  1. Hey there all! I recently was sent to this website from the Klipsch customer support phone line because my speaker and sub set started having issues. We deduced that the issue is most likely the control pod; now the other issue is that I have the older version with the round preamp input connection. He said that sometimes people on here have extras that they may be willing to part with so I wanted to pop on and ask! I just got these speakers from my brother's GF, her late dad was a radio DJ and overall Audio connoisseur and they were amongst his things. I got them to work initially so I got a taste of what joy they could bring but it is now day three and they have started acting up. Thank you all so much for whatever help you can provide!
  2. Theses are brand new speakers and this is not a constant sound but one that comes and goes. they will be fine one second and then the next I have this weird hissing static sound that is starting to annoy me and I can't seem to find a fix. This sound is only on my speakers and not the subwoofer. Can someone please help me.
  3. So, I’ve had a lovely surround set up with some reference premiere speakers for about 6 months now. Tonight, a very courageous young house mouse decided to brave the teeth and claws of my two cats and invade my kitchen. In the course of the chase it ran in the general direction of my SPL-150 subwoofer and is currently MIA. While my furry security system continues to hunt the home invader, do I need to worry about it running into the space at the bottom of the subwoofer and causing havoc on the inside? I didn’t see it run in there, but it would have been possible and I can’t tell if that space connects to the rest of the internals of the speaker or not. For those of you who have disassembled these speakers, do I have anything to worry about? Thanks in advance.
  4. I have ProMedia 4.1 which are over 10 years old. Over time, speakers started developing hissing and crackling. I traced the issue to the preamp. It had some gunk/glue on the circuit board, which I cleaned off with electrical-grade isopropyl, and the issue went away. Fast forward a couple/few years, and the noise is back! I checked the preamp, didn't see much accumulation, but cleaned it more anyway. No difference to the noise. The noise comes from all 4 speakers and from the sub When preamp was the source of the problem, I could hear change in crackling when i rotated the control knows. Now knob rotation does not affect the noise opened one of the speakers and checked all connections--all connections appear to be fine Rotated all speakers on the same output and same speaker on all outputs noise is always there one of the channels (rear left) produces significantly higher level of noise than the rest I suppose this means it could have two sources of noise or that there is no central source of noise, and all channels in the amp (or preamp) are impacted, with one of the channels in the amp impacted more than others Unplugged the preamp, and I can hear the subwoofer is still making noise this must mean either that the sub has two sources of noise, and the issue could still be in the preamp or the preamp is not the source of the noise Opened the amp, checked all the connections in the amp and from the amp to the sub--everything is nice and snug Examined the circuit boards in the amp--no signs of component wear and foreign matter I am at a bit of a loss as to what to do next. Has anyone experienced similar and/or has any suggestions? Does anyone have experience testing individual components of the amp? Any other basic tests I missed? Thanks!
  5. I purchased my promedia 2.1 speakers back in march and they got here last week and it all seemed to be going well until i noticed yesterday that they were emitting a low humming sound. Now today i was faced with a new problem when i was testing out the headpone jack on the right speaker when i took it out the right channel stopped working but the humming sound still comes from both speakers. Now the only speaker that technically works is the left one.
