  1. I've tried to get a firmware update to my Powergate, and it will not take. The utility software keeps searching for the Powergate, but can never find it. I've done the streaming utility successfullly, and it correctly connected to my router. Is there another way (USB?) to get the newest firmware on the Powergate, or can someone offer advice? Thanks!
  2. I was going to update the firmware on my RSB 14 which I've only had a few months. So I downloaded the zip file, expanded it and put the two files on an empty 8GB flash drive from my mac. I followed the instructions of unplugging the unit, inserting the flash drive and holding the volume up button while plugging the power cord back in. But Dolby light never came on. I waited several minutes. So i released the volume up button and unplugged the unit, removed the flash drive. I confirmed i had the files on the drive, and I tried again. Still not dolby light. So i figured i would do it later after checking the forums and looking up some trouble shooting stuff. But now the unit will not work at all. I hook the power up the blue tooth and digital indicator light come on and stay on, but it is not giving any sound from my Apple TV, which i have hooked up via optical, i can not pair with my phone via blue tooth and it will not respond to it;s remote or the Universal remote i had programmed and had been using with it.
  3. Should be great if Klipsch would release a firmware update for the G17 Air to enable full compatebility with the new Airplay 2 In standard player I cannot select both my G17 air speakers as output. I suppose this is due to the firmware of the G17?
  4. Hi Klipsch community, I recently purchased RSB-14 sound bar, with 2 RW-1 Wireless speakers. To set up a surround system with the bar and the RW-1 speakers, you need in first place to work on some FW updates (http://assets.klipsch.com/files/Stream-Surround-Update-TechBulletin-v06.pdf) For the RSB-14, no issue at all, you can download the binary file and use the USB interface on the bar. Worked like a charm. However, for the RW-1 speaker you have to download the “Klipsch RW-1 Utility Stream" Update app for android or apple. And follow the steps... here start the issues. => The update application never find my speakers, and it stuck on the screen "Searching for device", this may take few minutes ;-D .. I let the app running for 1 hour, still did not find my speakers.. I followed every steps very carefully: wifi set up & speaker in update mode. I've also double checked my network config: - Both speakers are seen by my network ( I can access it with their IP address on a web browser). - I've tried DHCP IP address and then put a static IP address.. same issue - I've tried with the speaker wired on my network: same - I've tried a factory reset on the speaker and start the process again. same issue For info, the speaker in stand alone works fine on my network with the klipsch play-fi application.. I also tried to put both of it on stereo mode, and it worked great.. so my router and network set up seems to work OK.. If anyone already experienced the same issue and found how to resolve it, many thanks for sharing ! Cheers,
  5. I've invested in THREE G-17's because I love how they sound. I would like to update the firmware, but this issue as reported in the Klipsch Community between 20012 through 2015 has apparently never been resolve and the link to the update states Klipsch is still working on a fix! (See this Link: http://www.klipsch.com/firmware?product=16489) Additional information: I purchased each g-17 used on eBay, one has firmware 3.8.93.1000 and the other two have 3.8.9.3.37000. I had no trouble getting each to connect to my 2.4 wife band and was able to rename each-BUT they revert to factory default name eventually. What is the latest available firmware version? Can it be downloaded and run from desktop computer or off a thumb drive?

  7. I am unable to update my brand new RSB-8 to the latest firmware (v2.4.9) - I contacted Klipsch technical support to no avail - told me to turn off the update notification in the play-fi app. I have exhausted all options that I can think of, including trying different USB drives (2.0,3.0) all freshly formatted on Windows 10 w/fat32. to no avail. I've followed the pdf instructions each time, reset the RSB-8 to factory settings and started all over again. As a result the sound bar will not pair with the 2 RW-1's I purchased to go with it. I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks, -Steve

  9. Hello I am trying to repair a G17-Air unit. The unit became a brick after trying to do a firmware update. Looks like there were many issues with this. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get much help. The speakers are perfectly good so I tried connecting them to another amp but the sound is not that good. Now I am trying to figure out the wiring/connection of the onboard AMP and to bypass the MCU. Does anyone know the connections on the pins. (photo enclosed). I have a way to add wireless audio I just need to figure out this AMP.
  10. I have dug through these forums for quite a while. As a long time klipsch user I am very disappointed in the level of support given to the G-17 Air product. Not only is the firmware update process kludgy and unintuitive, I am constantly plagued with dropouts when using these speakers. I was hoping a firmware update would fix my issue but alas, all the damn thing does is flash red when I hit the "Ok" button to put it into firmware update mode. There have been several users on the forum with the same issue with NO REPLY FROM SUPPORT. I wish Klipsch would just own up to their mistakes and publish a guide on how to fix this or RMA units that need firmware updates. Simply not replying to user issues is just bad business. Been a Klipsch fan for the past 10 years, and just wholly disappointed in this product from start to finish. My setup: I have a laptop with CAT-5 going into dedicated wireless router (nothing else connected at all). Tried doing a factory reset and had no effect. Klipsch, if you're out there - please help! -peter
  11. Hello. I have the Klipsch Gallery G-17 Air, AirPlay® Speakers. I downloaded the G-17 Firmware file and the Update Instructions (G17apple_macprocedure_635098280657660000.pdf). I am able to successfully connect to the G-17 using Bonjour in the web browser. I click on the "Firmware Update" within the sidebar, and the correct page appears. It shows that the Current Firmware Date is: 2011-10-30 and the Current Firmware Version is: 3.8.93.3700 Below the phrase "Firmware Update" is an [OK] button and the instructions are to click that button so the G-17 can prepare for the update. As soon as I click the [OK] button, the G-17 Wireless button turns 'Red' and the Bonjour connection to the G-17 is lost. I've power-cycled the G-17 a few times with the same results. I even turned off all my wireless devices, plugged the laptop into Ethernet, so the only wireless device was the G-17, and still the 'Red' Wireless button. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can successfully update the Firmware, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
