For sale a pair of KG4 crossovers. They are out of a pair that I used to own. The capacitors have been updated. The 3uf and 8uf with Solen FastCaps and the 33uf with a bipolar electrolytic, I think it is Bendix but not certain. The mounting cups are NOT included, just what you see in the pix. $40 (PayPal) shipped in the lower 48. Thanks

I'm replacing the diaphragms in my tweeters and noticed the wiring looked reversed on one of them. On one, I have a white wire and one with a red stripe. The other speaker, white and one with a black stripe. Is the striped wire positive or neg? One of them had to have been wrong. And help on this one? Thanks!!!

Hi there, I have a pair of first generation KG4's that have the Crites titanium drivers as well as his crossover networks. These speakers have always sounded fabulous with my old, integrated transistor amp. The top end was always smooth and silky, yet very revealing without any harshness. I recently purchased a high end tube amp and now my favorite speakers hurt my ears! There is an upper-midrange glare that has appeared that makes these speakers very unlistenable and no longer balanced. Using a spectrum analyzer, the offending frequency is in the 2k - 3.8k range. The caps in the crossover network are 3uF and 8uF. I read online here that the crossover frequency for the KG4's is 1800Hz. I think if I changed the crossover frequency to a higher value, that would reduce or eliminate the glare by sending more highs to the the double 8" drivers, correct? Sorry, I don't know enough about electronics to experiment with changing these values without some guidance. Would any of you know what values I should try to change the crossover frequency? Or, is there another approach to remedying this upper midrange glare? Thanks in advance for any help you can lend. Cheers!

Hey guys, I'm new here! Long time lurker and I could really use some help from the guru's I've been using my old Kenwood km-209 power amp paired with the kc-209 amp controller to drive my vintage KG4's. The kenwood is rated at 150w although the specifications say 155+155 for both channels and says 'Music Power' Is 310w. Here's the specs: http://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/kenwood/km-209.shtml I ran the volume at about 50% for about 30-35 minutes until I came downstairs to lower the volume for about 30-60 seconds and then powered the system off. When I turned the system off, I heard a pop go through the speakers. It wasn't blaringly loud, but it was loud, and concerned me. I noticed the amp was pretty warm at that time, too. After letting it cool off for about ten minutes I turned the system back on and heard a strange garbled sound coming from the speakers. When I played music through them, the tweeters weren't putting out any sound. I plugged in my EPI's to test, and their tweeters worked, so, I'm pretty sure something happened to my KG4's. Now, I'm a little concerned.. Can't these KG4's handle some juice? I was very skeptical that I might have damaged them with this system. I am also an idiot when it comes to audio equipment so please forgive me, I'm learning. Does anyone find it peculiar that both tweeters would blow exactly at the same time, AFTER I turn the system back on at a low volume? So weird to me. Thank you for your help! Sean

FIrst of all I am new to hi-fi. I am looking at a set of KG4 for $200 on craigslist to hook up to my Fisher 400 amp. Anyone have any experience with this combo? Will the ~25ish WPC of this amp be enough for these speakers? Also, I am new to owning speakers of this age 25+ years old. What should I plan to have to repair / replace? I am already gearing up to do my first cap upgrades. thanks!

Im asking $260 obo for this pair of walnut KG4's. They are in good condition but not without a couple of flaws on the wood. On the photo of both speakers facing with the grills on, on the back right of the top of the speaker you can see an imperfection, an impression, or indentation. I'm the second owner. Hey guys. I'm totally new to the whole stereo system thing. I haven't even heard of Klipsch till I picked up a pair of KG4s at a yard sale this past weekend. I've been doing research on watts and ohms, receivers, and set up but everything is kinda over my head. I need help but broken down real simple like. I'm not trying to get some perfect setup I just want to be able to play some music nice and loud without breaking something. So like I said I got a pair of the KG4's and I bought this old receiver RCA RK327C http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-RCA-RK327C-HI-FI-RECEIVER-/221540828945?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item3394dcc711#viTabs_0 (pics attached) it has 120 volt, 60hz, 300watt, 2 channels. I hooked'm up yesterday and found out the right channel of the receiver is messed up it is low and kinda cycles up and down. Left is fine, that speaker was thumping pretty good. I get a little buzzy sound with some music not sure if thats the speaker or receiver. So since only one side is working I hooked both speakers to that side. That worked. So questions 1. Are the speaker and receiver compatiable, as in will something break if I keep using it? 2. I do plan on getting the other channel fixed on the receiver but for time being is having everything go to side messing something up? 3. Is that buzzing coming from the speaker or receiver? Thanks yall, remember please explain plainly. Also if this a bad pairing could you tell me the right kind of receiver to get. I like the vintage look and I'm not trying to spend much, again I just want to play loud without breaking something.

I have a pair of Klipsch KG 4s being driven by a marantz sr8500 and am looking for a nice sub to go along with them, primarily for music as opposed to movies. I'm limited to $600 or less; new, used, discontinued, etc makes no difference to me as long as they are in good working condition.
