  1. Hello, I have already blown a denon receiver so I'm wondering after much research what receiver would be best for my setup. Not necessarily looking for a certain brand just what power or watts per channel i need etc. I have all Klipsch: 1 x R-110SW , 2 x R24F , 1 x R25C. Maybe I had something setup wrong on the original receiver, idk. I also don't remember what exact receiver I had but I know it was a Denon 5.1. I'll be adding to the setup in the future as well. 2 more surround sound speakers. Any input is wanted. Thanks in advance! Jamey
  2. I recently purchased a set of the Klipsch KB-15 Icon Series bookshelf speakers. I used 18 gauge speaker wire hooked up to a 200Watt Sherwood receiver with a Sony turntable connected to a Memorex pre-amp. For some reason, I am not hearing the crisp sound that Klipsch is known for and am wondering if it is my system? The speakers are a maximum of 85 Watts each and I believe 8 ohms. Any advice or insight from the community would be greatly appreciated.
  3. i thought it would be fun to start a thread so we could talk about how much our kids are following in our footsteps down this very fun road of audio enjoyment! So let's post some pics of our kids and our speakers! my son is 3.5 years old and for the last year or so he has been able to turn on the tv, open cabinets, knows exactly which input button the blu ray player is on on the avr, turns on the inuke for the subs, and blu ray player on as well as open it. only thing he isn't allowed to do is touch the disc themselves. he loves listening to music no matter what its on right now, although as he gets older i'm sure he will respect a nicer sounding system. He is very good at not messing with my speakers, and when we have friends over with kids much older than him (6-10yr olds) he tells them to stay away from daddy's speakers.
  4. Hello fellow Klipsch audio fanatics! I have decided to sell my complete 6-piece Klipsch XF-48 home theater system, having upgraded to a pair of Sonus Fabers. This system has been carefully maintained since original ownership and has never been moved (in same space for entire duration of ownership) and is in excellent condition. These speakers have served me really well over the past few years and I am confident they will grant their next owners years of audio goodness. Included are 6 speakers which are detailed as follows: • Two XF-48 tower speakers • One XL-23 LCR center channel speaker • Two XB-10 bookshelf surround speakers (stands not included) • One XW-300d subwoofer There's a Sound & Vision article written about this set from a few years ago with all detailed specs; link is as follows: http://www.soundandvision.com/content/klipsch-xf-48-speaker-system#D8wEAdoE3Uu4TWZQ.97 I have not seen any available sales for this entire system and based on secondary pricing for individual components, the set should sell for ~$1100-1400. I am willing to negotiate. I am based in NYC area so would prefer to sell to someone within a reasonable distance but willing to consider shipping them as well.
  5. 2x Klipsch RF-62 II Floorstanding Speakers for Sale! Looking for around $250 each $500 for both or best offer. They are adult owned, never abused, smoke free home and will ship in the retail boxes. I can ship anywhere in the USA. I will ask whoever buys these to pay for shipping. I will charge actual shipping costs, nothing extra. I get a huge shipping discount 60%+ off UPS rates. Speakers are located in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Suburbs. I will attach some picture tonight. More pictures are available upon request. I can also upload pictures of the boxes as well. Thank you!
  6. I could really use some help! I previous used Tannoy powered studio monitors in my Harmon Kardon 3490 connected by XLR to Male RCA cables. I plugged them into the AUDIO Pre-Out. Now I'm hoping to replace them with these Klipsch R-14s, but I cannot for the life of me get the passive signal to work. I used 16-gauge wire, stripped, twisted, and connected to the twists in Speaker 1 section, but nothing. I triple checked connections and polarity, tried banana plugs and everything, but no dice. Do they need to be connected to the PRE Out with a 16 gauge open stereo wire to RCA male? Is there such a wire? I'm so confused!
  7. I have recently bought the Klipsch Home Theater RP-F280 system. I am planning to drive them using a Yamaha RX-V781. The speakers are 8 ohms and rated at 150w RMS/600w Peak while the Yamaha Amp delivers 95w RMS at 8ohms. Is it a good match? 95% of people told me it's ok but then came along a connoisseur and said that having a lot of head room will blow a tweeter or two at high volumes as the amp will struggle and send clipped wave forms that can damage or will probably damage my speakers. I really need some expert advise Thanks

  10. Hi there. New guy here so I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. Looking to you guys for some advice..thanks in advance. I bought some vintage 1982 cornwalls. When I was young my friends dad had some original herseys, and those things pumped the sound. I figured getting these cornwalls would be even better. They work, but not even near what I thought. Kinda scrappy sound and not much bass in my opinion. I bought a new power gate amp to run them thinking that would do it.im wondering if I need a tube amp to run them for great sound? Did I possible get ripped off..like some electronics were replaced without using good parts or something? It thought they would be blowing out windows almost, and they could barely open a screen now. I tied in 2 powered monitors just to up the sound. Any advice would be appreciated. Edited just now by Sprinklerguy

  13. Selling a pair of Vienna Acoustics Bach Grand speakers, in cherry. No original cartons, so shipping will not be an option. Condition is pretty good, one ding on the back of one cabinet, some scuffs elsewhere. Grills have no holes or snags. No original feet, I'm guessing the original owner misplaced them ages ago. Asking $450. Local is 54701, about an hour and change east from Minneapolis.
  14. Hello everybody I do have a litte problem! I got everything out of the the RP 280 (www.klipsch.com/products/reference-premiere-home-theater-systems#rp-280) for a 5.1 setup. Everrything works fine has amazing sound and look stunning BUT in my room I cannot place the surround speakers left and right of my listening position. I have 2 Options. (The room is 19 feet by 16 feet so no funny shapes involved but the windows are blocking some of my option) Option 1 I can place them further back (within the recommended 110 degees) and about 3 feet above my listening position but this puts them about 1.3 feet from the back wall. But if I do this do I turn the speakers so that the center of the speaker points to my listening position and what mount do I get for that? Option 2 I can place them left and right of my listening position but about 4,3 feet above my listening position which is about 1 feet from the ceiling (and about 2/3 of the speakers would hang over See Picture). I cannot place it on the back wall becasue the back wall is one big window. Both Options are not ideal but which would you recommend? I thank everybody in advance for their help. P.S. Excuse my gramma and spelling errors I am from Austria (Europe) so not a native english speaker
  15. My husband was a huge fan of Klipsch speakers. He passed away suddenly this past January at the age of 59. He had (and now I have) a pair of Klipsch Klipschorn Floorstanding Speakers that he has had since the 70's. We have moved those enormous speakers many, many times in our 25 years of marriage. He absolutely LOVED these speakers. Well I have to part with them (I live in an RV and am renting out our house) and need help selling them. I have no idea about pricing them except what I have seen on eBay and Amazon. They are in very good condition. I also have no idea where to market them. I live in Austin, TX and would prefer local pick up due to their weight. Any suggestions?
  16. The latest victim in the "honey, those don't match the new decor" discussion are these Klipsch KG5.5. Sonically they are great. I wanted to try out one of Klipsch's bigger compression loaded offerings, and the profile on these fits my space, but they have to go.Missing the floor spikes. A few marks to the veneer. A few pulls to the cloth. No show-stoppers. Come have a listen.$400 OBO.Trade options (+/- cash as appropriate): - Myst UK equipment like a tma3 integrated, or G-Ohm separates. - Wellard Research Studio Monitors
  17. Selling my consecutive serial numbered Klipsch Chorus II speakers in original condition. Few minor nicks and dings but overall in original excellent condition considering their age. Buyer is welcome to demo before purchase. Other components in pictures are not for sale. I can ship these but buyer will be responsible for cost. Please inquire if you would like these shipped. 3% PayPal fee for transactions. I would like to sell these locally in the SF Bay Area and would be willing to deliver within a reasonable distance or meet halfway. Please ask with any questions. Asking $1200.00 for the pair.
  18. Any help is appreciated on this, a friend gave me these speakers. I do not see a serial number or model number on them. I'm not an audiophile either and I don't understand the speaker wire hook-ups--it looks like you can either wrap the wire around the screw or around a threaded rod then screw down a wingnut on it? Is there some sort of special terminal or way to hook these up?
