Hello! I am trying to decide between buying a pair of klipsch forte 2 that the seller says have "recapped crossovers and updated tweeter diaphragms" for $800 or a pair of rogers studio 1s for $700 they both appear to be in fantastic condition littles scrapes but other than that they look great. Has anyone heard both speakers to help me decide?

I have a set of (very not stock) K-Horns that I'd like to sell. I have a set of Heresy's that I'm converting to Claude's Super Heresy and think it's time to let their big brothers go to someone who will love them as I have. I'm hoping one of the community members here can help me understand what they are (model type, mod/abomination) and what I can do to make a proper sale. Big thanks to anyone who can help me sort this out. Pictures: Album here The cabinets aren't labelled, no sticker, and don't have binding posts built in. Does this mean they're speakerlab or maybe a custom build or is it possible that they're original k-horns? This is the most important question I have because I don't want to misrepresent something that I'm trying to sell. The crossovers are type AA The tweeters are the k-77, unmounted. The mids: Altec 511b horn, 808-8a driver Woofers: mismatched Electrovoice EV15, I replaced the other with a Crites 1526c The midhorn and drivers were replaced with an Altec Voice of the Theater combo 808-8a driver and 511b horn. Is this common? I have an extra set of k-55 mid drivers that I made some adapters for to fit on the horn. Should I probably sell with those on it instead? The grill cloth is worn out. Should I redo it before selling? Am I overthinking this? Last question: if I want them to sell in the next few months, how much should I try to get for them? I'm willing to deliver if that makes a difference.

Hey. I bought some second hand 2.1 promedia speakers (without subwoofer) and I have no idea how to power them on. I will attach pictures to help explain. Essentially it comes with a control pod which has a green headphone cable, and another unknown cable that kind of looks like an s link. There were then two sets of monster cables that each plug into the back of a satellite speaker respectively. I have no idea how to a) attach the two speakers together and b) turn them on. Please help. Is the subwoofer necessary to turn on the satellites? Pics: https://imgur.com/a/mSHOuRH

I have 2xRP280 and a R-115SW sub connected to a Denon AVRX6300H for about a year and half. today, the left speaker next to sub started buzzing, then cut out and then there was a horrible smell. the smells is coming from the speaker next to the sub or sub. it smells horrible and is quite terrifying. What just happened? is my equipment ok? what can i do to resolve? should i be concerned of fire and safety?

heresy 1 Looking for an budget amp for my Heresy 1s
zcmckenna posted a topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
I am new to the HiFi audio scene and have been looking for an amp/preamp combo or integrated amp to replace my old Pioneer VSX-D508 reciever for a 2 channel Klipsch Heresy 1 setup (music only, no movies). I am looking for something under $250 if possible. I have had the Nobsound MS-10D MKII recommended, but have seen very mixed opinions on that, and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with one. I also am not sure whether to try to go with tube amplifiers or solid state amps. Thanks in advance! -
Hello everyone, Just joined the klipsch community and bought the Klipsch Reference RSB-6 210-Watt Sound Bar with 6.5" Wireless Subwoofer. It sounds fantastic and I was wondering if there is any way I can add more external speakers to connect to it for a more surround sound experience. Thanks in advance,

Hello! Was gonna see if I could get some help. I’m looking at getting these speakers and I am completely lost on what receiver I should get. (Think I’ve narrowed it down to Yamaha) Also, does the combo of speakers work well together or would you recommend something different? How would y’all recommend setting them up for best surround sound experience? This will be mostly for movies and sports. The area they are they will be has a wall running down one side and opens up on the other side and back. (1) Pair of Klipsch RP-260F Floorstanding Loudspeakers (1) Pair of Klipsch RP-160M Monitor Speakers (1) Klipsch RP-440C Center Channel Speaker (2) Klipsch R-112SW 12-Inch Powered Subwoofers thanks for your help!

I just read you cant hook up a pre-amp to a existing AVR because the AVR already has a power supply, amplifier, pre-amp, and processor. If this is true why have I been told if my AVR does not have enough power that as long as it has pre=amp inputs I can add a pre-amp. I was thinking of buying the Denon AVR6400H thinking it would be enough power to run 2 Klipsch RF-7lll,s with a RF-64 center, and 2 RP-250s surrounds with two R-115SW subs. Now the more I read the more I hear about "pre-amps. It seems advanced HT purist mostly use pre-amps for max power and clean sound. My system will be a 5.2. If it,s true I cant hook up a pre-amp to an AVR then what do I hook up the Pre-amp to? Also what are the pre-amp in plugs for on the back of an AVR. I want all the advanced features of a AVR, but I also want the power to spare of a pre-amp. Some have said give the system a listen then decide if I need a pre-amp.What would be a good pre-amp choice for the speakers I have chosen? Another question...…...How is a pre-amp hooked up in a HT system? Does the pre-amp send the boosted signal of power to the AVR or other amp for the speakers. Or does the pre-amp send the boosted signal directly to the speakers which would be hooked up to the pre-amp? I thought that hooking up a pre-amp was as simple as two plugs going into the pre-amp in plugs on the AVR. But now I am confused about all the plugs on the back of the Pre-amp...If I will be using a 5.2 system, where will the speakers and subs connect? AVR? [ which I don't even know I can do] or the pre-amp. I am new to the hobby and have found that it is easy to find plenty of the components needed for HT, but how to put the system together, and what speakers need for a power supply have eluded me. I really cant wait for your answers to these questions about hooking up a pre-amp to a AVR..it just doesn't make sense that you cant do it.

Just purchased my 1st pair of Klipschorn Kind of a barn find - older lady selling for sick ex-husband as he moves into a senior home. Test in an old house with cheap Sony amp and CD player. Not in corners, small room, but wood floor on a basement. They sounded amazing. Loaded them up drove 2.5 hours home hooked them up - they now sound terrible, no low end and muddy everything else. My space is in a finished basement, so concrete floors, with carpet and pad - 14 foot wall, with K-Horns in the corners. Ceiling is just under 8 ft and back of room is open - 28+ feet. Current system was driving a pair for Forte II's, and they sounded great. Working on posting some photos. Thanks for any help or advice in advance. Moit

Hello, I recently was finally able to acquire the stadium speaker. I LOVE IT! even more so than i thought i would. I have two questions. 1. It came with a metal stand. Its only referenced in the manual by picture, and its purpose to me is still unknown. 2. I cannot get the speaker to connect to my wireless to save my life :). I've tried the drop down and selecting my SSID / CCMP. and this doesn't work, I've even tried to configure manually with WPA2 AES and it still doesn't work? What am i doing wrong? What are some things i can try?

Hello Community, I have the sw-450 subwoofer and we just moved in to a new place so it's time to setup and recal everything, and I'm at a loss for the sub setup. My receiver has an auto-setup function with a listener mic, but how should I set the nobs on the sub? Should I be bypassing? Volume? I've seen a lot of mixed information, and I've even seen the "just experiment until it sounds good" suggestion. Can anyone give me a definitive answer? The rest of my setup is from the Icon series, so kf-28's in the front, ks-14's surround, kc-25 center channel. Pioneer Elite vsx-40 receiver. Thanks!

Denon AVR-X3300w, replaces Yamaha 5.1. Looking to replace 5.1 speaker system but in stages. First point is pair of fronts. While is is part of a home theater set up my honest first priority is what it's going to sound like when I crank up 70's prog rock. The room is what would have been an attached two car garage, but was never that. Where the garage doors would be is a large glass slider that I open onto a good sized deck. In the past I had outdoor speakers there, but at this time I just open the sliders and turn it up. My thought is to use the the old fronts as the atmos front high. Looking for thoughts on what speakers would be a good match for the receiver fronts knowing that LOUD is possibly as important as precise. Frankly just connecting via bluetooth to the phone is likely what's going to happen most often. Appreciate any advice, tips, thoughts. For the record I was about to just order the r-28f.

My Audyssey microphone was DOA and I've been patiently awaiting it's replacement. I figure I can go the manual route for now. My setup is as follows and I was hoping you guys could help me with some of the finer details in terms of the crossovers, large/ small, +-db settings etc.., just to get a guy started. -Denon 4300H Receiver -Klipsch R-26 towers (x2) for my L & R (and currently setup as center) -Future state-Klipsch R-15M bookshelf (single) for center once we get our console table in place under the TV . Side Note- would it be blasphemous to have it on its side laying down to save on height? -Bose 161 (x2) for surrounds (hung on basement soffit ~6.5ft from floor nearly directly to the left/right of seating position) -Monoprice Caliber Series 8" ceiling speakers (x2) -Klipsch R-10SW Subwoofer (10") (x1) The main seating position is about 12ft from the towers and the sub, 7ft from the surrounds and 7ft from the heights. 12AWG connecting it all in wall. I’m setting this up as a 5.1.2 Atmos setup for movies and some gaming. Any advice is welcome. I’m a pretty technical individual, but not so much in the audio realm. So I can follow instructions, but coming up with the finer points myself will be a learning process. Thanks folks!

Hello everyone, I have a R-10B sound bar that does not turn on. I have tried draining the power supply by having the switch on while having the power sour unplugged from the wall. I was wondering if anyone has a service manual for the power supply or anything at all that would help with this issue? Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello! Brand new to this page, and for this specific reason! I am moving out of my house soon and decided to see what I was going to bring with me. My dad left speakers, and little did I know until about an hour ago these big guys are Forte IIs. With what I have read, they seem to be pretty decent too! But I have NOOOOOO CLUE how to set these up. I am used to aux cords, and usb to hear music, so I'm pretty dumb founded with these weird looking wires lol.. I really want to hook them up and get them playing some music/for movies (if thats normal). Any advice on how to set them up would be greatly appreciated... if the sound doesn't blow me away and is not worth it to me, just going to sell them as i do need money! Any advice would be great! Thanks again. Cheers!

I have Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers that I've bought from 2 years ago and I've been using them frequently ever since. Recently, the right channel speaker sometimes works, and sometimes it doesn't. I noticed yesterday that when I plugged the power cable of the subwoofer (to which the speakers are connected to), the right channel speaker was working for a while like it should, then it stopped. Also, I've also noticed both speakers have a low buzzing sound, and the buzzing sound doesn't go away regardless of changing the volume. But I really just want my right speaker to work again. And by the way, I am not a sound techie so I won't understand a lot of tech jargon. I know that there are so many places to start, but if anyone can help me out with what I should do from the information I just gave, that would be awesome! Thanks!

Hey all, New guy here. I just inherited a set of Chorus IIs that are unfortunately in a bit of a state of disrepair. One of the negative terminals on the system is busted off. Can anyone detail the process I'm going to need to take to repair it? Am I going to have to solder? I already contacted Klipsch support and they put me in contact with a repair shop that does not have the terminals in stock, so is there a generally accepted after market set to use? Thanks in advance!

So I finally have my own space where I can set up a real (have always had cheap all in one systems lol) home theater. I bought a Samsung 65" curved 4K TV and I could really and (would so appreciate) any help someone could give me on the theater part. I'm reading and learning but still kind of lost lol. So I'm putting it in my finished basement the space is (from back wall by bar to the TV) 20'x16' so about 320 square feet. Seating is kind of shaped like a Diamond. I purchased a pair of R-26F speakers to start (thought it was a great deal and they had really good reviews). I can return though if there is something that is way better out there. The speakers came with a R-10SW subwoofer (again can return). Do I need a second sub? I'm looking at the RF-250c for my center (but open to other suggestions.) However no clue on the receiver (was looking at a new Sony STRDN1080) but I just don't know what is best. Would like to stay at about $600 or under if possible. Though if I needed to I could go a little higher. if I really needed too I could wait a few more pay checks and go up to 900-1,000 but that would be absolute max. I would prefer to only do that if it was going to be a huge difference. I also am not sure about the rear speakers? Do I just get something cheaper or is it worth putting money into those as well? i will be using this for movies and music however the priority is movies. Love movie night and really want to have that (as close as my budget allows) movie theater sound. I have about $1,000-$1,250 (right now) left to finish this project (if I wait I can go up to $1,500) much higher my wife is going to kill me lol. thank you so much for reading this and for any advice anyone can provide. JP

I just moved into a home that has several Klipsch speakers installed around the patio. They are not hooked to any amp or other device--the wires run into the kitchen and terminate under the sink. I'd like to hook them into something, and do it as cheaply as possible (for now). Any recommendations or suggestions?

Have been combing the forums for a few weeks now, and appreciate the time everyone puts in to help. I am in process of finalizing my speaker list and could definitely use some help with rear surrounds and subs. Below is what I had in mind and it seems from the forums, it is ok, but I was looking for the preferred option. Room is 18' x 16'6" in a basement. MLP will be about 36"-40" from the back wall. RP-280F (L, R) RP-450C (C) RP-250S (Side surrounds) RP-160M (rear surrounds) R-112SW (x2) Request 1) Keeping LCR same, what is preferred for the rear surrounds? RP-160M, RP-250S or RP-250F? The reason I ask is all 3 choices are within ballpark of each other after I consider cost of stands for the RP-160M Request 2) Is it better to have 2 R-112SW vs. 1 R-115SW? (having 2 R-115SW will basically blow my budget) Layout attached. The 8 boxes on side and back wall are columns. Thanks in advance for your advice!!

So I am able to grab a hold of the R12SW (and I can get 2 of them) subwoofer its on special on bestbuy.CA for 500.79$ or I can get the R112SW for 1054.99$ My current setup: R28F Front L/R R25C Center I do not have side or back surrounds yet, later to come. No subwoofer yet of course Hard to decide, or I can just wait even much longer and get the R115SW but I am looking for a nice bang for the buck, its all about the buck help me decide thank you ! I use my system for music, lots of music, sometimes video watching or even gaming sometimes. I have a Onkyo 7.1 Ch am I able to use a Y splitter to put 2 LFE cables in and run them to the 2 subs?

Hi everyone, So my friend who is moving overseas has gifted me his old Klipsch floor standing RF - 35's after years of making fun of my Yamaha HS5's.... While this might be basic knowledge on these forums, this is the first time that I have owned passive speakers so I literally have no idea what I'm looking for in an amplifier. The speakers will be used solely to play vinyl records off of 2 X Technic SL1200 record players that are already hooked up to a Pioneer DJM400 mixer (I believe this acts as a preamp?) in my living room. Friends have been telling me that i should invest in a valve/tube amplifier as it will best bring out that vinyl sound - whilst other people have been telling me I should go solid state as it will be more affordable and it will help bring out the bass in the RF35's which can sound too bright(?). Any advice, guidance, recommendations from some seasoned audio/klipsch veterans would be genuinely appreciated and welcomed :).
