me. I haven’t decided whether to seek a 4th replacement or get a refund and go with a competitor which I know works well and sounds nearly as good. 2) Out of 3 sets of Surround 3 speakers I’ve had, one pair produced static, none are loud enough while playing 5.1 surround videos (such as Star Wars Last Jedi), and none play stereo sources on the S3 speakers louder than a whisper, which I fully expected to enjoy (given that simple car audio and home theater receives plays stereo sources on all speakers using ‘Balance’ for left-right and ‘Fade’ for front-back balance). I may just return them for a refund, since 5.1 is an option for me, as I’m fine with 3.1. 3) I’ve an online support request. The tech said he has forwarded a bug report to engineering. I replied I hope he forwards these concerns to marketing, engineering and manufacturing so they can decide on a competitive feature set and improving product quality. 4) Kudos to Amazon for their extended return/exchange dates during the annual holiday period starting at Thanksgiving (extending normal 30-day returns to January 31). ***** Update Mon Dec 30, 2019, 1200PM PST. In short, I received the replacement BAR 48 (from Amazon), updated the firmware (to v23 of 12/13/2019) and was disappointed (again) the Surround 3 (2nd set) speakers remain whisper quiet even with Dolby Digital and Surround lights on. To add insult to injury, Bluetooth does not connect (Bluetooth on the 1st BAR 48 worked fine to connect to both my Windows 10 computer and Android smartphone). Bottom line, if this were any other brand and I absolutely had to have 5.1 rather than 3.1, I'd shytecan it and never look back, but I'm a long-time fanatic for the Klipsch sound and Klipsch delivers for me again in amazing 3.1 sound from the affordable BAR 48. Having 5.1 with the Surround 3 speakers is an option that doesn't work for me and I'll simply return them for a refund. I can easily exchange the BAR 48 on Amazon again to get Bluetooth back online (Kudos to Amazon. Each year, from Thanksgiving onward, Amazon offers deep discounts and allows returns/exchanges through Jan 31 for almost everything). ***** Update Sun Dec 22, 2019, 1640PM PST. In short, I'm waiting to received a replacement BAR 48, then will test the Surround 3 volume output. I chatted with Amazon tech support, explained everything I have done (firmware update, exchange of Surround 3 speakers). After we tried an HDTV audio out adjustment, they will exchange the BAR 48 for a new one. I should receive the new replacement BAR 48 in a few days. Note: Klipsch tech support has not responded to my online service request in 12 days. ***** Update Dec 21, 2019, 1800PM PST. Bad news for the replacement S3 speakers I received today. I received the replacement Surround 3 speakers, plugged them in and connected them. The low-volume sound problem still exists with this new set of speakers. I have the BAR 48 Surround volume turned up all the way for both channels. I have to put my ear up to the speakers to hear them, which makes them useless. I am confident I properly installed the BAR 48 firmware v23 (dated 12/13/2019) several days ago (all the lights lit up in sequence as the PDF said they would). Update 1830PM. I updated the BAR 48 to firmware v23 again. No change in the low-volume problem. Sigh. ***** Update 12/16/2019: Klipsch just posted a firmware update for the BAR 48, firmware v23, which includes this fix: "Increased Surround Output when Rear Surrounds are present." Ironically, two days ago I returned the Surround 3 speakers and am waiting for a replacement set to be shipped to me for this exact problem. I went ahead and installed the firmware update and will be ready when the Surround 3 speakers arrive. Fellow owners, if you want to try this on your BAR 48 to see if it improves sound volume for the Surround 3 speakers, please post here and let us know your findings. ***** Original Post 12/09/2019: I have a BAR 48 sound bar, which I love. I just added the Surround 3 speaker pair and adjusted the surround volume to maximum, but I can still barely hear the sound. The surround speakers are on my desk. By comparison the BAR 48 across the room drowns out the surround speakers. My BAR 48 firmware was up-to-date out of the box (I just checked in klipsch.com, which said it has the current firmware, v14, released 7/17/2019, region Global). I've adjusted the Surround 3 speaker volume to maximum (using the Surround button on the remote as per the Klipsch PDF). Is there another way to turn up the surround speakers louder? Am I missing something else? Or should I request support from Klipsch?
