  1. Hello I'm totally new to this, and i want to upgrade my music system. I'm planning on getting 2 R-24fs for my living room (14x13 ft) and a pair of R-15m's or a pair of R-14m's my bed/study room (12x11 ft). I know it might a bit overkill for such a small space, but I'm planning on having these for a while and eventually adding a sub-woofer once i get into a more spacey living situation (and more $). Now my question is. what would be a good receiver/amp, and which would be better for me to get (receiver or amp). I would get them for the sole purpose of listening to music for now. Any comments or ideas on the setup are welcome since i'm a total newb and have no idea what i'm doing. Thanks in advance Edit1: Is a Pioneer 5.1 Channel Reciever VSX-524-K good?
  2. I'm thinking of buying the R-26F pair of speakers, and now i'm looking for a decent amplifier that matches well (in terms of power handling / impedance) with the speakers. What do you say for Marantz PM5005 ? Could you recommend any other value for moeny amplifier that suits well with the R-26F speakers?
  3. Hi guys, I recently acquired another UPA-1 that I was going to use for a center speaker but with my new XPA-5 it now becomes expendable. It works flawlessly but has a few smudges and imperfections. I believe it puts out 200 wpc @8ohms and offers both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA's. Here are some Googled pictures of the front and back as I cannot find my camera right now. I have bought and sold many things here in the forum. Asking $200 shipped in the lower 48. PM me if interested! Thanks, Tim

  5. I am getting a pair of 845 amps so time for these Cary mono blocks to find a new home. These are 20 watts of pure class A single ended amplification. The 572-3 is a low-mu audio triode with a thoriated-tungsten filament, graphite anode and hard glass. The amps were recapped and upgraded to Hexfred's at Cary in August of 2013 (invoice included). You get the two mono block amplifiers, two Shunyata power cords, owner's manual, a full compliment of tubes and these extra tubes: one SV-572-3 ($164 from New Sensor), one 5R4GYB, two 6BL7, and two 6SL7. They will ship in original factory cartons (double boxed). Asking $1800 plus shipping.
  6. For sale... Crown XTI 1000... $215 cash or $225 through PayPal (plus shipping)... Willing to ship (from Zip Code 75052 to the CONUS 48 only) through FedEx Ground... It is also available for local pickup in the DFW metroplex... I bought this amp a few years ago through the forum and I am the second owner. I had planned to use it for a subwoofer project, but that never materialized after I picked up a couple of SVS subs locally. Based on my discussions with the original owner and my own use, it probably has less than 100 hours on it total. Although I never used it with a subwoofer, I have played with it a bit, driving a pair of KLF-20's. These are really nice little amps and the built in electronic crossovers/filters provide a lot of flexibility. Unfortunately it has been sitting unused, and boxed up, for over a year... and I no longer have any use for it. The amp is like new, with no scratches or other issues. I have the original Crown box, foam inserts, etc. The original owner shipped it to me with no problems and I would ship it in the original box as well. It was, and will be, very well protected. If anyone would like to see photos or has any questions, I'd be happy to reply here via post or PM, or I can contact you via email... Thanks, Tony
