  1. First off, I am an audio idiot. I am in the process of replacing speakers that I bought in the mid-90's. Therefore, I will apologize in advance if this all just sounds stupid to those of you who are experts in this area. I bought an OLED television and a Yamaha RX-V683 receiver as I'm trying to upgrade the sound to match. On the advice of B&H, I purchased the R-26FA floor standing speakers, as well as a center speaker. The rear speakers are still in transit, so I haven't connected those yet. But as for the R-26FA speakers, they have six posts (three sets) on the back for connecting wires. The instructions say: Some Klipsch Reference speakers come with dual binding posts that are connected by a metal strip. Do not remove this strip or your speakers will not function correctly. Keep this strip in place and connect your speaker wire to the top set of the binding posts. It is possible to “Bi-wire” a speaker that has two sets of binding posts. Please see your receiver’s manual for further instructions Ok, so I connected my receiver to the top set of posts, which sit alone. Now the sound comes out of the top of the speakers (the elevated one that lies on something like a 45 degree angle). However, shouldn't the front of the speakers be putting out sound as well? Or is that only for bi-amping? Should I be hooking up additional wires from the receiver to these other posts? Compared to my vintage 1996 speakers, this sounds pretty great, even without the rear speakers in place yet. But I have a feeling I'm doing this wrong and would like to get the most out of these. Support is closed until Tuesday, so I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. Thank you.
  2. Hello All, It's my first post here, I am Eric from Belgium and bought me a 5.1 Klipsch setup and I have some questions 😀 My setup: Marantz SR6009 2x RP-5000F 1x RP-404C 1x SPL-120 2x RP-500SA Is there someone here who did a bi-amp configuration on the RP-5000F series and was there a noticeable difference? There is a lot of info with believers and non believers but I am searching someone who had my setup and did it 😀 Thank you in advance for your feedback. Regards, Eric
  3. So I'm a total noob and need some assistance from the community here... I've got the most basic setup possible, however I still can't figure out how to maximize my speaker's potential! I've recently acquired a set of RB-35 bookshelf speakers and have set them up to my VSX-822 receiver. The receiver is a 5.1 channel, however I only have these two speakers and my dad took back his DOGG floor speakers... Anyways, I currently have them Bi-wired (at least I think so?) to the L and R on the receiver. There are still 3 open ports for a center and 2 surround... The back of the RB-35s have dual binding posts. I'm currently at work but found this picture on Google that is exactly how I have mine setup currently: [see attached] So am I best off with this setup? The single wire essentially comes from the L output of the receiver, and splits to both binding posts on the speaker... Same for the R speaker. Or should I run a separate wire from the L to the bottom or top binding post, then a separate wire from the L surround to the bottom or top binding post? I figured that would be too much power to the speaker and damage my goods... Any help would be greatly appreciated! I can take better pictures when I get home if needed! Thanks guys! BTW, I know I probably need more speakers in my setup... I'm saving up for a Klipsch center, but just graduated college and money is tight right now so speakers are last on my list unfortunately
