Asking $2200 Circa 1980s Walnut finish Excellent working condition All original parts, nothing has been changed or replaced. There is a slight discoloration on the top of one of them (as noted in the last picture), but it is not very noticeable. Each picture is a different speaker. If the color looks off, it is just because of the lighting. Both speakers are matching in color. Pickup only. I'm in Charlotte, NC.

These speakers came with my house and were clearly treasured by the original owner. Sadly, they are wasted on me and are now seeking a good home. I have read thru the forums so have some (very) limited knowledge about what they are. The Klipschorn pair have consecutive serial nos. 8P125 & 126 and are the model KB-BR which I think means Birch. They might have been the unfinished models and the owner added the finish (note that in the attached pics it looks like they don't match but they do). They are in very good condition. However, we were not as good caretakers as the owner and they do have some small fraying of the speaker material on the very back edge. The 1957 Shorthorn is model SPI-15 and serial 803. This is also in very good condition. There are some very small pulls in the material on the front and a minor scratch on the top. Additionally there is a 4th speaker that I know pretty much nothing about. All the speakers were checked recently by an audio tech and found to be in good working order. I have attached some pictures. They are available for inspection & pickup from Wilmington, NC. I will consider all reasonable offers. Please let me know if you have questions or need add'l pix. My parents are roller skating rink operators and they are getting out of the business. We are selling all of our speakers, which are made by yours truly, Klipsch. We have 6 Lascalas and 2 MCMS. All are in great working condition!! No visible wear and tear on the casings of the speakers, just a bit of dust. We would like $7000.00. If you are looking for just a pair of Lascalas, we would like $900.00 a pair. For the MCM pair we would like $3000.00. We are able to deliver, if close by or we would hire a trucking company. Today I picked up a second Maple RSW-15 and need some advice on placement. In a few months, I will redesign my front wall and have the LaScala Trio behind a 150" AT Screen. The subs will either go directly beneath the LaScalas in the corners or I can place them in between the LaScalas (behind the new false wall). The right RSW-15 is usually located behind the door that is directly behind it. When I went to put the left RSW-15 behind the door that is directly behind it, the subwoofer would not fit. Long story short, I would need to build a platform like I did on the right side for it to fit. Since the LaScalas will temporarily remain in front of the current false wall, I have 3 options for placement of the subs: Option 1: Add a shelf for the 2nd Subwoofer so that it fits inside the cabinet. Option 2: Put both subs in the corners behind the Left and Right Door on the False Wall. Only problem with this is that the Left and Right LaScala will be about 8 inches in front of it. Not sure how that will effect the sound. Option 3: Leave them where they currently are in the photos below out in the middle of the room. Again, this is only temporary placement....just seeking some advice on what might sound best.

I've been so pleased with the performance of the RSW-15, I decided to purchase it's identical twin! I've passed on several RSW-15's that were out of state due to not wanting to ship this beast. What is the likelihood of finding another Maple RSW-15 locally? Guess about the same likelihood of me finding a single LaScala to use as a center channel. I purchased the sub from it's original owner. The twin is in excellent condition with only minor scratches on the top of the cabinet. Both woofers are in fantastic shape. The speaker grill had all 4 pegs broken and the previous owner used white glue to secure machine screws to the grill so the white shows through the grill. Will likely throw the grill away since I don't use them and it's in pretty rough shape. I haven't cranked them up yet as I need some suggestions regarding placement. I'll start a separate thread in the subwoofer section though.

So I have a pair of RF-42ii and a Dayton 1200 sub for my TV. I've been having huge trouble with receivers and have gone through 4 different ones until I finally ended up getting the Denon X2000. This may sound crazy but with the cheaper receiver I had - AVR E200 and AVR E300 on these same towers the sound was a lot more "open" and seemed to "surround me" this was most noticeable when listening to music. It was just more enjoyable listening to music. I don't know what the reason for this could be but right now it feels like when I listen to music as if someone has put a barrier in between the speakers and my ears. It's hard to explain the difference but it's a significant difference. Could this be down to EQ? I played around with the EQ and it did make it sound a little bit more "open" but it still doesn't get anywhere close to how it felt when listening with the E200/E300. E200 doesn't have audyysey mic, but E300 does. I used it for E300 and it sounded great. Question is less of which receiver is better quality but more of how do I get that same "room-filling" experience. I hope its simply down to room eq. Thanks a ton

I have had these for awhile but never took them out of the box except to photo. Can provide photos on request but I am having trouble attaching to this post. Was going to use them in a new house but we never got approved to buy. Serious surround sound from these bad boys! They are black so they blend with any decor. So I'm a total noob and need some assistance from the community here... I've got the most basic setup possible, however I still can't figure out how to maximize my speaker's potential! I've recently acquired a set of RB-35 bookshelf speakers and have set them up to my VSX-822 receiver. The receiver is a 5.1 channel, however I only have these two speakers and my dad took back his DOGG floor speakers... Anyways, I currently have them Bi-wired (at least I think so?) to the L and R on the receiver. There are still 3 open ports for a center and 2 surround... The back of the RB-35s have dual binding posts. I'm currently at work but found this picture on Google that is exactly how I have mine setup currently: [see attached] So am I best off with this setup? The single wire essentially comes from the L output of the receiver, and splits to both binding posts on the speaker... Same for the R speaker. Or should I run a separate wire from the L to the bottom or top binding post, then a separate wire from the L surround to the bottom or top binding post? I figured that would be too much power to the speaker and damage my goods... Any help would be greatly appreciated! I can take better pictures when I get home if needed! Thanks guys! BTW, I know I probably need more speakers in my setup... I'm saving up for a Klipsch center, but just graduated college and money is tight right now so speakers are last on my list unfortunately

Hi Guys, I recently got into the world of klipsch with RF-42ii's and my parents were in the market for a surround sound system and I talked them into purchasing the RB51ii system with: RB51ii (fronts) RC52ii (center) RS42ii (surrounds) The only part that is remaining is the subwoofer. I haven't heard great things about the Klipsch SW110 - pros/cons? Also any other sub in the 500 dollar region that would be really good? I've heard a lot about the SVS Subs. Room is 400sqft and is a perfect square. It has marble flooring and a lot of hardwood/glass furniture. Also would the new klipsch reference subs be any good? KLIPSCH R10SW/R12SW? There are no reviews since I believe they are yet to be released? Thanks a ton guys

Hi Guys, I just put together my first 2.1 system for my television with the Klipsch RF-42ii + Martin Logan Dynamo 300. It's my first ever sound system and I'm glad it was from the Klipsch reference line. They sound incredible! Alright, now to the tough part: I originally had a Denon AVR-E200 hooked up to these speakers (yes I know it's an incredible cheap receiver, but I initially picked it up to go with Pioneer SPFS52 towers which I got rid of cause the Klipsch blew me away) then I upgraded to an Onkyo TX-NR525. It seems that with this new receiver over long periods of listening my ears start to fatigue and hurt. I never experienced this with my Denon receiver and I listened to these speakers for hours on end with those. My question, is this all in my head or do Onkyo receivers really pronounce high frequencies which combined with the klipsch towers just cause ear fatigue? If you guys could recommend a good AVR to pair with these towers I would be grateful! Please keep in mind I have a tight budget, don't want to go over 300 USD. I like a nice warm sounding receiver, but wouldn't mind a nice neutral receiver. Feel free to let me know if its all in my head or if there is any real substance to what I am experiencing.

So my son and I purchased Need for Speed tonight. The wife was heading to bed so that meant the RSW-15 would have to go night night as well since she is such a light sleeper. I switched the LaScalas to Full Range since the sub was turned off. You probably know how I have shared how unimpressed I've been with the bass response from the LaScalas. Tonight, my faith in their low frequency performance has been renewed! We had it at a descent level and I kept finding myself smiling from ear to ear like a little kid on Christmas morn. As the cars raced by and panned from speaker to speaker, the LaScalas continued to impress me with clarity and for the first time, in low frequency. It was so lifelike and immersive that both my son and I kept commenting how sweet it sounded even without the sub. There were a few LFE drops that the LaScalas handled wonderfully smooth without distortion albeit not the slam I get from the RSW-15. When the Army Helicopter pulls up from the ridge in the "Hooking Up" scene, the sound of the rotors of the copter was truly stunning. The more I listen to the LaScalas, the more I confirm that they are a HUGE upgrade from my previous RF-83 / RC-64.

Dear all, Just to give an update... Finally my 1981 Cornwalls that I got from ebay are arrived. They came in extremely well packaged. They have travelled from US all the way down to here in the sandpit, almost half of the globe. Both are still in their original crossovers & drivers. Some scratches & dings on the veneer on both speaker but it's not so visible from seating position. I've been using 2-ch of RF62 for the last 6 years & these are my 1st Cornwalls ever. My set up are Denon 2809 receiver which goes through the VTA SP12 pre-amp & Latino's ST120 amp. Mostly I listen to jazz & classic using AppleTV (Flac), all using only 2-ch fronts. I placed those Cornwall right next to the wall on the side and around 60cm from the rear wall with toe-in about 45 deegrees to my listening position. Distance are around 3.5m between the CWs and 3m from each to my seating position. Compare to the RF62, at the same volume level & tone control set up, these Cornwall bring up more details, bass and wider sound stage. The bass is huge as to my taste and it's not boomy. The last two days i've been listening for at least 4-6 consecutive hours and it wasn't fatiguing. When i played Norah Jones' "Seven Year", the sounds of the hands on the strings can be heard in more details. Roberta Flack's voice was heard just like she sing up in front of me. The sound of Coltrane's sax also much more details & I could hear some of his breaths in between the passages. So far I love the way those 2 CWs sounding & I will do some upgrades on the crossover as well as the driver, but not in the near future. Several years ago, I had the opportunity to hear Jeff Hoak's LaScalas and they were beautiful sounding speakers. I had the chance to pick up a pair recently and had TOTALLY forgot how large they were. LOL. These have an absolutely beautiful finish. Other than a few small nicks near the bottom of the cabinets, they are in amazing condition for a 34 year old speaker. Everything looks original and they have AA Crossovers. Serial Numbers are Sequential. Based on the serial number, they are Vintage 1980. There weren't any stickers on the back so I'm not sure of the style these (not even sure what different variety LaScalas came in. I have no idea what finish these are in or if they were stained at one time. Feel free to help educate me on these because I know little to nothing about them. I've been listening to a variety of source material. Youtube and streaming and Airplay from my cell phone sound like garbage on them. Haha. I think it's because they are just very revealing? Once I hooked up Dave Matthews, Eagles and a few other concert DVD's, they sounded very nice. I've always heard guys speak of how the 3-way heritage speakers have better midrange. I've owned Forte II and Chorus II and I thought those were "heritage" but later found out they weren't part of the heritage series. I never felt they blew away my RF-83's in the midrange department. The LaScalas definitely have a better midrange though. That midrange horn is HUGE! The throat on the horn is 2ft deep. It's very smooth and vocals sound amazingly natural. Bass from the LaScalas in my HT is extremely weak. I even turned the crossover for my mains to Full and they were still weak. I've always heard guys say that about the LaScalas and there are a few that "claim" the LaScalas have plenty of bass. Sorry, that's just not the case in my room. Over the next week, I want to move them into my living room (wife has to leave for a few hours to do that). I want to see how bass sounds with hardwood floor and how they sound in a very open floorplan layout. No worries as long as you have a capable sub. My RSW-15 provided plenty of low end to allow the LaScalas to really shine. Movies sounded amazingly clear and precise. Very detailed. My next step is to do some A/B comparison between the LaScalas and the RF-83's to see how they directly compare to each other. Because the LaScalas do not have banana plugs, I have a set of speaker cables hooked up to the RF-83's and a second set hooked up to the LaScalas and will have to change the cables on the back of the amp. It should be another fun comparison. Here are some pics I took of them tonight.

This is a beautiful pair of Medium Oak Oil Finish Klipsch Chorus I speakers. Originally sold for $1758. We are selling these for $870.00 The pair is from 1989 with consecutive serial numbers - 8912545 & 8912546. The grills are in excellent condition. The cabinets are in great shape as well; has some minor scratches. See the photos.
