Hello all, I'm pretty new to the audio community in terms of speakers and I need a little help. What receiver would be best for my setup in the 300-500 dollar range. I want a receiver more preferably on the music side instead of movies. My speakers are all Klipsch and I attached their specs. Hello! I've recently purchased the 'Klipsch The One' and now I'm trying to figure out how to connect it to an old 70s receiver (pioneer sx750). Since speakers can just be connected to my receiver with stripped cables, and "The One' has just a mini-jack port, I'm wondering how would be the best way to plug it. Please see attachment. Hey Community, I have been looking for a replacement for my Technics sa-818 that has been giving me issues with repair cost greater than I am willing to spend. My last two vintage receivers have cost $ to maintain so I am looking to purchase new / refurb with a $700 budget. I have been looking at the following. Emotiva PT-100 + A300 Yamaha A-S801 Marantz PM7005 Marantz PM6006 I use the DAC in my Pioneer N-50 so if you have any preamp suggestions that do not include a DAC I would be ok with it. System includes a U-turn Orbit turntable with a Grado Prestige Blue1, Pioneer DV-45A for CD/SACD playback, Pioneer N-50, Forte ( Bob Crites TI diaphragms & updated crossovers) Any thoughts our suggestions?

Hi! I'm looking for some advice on receivers, I'll admit my HT audio knowledge is rudimentary.. (working on fixing that ) A while back I had bought the Onkyo TX-NR646 for its Atmos compatibility, this was when I had the smaller size of Klipsch RP speakers. I've since upgraded my setup to 5.2.2 - L/R Klipsch RF 7II, center RC-64II, surround RS-62II, atmos RP-140SA and 2x SVS SB2000 subs. I realize Klipsch speakers are considered conservative as far as power is concerned, but would I notice an improvement in audio quality if I upgraded my receiver? I was considering the Denon AVR-X4200W to this end as well as being able to step up to 7.2.2 I will admit, it's hard for me to imagine these speakers sounding better. When my SO and I first listened to them they took our breath away. It truly felt like there weren't speakers in the room, rather the MOVIE was happening in the room! We're now Klipsch fans for life. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Also, I mainly use the speaker setup for movies and games.

Hello, I have already blown a denon receiver so I'm wondering after much research what receiver would be best for my setup. Not necessarily looking for a certain brand just what power or watts per channel i need etc. I have all Klipsch: 1 x R-110SW , 2 x R24F , 1 x R25C. Maybe I had something setup wrong on the original receiver, idk. I also don't remember what exact receiver I had but I know it was a Denon 5.1. I'll be adding to the setup in the future as well. 2 more surround sound speakers. Any input is wanted. Thanks in advance! Jamey

I wasn't actively looking but I had my eye out for a CR-2040 for years. I finally picked one up here recently with a case that was scuffed up a bit and a few marks on the face plate. I removed the knobs and did a light treatment with the magic eraser to find that the face place and controls were perfect! Hmmm... I'm going to have to make the cabinet match! Anybody who thinks Yamaha doesn't have low end hasn't heard the 2040! It was sounding pretty good but there was that familiar grainy sound that I've heard from other tired old caps so I took the electronics to @paul79 at Many Moons Audio for a complete rebuild. While the innards are at Paul's for a spa treatment that will give me plenty of time to get the cabinet fixed up. Well, that empty cabinet has been staring at me long enough so I guess I will get started.

Hello everyone! *ABOUT ME, SKIP DOWN FOR MY TOPIC* New to the forum, but I actually just got into Klipsch! My step dad has had the Quintet III for years now and he loves it and I admit it sounds damn good. Before I have what I have now, I owned the Polk Audio RM6750 surround system. It was a basic 5.1 channel with a small subwoofer. I used all of the surround speakers but never used the sub or the center channel. After hearing my step dad's set up, and with his Klipsch Sub10, I ended up building my own. It was during the time I loved building speakers, so I ordered the woofer off of eBay, bought a plate amp and port, and built it to the spec's of his. It turned out great! Also I custom built my center channel with speakers from HiVI, and crossover'd them. I had them all running through an older Yamaha 6.1 Receiver! Currently, this is what I have: Current Setup Klipsch R-15m --- Mains (2) Klipsch R-14m --- Surrounds (2) Custom HiVI --- Center Polk Audio PSW505 --- Subwoofer Pioneer Elite VSX-94TXH --- Receiver HISENSE 55h8c 4k --- Television So overall, my setup is decent however there are some problems with it. I've been looking everywhere for a suitable replacement for the receiver and I've come up with nothing in my price range really. The guy is a beast what can I say! The sound is very clear, it pushes 140 watts at 8 ohms which is rare to find because everything now says "WOW 250 watts in every channel! *in fine print* at 6 ohms! So now reduce the power a lot to get the 8 Ohms. The THX certification is a nice feeling to have even though the speakers aren't, and just overall it's very easy to use. Problem being, I'm trying to get a little more modern. The Elite only has HDMI 1.3 I believe, which doesn't support 4K pass-through. My question being, what would be a good upgrade receiver wise to give me similar sound/plus having 4K pass-through? OR, I have been considering if I went with a power amplifier and a cheaper receiver to do the same thing while allowing me to get 4K pass-through. I have looked into Emotiva, Rotel, Parasound and so on and all of them are quite expensive of course for a 5 Channel amp. Is any of this worth it? Or should I continue just running all of my stuff to my TV then exporting through optical? Thank you for reading, hope you have a good day! - Josh

I have a Denon AVR-X3300W receiver. It has 7 Channels, 105 Watts RMS, and 4 Ohm Impedance. The speakers I have right now are as follows: 2xRP-260F (Front left and right) 1xRP-440C (Center) 2xRP-240S (Surround left and right) 1xR-115SW (Sub) I was wanting to hook this system up in a larger room in the basement. This is a larger room so I was hoping to add 2xRP-150M speakers in the rear and 2xCDT-5650-CII in ceiling speakers. I was hoping that the channels going to the two surround 7.1 speakers in the back could also push the in ceiling speakers however I don't want to under power any of the speakers or hurt the receiver. Does anyone know if this is possible to do or would i need to buy a new receiver to accomplish this task?

Hey guys, My Pioneer Elite VSX receiver just died with the dreaded UE22 error. Thinking about buying the Denon AVR-X3300W receiver for 600 bucks. Im currently using 2x RF7 towers 1x RC7 center 2x RS25 surrounds 2x RSW12 subwoofers (maybe just one in the future). Thinking I can bi-amp the front towers if needed. What do you guys think of this pairing and the receiver in general?

Fisher 400 Receiver, restored to excellent condition by none other than Mr. NOSValves. I had looked for a while to get a really nice unit to start with and then had Craig work his magic on it with a complete deluxe rebuild with a basic MPX alignment. The end result is an awesome receiver that should be good for the next 30 years. The work was done one year ago and it has served as a spare bedroom system, so it doesn't have a lot of hours on it since the restore. Why would I sell it? My stereo rooms are disappearing as we downsize; next year we'll have 3 kiddos in college - yes at the same time. The same reason my StarChiefs left the other day, and Blueberry Extreme last month. The Fisher 400 is a 65 watt FM Stereo receiver. It has enough power to rock any Klipsch speakers, and it sounds incredible. It is a cosmetically good unit. Price is $700 plus shipping. You can not buy a nice unit with case and have it restored for this. Local pickup and a nice test / listening session is welcome. I could also meet somebody on the west side of Chicago next week Wednesday / Thursday as I'll be in town for work. I live in Des Moines.

Hello everyone, I am somewhat new to the home theater world so please pardon some of my ignorance. During recent sale at adorama, I bought a pair of RP-280f (mains), RP-450c (center). I also bought RP-160m as part of that bundle but they are too big for rear speakers so I am planning to sell those and get the rp series surround speakers at a later date (maybe next year). i (will be) using the speakers 60-70% of the time for music. Considering that, what receiver do you recommend for my speakers (Rp-280f, RP-450c). My living room is probably around 20 ft wide, 16 ft long (bot no wall at the back so if I add the kitchen, it is probably 26 ft long). I am hoping to spend around $900 for receiver. Let me know what you guys recommend. I looked at Denon AVR-X3300W which seemed like a good option from my limited knowledge. I don't plan to blow up the speakers so i thought I don't need to match the 150W of rp-280f. Or will I damage with a receiver that has 100-125W (at 8 ohms) per channel? Also I have been told that cables are a big deal so I need to get good quality cables. Do you have any recommendation for those (including any websites)? Dumb question but do I also need banana plugs? I really appreciate y'all taking time and replying to my questions. Thanks!!!!

I recently purchased a set of the Klipsch KB-15 Icon Series bookshelf speakers. I used 18 gauge speaker wire hooked up to a 200Watt Sherwood receiver with a Sony turntable connected to a Memorex pre-amp. For some reason, I am not hearing the crisp sound that Klipsch is known for and am wondering if it is my system? The speakers are a maximum of 85 Watts each and I believe 8 ohms. Any advice or insight from the community would be greatly appreciated.

Hello All. Searched the forums but couldn't quite find what I was looking for so hopefully someone out there can point me in a good starting direction. Before getting into the details of the problem, I'm running a B&K AVR507 receiver with nothing in between. No EQ, DSP, nothing. It's a HT receiver, but I have it set up for 2 channel stereo music and no sub output turned on. I originally had RF-7s connected to the receiver and sold them a few years back. It was a financial thing and honestly, the RF-7s were so harsh they would actually give me a headache if I listened for more than 30 mins. I replaced them with a pair of Polk Rti8s. The Polks were kind of, well, average at most things. Sounded ok but muddy at times and took a lot of amp power to get the volume up. I also had to dial down the bass setting or the Polks were complete mud. Soooo, just replaced the Polks with some Klipsch Fortes which I expected to sound an awful lot like the Heresy speakers I bought way back in the day except with more bass. What I have is, well, I have no clue. As expected, it doesn't take much power to get volume, but I have the receiver bass setting maxed out and I still don't get much of any bass from the Fortes (not thinking of bass in terms of giant subs used for hip-hop/rap...just like a bass drum sounding like one). Guitar and brass sounds pretty decent, but nothing else. It's really ugly when playing rock. I'm also getting a ton of the dreaded snake hisses on lyrics starting with an "S." Crossover and tweat upgrades aside (because I'm not sure it would directly affect these issues?) I just don't get it. The radiators are in tact and woofers seem to be woofing, but the speakers sound terrible. My Fortes sound worse than stuff I've heard on the shelf at Costco. I mean really, really bad. Any ideas? Thoughts? Holy water? 5 gallons of gas and a match? Thanks.

I am not the original owner. I purchased this receiver in October 2016. I've used it for the last few months connected to a pair of cornwall II's. Awesome receiver that will drive pretty much anything. Only reason I am selling is due to its size. It does not fit where the receiver should with the media system I use. Hi, I currently have Onkyo NR609 driving 2 fronts - RP280fs and 1 center speaker - 450c. I really like our system so far but not sure if Onkyo Nr 609 is good enough for my speakers. 1. Considering upgrade to either Denon X4300h or Onkyo RZ810/RZ800. Does anyone have any feedback which one will be better? Our usage is 60 % music and 40 % movies. 2. Anyone compared Onkyo NR series with RZ series receivers and has any feedback on audio quality/clarity differences between them? Any pointers much appreciated.

I'm currently running an all Klipsch 7.2 setup for my home theater and have been looking at upgrading my current AVR to take advantage of the new sound mixes now available (ie. Atmos, DTS:X, Auro 3D). I have been doing lots of research all over and I'm having a very hard time making a decision. I am needing some recommendations from all of you but I'd like to avoid "fanboy" recommendations. I know this may sound silly or somewhat counter-productive when asking for recommendations, but I want the advice to be based on both the kind of hardware I am currently running and also on objective information. Just because someone has always purchased a specific brand for 20+ years should not be the only reason/justification as to why they recommend it. I know MANY of you have a wealth of knowledge; far more than me, on what the pros and cons are of various brands/models and can also explain objectively what I can expect with a certain option. I also am not looking to go crazy expensive with flagship models and because of this, going with brands like Anthem or Emotiva are probably out of the equation. As of recent, I have been entertaining Pioneer, Marantz, and possibly Onkyo again (not Integra just because it's Onkyo with nothing other than a different name and higher price). My concern with Onkyo has been there prolonged history of bad boards having faulty HDMI outs (seems like this is going on like 5 yrs, yes?). I will add though that my only experience has been Onkyo - I've been pleased with the sound but wouldn't know what I am potentially missing out on since I have not heard another brand. And in doing my research I have found many mixed review regarding some of their recent models (ie. 646, 656, 747, 757), and many people stating that the build quality has gone down hill. Is this really so? So, here is my current setup to give you all an idea: Klipsch RF-7ii (L/R) Klipsch RC-64ii (C) Klipsch RS-62ii x4 (SS/RS) Klipsch RW-12D x2 (subs) Onkyo TX-NR709 AVR Oppo BDP-103D I was hoping to keep my budget under or around $800 if possible and I would prefer NOT to go with separates due to the fact that I have a very clean setup with a very open/minimalistic look, and I don't have any more space in the console I am using that was just recently purchased. I'm 72 and have some high-frequency hearing loss. Bought a new SUHD Samsung TV and would like to improve dialogue as well have a nice music system (no hard rock). I am definitely not an audiophile (it's like a foreign language). Thinking about Quintet set of speakers (like the size) and using an old Mirage BPS100 sub that I already have to make up a 5.1 system. Might want to add Atmos speakers at a later date. Maybe a Yamaha RX-V581 avr that will also permit an outdoor patio zone. Will this be an improvement over 70s era Yamaha CR-840 avr and 2.1 Edge wall/Mirage sub that I am now using ? Room is about 13 x 15 and partially open on both ends.

Hi all, Thanks for taking time to reply :-). I just bought a bunch of klipsch gear (first time ever with home theater) over black friday. So, essentially, I have a vaulted ceiling family room with 20 foot x 20 foot dimensions. With doing some basic research over the internet this is what I bought: Center: RC-62 ii Floor (2 of these): R-28F Surround (rear): R-14S (is this any good? or will i better of buying cheaper bookshelf) Woofer: R-12SW I paid close to 1.1k$ for all the above and not even sure if I have a good setup :-/ ... is this too expensive or did I get the right gear? Hi everyone, i recently bough the R-28F home theater system. I am not an audiophile but i believe i have a heart to enjoy and appreciate good sound. I have been reading through the specs and am getting a bit lost in the power output, that is i might damage the speakers by under powering it. Below is the speaker system setup R-28F FLOORSTANDING SPEAKER R-12SW SUBWOOFER R-25C CENTER SPEAKER R-14S SURROUND SPEAKERS I would like the experts here to suggest me a good receiver for this setup. I am having a budget of $400 to $500 and looking for a 7.1 ch. I am willing to answer further questions to the best of my knowledge. Apologies for being not enlightened enough when it comes to receivers. Thank you for all your kind help and i will sure update on how i am enjoying the sound once i set it all up !

Hi all, I just picked up the R-4B sound bar as a Christmas gift for my parents. In the mean time I wanted to give it a test run and try to fit it into my current set up. I am definitely an amateur with this stuff so this could be very straight forward. My receiver (Rx-v375) gathers up all my hdmi inputs and sends the sound out through my two old Kenwood towers and subwoofer. Is there a way to add the sound bar as an additional speaker set? When I plugged in the analog connectors to the outputs there was no sound. Are the two output methods mutually exclusive? I would appreciate any advice or insights. In the meantime the Bluetooth sounds pretty good, this is my first Klipsch product so I'm excited to give them a whirl.

I've got plenty of great active speakers that I would like to connect to my sound sources wirelessly. HD Control Center (without speakers) seems like a nice solution. However, I do need a WiSA receiver and DAC for each speaker. But these are not easy to come by. Found only one: http://www.summitwireless.com/summit-pro-audio-rx.html, which is actually just an eval platform. My questions are: Will the HD Control Center work with any other WiSA receiver? What receivers are available?

Hello I'm totally new to this, and i want to upgrade my music system. I'm planning on getting 2 R-24fs for my living room (14x13 ft) and a pair of R-15m's or a pair of R-14m's my bed/study room (12x11 ft). I know it might a bit overkill for such a small space, but I'm planning on having these for a while and eventually adding a sub-woofer once i get into a more spacey living situation (and more $). Now my question is. what would be a good receiver/amp, and which would be better for me to get (receiver or amp). I would get them for the sole purpose of listening to music for now. Any comments or ideas on the setup are welcome since i'm a total newb and have no idea what i'm doing. Thanks in advance Edit1: Is a Pioneer 5.1 Channel Reciever VSX-524-K good?

I'm selling my current AVR, in excellent condition. It's 4 yrs old, I originally bought new from bh photo. Like new condition, sounds great and looks brand new. Comes with remote and audyssey microphone (I can't find the owners manual, but a quick google search will have the PDF version). Asking $250 obo. Local pickup or will ship for $50. Thank you!

I lost all audio on my TX-NR5007 receiver last week. It gave a nasty electronic bzzorrp on power up and I restarted it and it was fine but that was the last time it worked. Last night I luckily surfed directly to this page: Support | Onkyo USA It seems there are many different models that have a defective chip in the network section which will cause a wide variety of problems. Tip of the hat to Onkyo for sending owners a prepaid box to ship this 60 pounder back for service. They have also extended the warranty into 2018 to cover this issue. I bought mine in June of 2010 on Amazon. There is an alternate plan of giving a $225 credit towards new replacement instead of repair. Now to take pictures of the spaghetti. Update: FedEx delivered a box on Monday the 25th and I shipped it back that afternoon. Receiver was back on Wednesday the 27th and seems to be just fine.
