  1. After my second BAR 48 died, Klipsch gave me a Cinema 600. It had just become available. Unfortunately, it only lasted a few months. I was then given a Cinema 800. Search these community forums for "Cinema 800" to learn more. Both the Cinema 800 & 1200 have reliability issues too but far fewer than the BAR 48 and the Cinema 600 do. Early firmware updates were a disaster but the latest ones are stable. You should be quite happy with your Cinema 800. I am. 🙂
  2. I don't believe that ARC/eARC is your issue. I have an older Samsung TV that does not have eARC. My Cinema 800 is connected to the TV's HDMI/ARC input and I have full 4K60Hz video. You could have an issue with your TV's HDMI/ARC input. That is why I said: If you used a different HDMI input on your TV when you did your tests, you did not eliminate the TV's HDMI/ARC input as the problem, which has nothing to do with ARC per se. Very true but ARC/eARC is not used for video. The Cinema Series soundbar articles mention eARC because it has the bandwidth required to provide all the audio formats the Cinema 1200 supports as described in Cinema 1200 - Decoding and Playback Modes but that article is a bit misleading. HDMI/ARC has the bandwidth to support a Dolby Digital Plus audio stream which provides higher quality audio (CD quality) when compared to Dolby Digital. Furthermore, Dolby Digital Plus does support Dolby Atmos, albeit at a lower audio quality. Since the Cinema Series soundbars do support Dolby Digital Plus we can listen to Dolby Atmos content via an HDMI/ARC connection as long as the TV can provide it.
  3. Okay, you have confirmed your HDMI cables are good and everything works when the soundbar is out of the equation. Assuming you used the HDMI connection on the TV that the soundbar connects to, that just leaves the soundbar itself. If your soundbar is defective, and still within the warranty period, Klipsch will provide a warranty replacement but they will want evidence of a defect. The results of your tests should provide that evidence. Cinema 700/800/1200 Video Passthrough Capabilities states that the soundbar supports 4k60 passthrough at Chroma 4:4:4. That should be enough to confirm there is an issue with your soundbar. You may be able to learn a bit more if you can determine whether your soundbar can pass through 4k30 passthrough at Chroma 4:4:4 or 4k60 passthrough at Chroma 4:4:2. Either way, you should open a case with Klipsch Product Support and begin a dialog with them.
  4. Ok after quick looking my series x come with an 2.1 ultra high speed HDMI by default as for the one that came with cinema 1200 it only says high speed with Ethernet seems my problem lies there hopes this works
  5. This article has the information you are looking for: Cinema 700/800/1200 Video Passthrough Capabilities The Audio Return Channel (ARC/eARC) is used to pass audio streams to the soundbar when the audio originates from the TV, the TV's external inputs, or any internal apps the TV may have. When the program material originates from the soundbar, as is the case when the source is the soundbar's HDMI1 or HDMI2 inputs, the connection at the TV behaves as a regular HDMI port. The most likely cause your soundbar won't pass through 4k, assuming your TV does support 4K video, is your HDMI cable. All HDMI cables definitely are not created equal. I strongly recommend you use a certified HDMI cable. Considering the small difference in price, I would go with The Ultra High Speed HDMI® Cable. Thanks to the Ultra High Speed HDMI® Cable Certification Program, you can now be sure you are getting a genuine certified cable.
  6. Does anyone have any solutions please I've read around a little and can't find anything specifically for the 1200 I've tinkered with settings on my TV and series x It just simply won't pass through 4k when hooked to the soundbar and soundbar to tv via arc
  7. hi @audiophile18, The Cinema Series soundbars are being phased out and are being replaced with the Flexus Soundbars as @billybob pointed out. The Cinema Series has had its issues: most notable are the many firmware issues and general hardware reliability. The current firmware versions are quite reliable and have addressed most of the issues found in earlier firmware versions. Hardware reliability is another matter. Some owners have had two or three replacements while others have no problems at all (yet). The the most notable remaining issue that affects the Cinema 700, 800, & 1200 is the loss of audio which can be be be restored by power cycling the soundbar. I have a Cinema 800. I still encounter this issue every three or four weeks, much less frequently though than the almost daily occurrence when the issue first surfaced. The other issue involves the centre channel dialog which Klipsch never completely resolved. Very few, if any, of the hardware issues plaguing the Cinema Series soundbars involve the Klipsch speakers. Almost all are due to issues with the electronics. All owners agree: They sound fantastic! I know there are some great deals on Cinema series soundbars now but my advice would be to wait for the Flexus Soundbars. The entry level models will be released first followed by the higher end models a few months down the road, just has Klipsch did with with the BAR series and the Cinema series.
  8. I was gonna get the cinema 700 but decided I wanna go all out I've had my very simple 2.0 Vizio soundbar I got 8 ago it had a sub port and I got a free inifinity bu 120 last year and got a nice taste of home bass before it out of nowhere while not in use made a thump noise and smoked decided I wanna go all out anyone have any opinions or advice for the 1200 read many good reviews but also a concerning amount of negative ones about ranging from it bricking within a few months to a year, audio cutting out, people having to buy smart switches cause they have to unplug it many times etc I'm excited but also nervous anyone own the 1200 could you please share your experience
  9. I'm not sure if this will work, so please bare with me. I had trouble logging in so I found one of my old post to reply to. Life got busy with opening up a cabinet business and I didn't make too many changes to my system. I also haven't been in contact with the good friends and people on this Forum that helped me out with my modifications. I may mention names later. I'm finally going to get into Dolby Atmos and purchased a different processor to do so. Also getting ready to buy some different equipment. Next purchase will be the Magnetar UPD-800 Blu-ray player. I have been trying to purchase some Klipsch Cinema Surround speakers, but I'm having trouble finding a dealer. I have to search a little harder. I'm thinking of the KPT-12-VB, KPT-8-VB, Kpt-1200-VBM . I need 2 surrounds, and I might use them for 4 ceiling mounted Atmos speakers. Have to see what kind of frequency response is actually sent to the those Atmos channels. With these changes I'm going to sell 2 pairs of LaScalas , 1 pair of Klipschorns. The Klipschorns are stock, they used to be my benchmark speaker that I used when modifying other speakers. I havent listened to them in years. The LaScalas are my front and rear height speakers which I can't use as surrounds and ceiling speakers. I'll probably list these in the Garage sale section one of these days before going to eBay. That's all I'm going to say for now. I want to see if this reply post. Then I'll try starting a new one. I have to search the members list to see if some of the old timers like me are still active here. May have to change my old pass word, and email address. Q-Man
  10. I'm new to the brand am gonna probably rock this setup for awhile as I've heavily neglected my home audio for 7 years I've done much research myself into these but want more opinions I would get the higher end cinema 1200 and the rp series sub but that's simply out of my budget any input would be appreciated 😁
  11. try doing a Factory Reset vs updating the Firmware https://support.klipsch.com/hc/en-us/articles/360051253192-Cinema-1200-Factory-Reset
  12. Hi @Spiral and welcome to the Klipsch Community forums. You may want to review these Klipsch Cinema Series support articles. Check the Cinema 1200 - Current Firmware Update Notes and Cinema 1200 - Updating Older Firmware to make sure you have the latest firmware installed. Does this happen when you try to adjust the volume... using the buttons on the soundbar? using the soundbar remote? using the Klipsch app on your smartphone? Do you experience the same behaviour on all of the source inputs?
  13. I just set up my Cinema 1200 and I’m having issues with adjusting the regular volume on the sound bar. I can mute and unmute no problem but the sound will not adjust up or down. It did that when I firt turned it on and when it connected it to my network, that seemed to fix it. The next day after turning on the sound bar, the volume can’t be adjusted?? Any ideas why?
  14. Hi guys, short update about ,what i have noted.i buyed a remote controll for the cinema 1200 from amazon.it is a aftermarket remote for 10.- $ it works well with the soundbar and it does like a normal remote should do.with my old remote ,every evening when i went to bed i switch of the system with the original remote,in the morning the bar was ON.i removed the batteries from the original and placed it the dresser.now when i wake up in the morning the bar is OFF and can be used normaly with the aftermarket remote.thats only what i have figured out but seems that the original remote effects the funktion of the bar, when its not in use! regards to u all
  15. Scored a steal on used 1200 last weekend for $80. Seller mentioned that one speaker in soundbar had a "creaking" sound with piano music. I thought eh I don't listen to piano anyways so no problem. Auditioned at his house and didn't even hear it though his baby was sleeping and volume was not turned up. Fast forward a couple days after I get it home and connected. Thrilled with movies and even music but I'm bored so I think I'm going to look into the piano music issue. Sure enough one of the right drivers in soundbar makes a staticy noise. When I put a slight pressure on cone it goes away. Changed sources and different surround settings but static is still present. Firmware is all up to date. I start googling and apparently piano music is very taxing on speakers so that makes sense why it only happens there. A little more googling and I can't find where anyone has done any type of tear down on the cinema soundbars. I'm the type of guy that can't help myself and love to tinker so my question is - has anyone torn into one of these? If its some type of alignment issue I might be able to make it better or fix completely. To clarify - I think I need access to the drivers to pull and repair.
  16. Hi @nicksri and welcome to the Klipsch Community forums. This thread has a lot of useful information. You can learn a lot about your Cinema 1200 if you read through the posts. The first thing you should do is insure your soundbar has the latest firmware. Klipsch has provided a series of knowledgebase article to address issues with the Cinema 1200. This one may help you: Cinema 1200 - No Audio via HDMI Troubleshooting Unplug your soundbar from the electrical outlet. Wait ~ 15 seconds. Plug your soundbar back into the electrical outlet.
  17. Hi, I live in Thailand and just bought a Cinema 1200. A few days after installation, the sound is not coming out from the soundbar. The sound comes out from the TV internal speaker. I checked and I have the latest firmware version of the 1200. I read in here that I needs to power cycle the soundbar. Could someone let me know what it is meant by power cycle the soundbar and how to do it? I intend to do this first before contacting Klipsch
  18. Hi everyone, I have a Cinema 1200 and I have a problem with subwoofer. It is apparently paired, solid blue ligth and I get message of subwoofer paired on soundbar, but subwoofer does not sound... I have night mode on zero and sub level at +6, but not working... Firmware is up to date. I contacted klipsch support, but they answered to contact local dealer to ask for a repair. Anyone had this issue with subwoofer? Any idea how to solve it? Thanks in advance!

  21. dont wait too long klipsch slashed the price for the 1200 and they're selling out like hotcakes , https://www.klipsch.com/products/cinema-1200-sound-bar-and-surround-system
  22. @Luca Pescatori Welcome to the Klipsch community forums. You can return your soundbar to the retailer from whom you purchased it for a replacement or a refund. If your soundbar is defective open a support case with Klipsch product support and request a warranty replacement. First, though, you should do some basic troubleshooting to isolate the problem. Does this happen only when you you use the analog input or is it the same for all/other input sources? This sounds like a separate issue... Have you read the Cinema 1200 Knowledge Base articles? They may provide some help.
  23. Hello everybody in klipsch community, I am writing here because of an issues with my cinema bar 1200 purchased in November 2023. Actually I am on the latest firmware. When I try to connect and reproduce music from external sound source to cinema bar analog input using RCA to 3.5mm or 3.5 mm to 3.5mm cables I can barely ear sound with the volume of the source and the volume of the cinema bar at max. Furthermore only tweeters of cinema bar are reproducing sound (at low volume), other speakers not working. Is like only very high frequencies are reproduced. Tried to change many sources or cables, make many bar reset, disconnect to AC voltage for some time like an hour, reinstall latest firmware via usb, but the problem persist. I really need the analog input working for my use and I don t won't to use a analog to digital converter to connect to optical or hdmi. I already open a request at klipsch support but nobody answered me. Hope someone can help me with my issue thank in advance and stay loud.
  24. Hi @jonboy604, Welcome to the Klipsch Community forums. While it is impossible to know exactly what is wrong with your soundbar, we do know that the firmware is out of date. When you open a case with Klipsch Product Support the first thing they will want you to do is install the most current firmware. Please see this post and update your firmware. Because this is a demo unit I don't know what the warranty or date of manufacture might be. The Cinema series of soundbars have had their issues. Most of the firmware issues have been resolve with the current version but there may have been other manufacturing defects that have been resolved in more recently manufactured products. If I were to purchase another Cinema soundbar I would not want to purchase a demo unit. If the firmware update doesn't resolve your issue and your soundbar is still under warranty, a warranty replacement from Klipsch is your best option. Your second best option would be to return the demo unit to your retailer for a refund. Another thing you should be aware of: At least one large Klipsch retailer is telling customers that the Cinema 1200 has been discontinued.
  25. I just got my Cinema 1200 demo unit from the store as i thought it would be a safer bet as its working. My firmware seems to be the newest except my SUR T, L, R is 79 not 82. HDMI 42 not 43. I have no idea what difference these numbers do. Today I've noticed it won't turn on unless I unplug it. I think this can be resolved with a smart plug. The issue I worry about is my bluetooth doesn't seem to work. When I hold the remote button for bluetooth, the display says pairing but I can't find the klipsch on my phone, nor my other devices. Anyone else have this issue? Casting seems to work fine though.
