UPDATE: October 11, 2018 McIntosh Laboratory, Binghamton, NY Skip to page ___ for photos of the McIntosh tour Great American Audio Factory Tours Many, many of you have taken tours of the premier American Audio factories across the USA, including the tour of the Klipsch factory in Hope Arkansas. I started this thread for people to share their American audio factory tour experiences with us, both narrative and especially with photographs. Richard Groves @guywithwine (Klipsch Museum of Audio History Founders Circle member and Fundraising Standing Committee Chairman) recently took a tour of the Cary Audio factory in Raliegh, North Carolina, so I thought we would start with Cary Audio because it is recent, and Cary Audio has been a great partner with Klipsch at shows such as CES when they both want to show off their great sounding stuff. Bruce @Marvel is going to try and set up a tour of the Western Electric tube making factory in his area and, if they let him, share his experiences and photographs here as well. Back to Cary Audio. When Richard was taken into their the listening room at Cary Audio he was pleasantly surprised to see that he would be listening to the highly regarded Cary amps and preamps through a set of of handmade in the USA speakers a few of you might be familiar with. American high-end audio and the factories they are made in. More to come . . . .

I have an excellent pair of Forte I's that have been upgraded with Bob Crites crossovers and diaphragms. Original parts included. I bought these just before I found a pair of Cornwall's. So they have been used very little. I am the second owner. Unfortunately the original owner removed the serial number tags. $750. I also am selling a beautiful Mcintosh MC7200. Serviced about 3 years ago (1 bulb changed and re-biased). It comes with a beautiful condition Mac wood cabinet. $2000. Lasting I'm selling a excellent condition Mcintosh CV34V pre-amp. $1100. It also comes with a beautiful wood cabinet. Mcintosh boxes and owners manuals included. If you aren't interested in the wood cabinets on either piece I'll knock off $100. I'm located in Waukesha, WI. Local pickup. Cash only. Sorry, no trades. Oh yea, I have a pair of custom made speaker stands for Klipsch KG4's that I'll include for free if interested.

Hello everyone. First post. Recently purchased a new home and EVENTUALLY plan to build a dedicated theater and have 3 or 4 audio zones (maybe more) for music throughout the house. Would love some advise/ input on equipment. So far I have accumulated; rp280f, rp450c, rp250s (price matching @ bestbuy whenever frys or amazon went on sale). All speakers sit idle and have never been used. Was going to pull trigger on flagship avr but feel like it would be sad to invest thousands for a future paperweight. Also, given my "eventual" plans, I will need additional amplification anyway. So I thought a separate amp with a mediocre or used processor would be a decent start. Mcintosh caught my eye for thier looks and reputation, but am I crazy given the sensitivity of my speakers? I thought to start I would buy a newMc152 along with a used processors or avr then add from there. All comments & suggestions welcome and hope some has experience with pairing these speakers with mcintosh products. Peace & Love. Peace & Love.

I bought this amplifier new from a friend 2 months ago, I broke the original box seal myself, and set it up with my Klipsch La Scalla II's II. I truly loved the sound, but I felt I would have to buy a matching tube pre amp for it, and do not want to spend the money. Decided to go with an Integrated PrimaLuna Dialogue HP (tubes) and Although the MC275 sounded better with the La Scalla's, the PL is a bit more functional for my situation I have less then 30 hours conservatively speaking of use on it. it works great. I have all original boxes and accessories, it works like a champ. Nothing has been changed on it, just plugged it and connected to my speakers. Hope someone will find a loving home for this beautiful baby. It is worth every penny you pay for it. Pm if interested. Pictures to follow soon.

Hello, I'm selling a beautiful pair of Mcintosh MC30's to free up audio budget money. These have been professionally electrically restored by a local reputable tech. All new film and electrolytic caps; out of spec resistors were replaced. I've been running them with my Cornwall 3's and they are a magnificent pairing. Serial #'s are 18584 and 19875. These were built back in 1959 or thereabouts; cosmetically they're all original. See photos, cosmetically I'd conservatively rate them 5/10 for some minor (not deep) pitting in the chrome and other minor scratches in the powder coat. Some elbow grease and a bottle of brasso goes a long way and they shine and sparkle from a couple feet away. I'll post more pictures (including the guts) tonight when I get home. It turns out i need to resize all my pictures, they're all almost 2mbs. Everyone has their favorite tubes and I have extra NOS tube sets that can be included in the sale for a reasonable price. I'm a new member on this forum and have no posts or feedback. My handle on ebay is barleybluebee and audiogon is boodledude; both show a long history of only positive feedback. I haven't listed these on the other sites yet but plan on doing so this week when time permits. I much prefer meeting in person since these would need wood crates to ship. I live in New Hampshire and can deliver within about 250 miles. I'd consider shipping at the buyer's cost, crated and insured. Probably a couple hundred bucks. I bought these a couple of years ago from a local seller for $2800. I've put about $1000 in parts and labor in these to restore the electronics professionally. I played around with swapping out different caps and the orange drops are the best sounding. I have some extra parts including some extra caps and resistors along with a pair of tagboards in case you ever want to rebuild the circuit from scratch. I'm looking to get $3000 for the pair including the current tubes that are installed. Spare parts will be included; additional tube sets are extra $$. Tubes all have very low hours and are all NOS except the 12AX7's which are Prima Luna brand from Upscale Audio.

For sale is this fully serviced pair of McIntosh MC30 mono block amplifiers, widely considered to be among the best tube amplifiers ever made. The amps were thoroughly serviced by a superb vintage tube tech about six months ago. The amps have been brought fully into spec and up to date for safe operation. The amps were also fully re-tubed using carefully selected new old stock tubes (an expensive undertaking). They operate perfectly and sound fantastic. I thought I'd never sell them, but I need to downsize. The amps come with two sets of output tubes: NOS GE 6L6 metal-case tubes (the same type McIntosh initially included with them) and new production Tung-Sol 7581A's, which are really nice tubes. Both sets have less than 20 hours of use on them, so you will be set for tubes for many years to come. The amps are in above-average cosmetic shape, showing some slight pitting in the chrome, which is typical of McIntosh amps of this vintage. For this plug-and-play pair of awesome MC30s, I'm asking $2600.

The amps have been in my possession for less than a year. They have just returned from out Houston, TX area McIntosh tech. He refreshes anything that he feels is out of spec. Located in Houston Texas, I'm glad to demo them. Contact me with questions. The amps are in similar enough condition that I am pricing them each at $3,100 exclusive of any shipping. I would prefer local pickup, but will consider shipping. More Photos Here

I am interested in a clean McIntosh MC225 all original and in Excellent condition only +/- $$ trade in equipment would be great. Tubes not necessary but would be welcome. No Russian or Chinese tubes please. For possible trade I have a set of MC30's, brought up to specs by the Audio Doctor in Phoenix and the same for all but the Fisher unit. Invoices would be available. Also have MC300 w/ MX132 A/V both units in Mint condition with boxes, MC240 and (2) Fisher 500C and (1) Fisher 500b. Also would consider my MX110Z recently serviced and up to spec except (Audio Doctor) the FM, also in excellent condition. I don't use the radio so didn't bother with that although it works well. This is a long shot I know but.. I'm in Tucson AZ. and would prefer a hand off so nothing gets damaged in shipping. Please PM if interested.

For sale is this awesome McIntosh C20 tube preamplifier, considered by many to be the finest tube preamp McIntosh ever made. It has been thoroughly cleaned and serviced by an exceptional tube tech with all voltages checked and confirmed to be within spec. All controls have been cleaned and work perfectly/silently. Cosmetically, it's in very good condition but does have some oxidation and pitting on the top and back, which is typical of these older Macs. The faceplate is clean with no cracks. All of the tubes test strong and should be good to go for years to come. I believe the 12AX7s and 12AU7s are Telefunkens, but I can't be 100 percent sure. The silkscreening has worn off them, but they have the telltale Telefunken diamond in their bottoms. I've been using this amp daily and it sounds fantastic. It's plug-and-play and ready for a new home. Asking $2650. I'm in Northern Virginia and would prefer a local sale, but I'm willing to ship if necessary. I'd prefer a cash deal, but I might consider a trade or partial trade for the right speakers.

This is a BRAND NEW SEALED in box McIntosh MX151 preamp receiver. Feel free to ask any questions. Asking $6000. Shipping included to the continental USA. I have references from fellow forum members that have purchased from me in the past if needed. I am located in Northern CA for local pickup and willing to ship if needed. Have receipts as well. UPDATE: I can crack it open and take pictures of everything. Just thought it might be more appealing for the buyer if it is completely virgin and untouched. It has full warranty for 3 years from 4/14/2017. Would consider a trade for a newer MC275

Greetings all, Seeking consensus regarding using a high pass or full range for my subwoofer. Two different techs at the subwoofer manufacturer garnered two different responses. McIntosh rep says high pass. Seems to me on a "common sense" level that filtering all that signal through the sub , then back to the main amp would degrade that "McIntosh sound". Thank you in advance. I don't know much but I'm learning. System: McIntosh MA5200 100 watt Heresy III speakers SBS SB-2000 500 watt, 1100 peak

Greetings all, Can anyone share your experience, thoughts and/or opinions concerning matching a new solid state McIntosh MA5200 with Heresy III speakers? You input is greatly appreciated!
