  1. Selling a pair of used Klipsch Forte III (B-stock) with black tinted glass tops (3/8" tempered glass - never used). I have since upgraded to La Scala's and no longer listen to these speakers. The speakers are in great condition and I have kept the original boxes and packaging material. Asking $2200. Local pickup only, do not want to ship. Newark/Fremont, CA (East Bay)
  2. Posted these 2 speakers a couple of years ago and had a few hits but was too busy with work to keep up... now I'd really like to get them out of my garage. Also including the Yamaha reciever pictured. I don't want to ship these monsters so I'd prefer someone that can come pick them up ASAP but if the price is right and you want to pay for shipping by all means just make an offer. I have more pictures here on Craigslist Austin. Make an offer and tell me when you can get them in a private message with some kind of contact info or reply to the craigslist post. Thanks yall!
  3. Downsizing and the following items for sale. Price is $1,000. 1. Klipsch RF 3 pair 2. KLF-C7 (Center) 3. RS 3 pair 4. SW Sub 12 HGB Speakers work perfectly have no issue. One surround with nick corner and need new velcro, Local inspection welcome. Items are located at 91006 and preferred local pick up.
  4. I recently acquired a pair of the Klipsch KG 5.5 speakers in 9.5/10 condition at a garage sale for $200 bucks for the pair! A friggin steal! However as i cranked them up i heard a loud buzzing in the woofer. Upon further research it seems that other people have this same problem with the KG series. The speakers turn 20 this August 27th, so they are old and people have said that with age there will be loose crap under the dust cap that causes the loud and annoying vibrations that i hear when i turn them up to medium volumes. So far I'm going to buy some replacement Titanium Dome Diagaphrams for the tweeters from bob crites, and I'm looking for a good replacement woofer. I know somebody makes a replacement woofer specifically for the KG series listed here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/160962694691?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 Looking at the specs they don't give you any frequency response graphs, so i decided that i will probably use this woofer https://www.parts-express.com/goldwood-gw-10pc-8-10-heavy-duty-woofer-8-ohm--290-324 The sensitivity and impedance of this woofer is the same as the replacement one so it should work, and the reviews say its great. Does anybody have any thoughts or opinions on this, or any upgrade ideas to make my KG 5.5's even better?
  5. I have paired a NAD C298 stereo amp with my Forte IV speakers. The amp has an option for the gain -- either fixed or variable. The Forte IV's recommends a 100 watt amp . The NAD C298 runs 185 watts per channel into 8 ohms. Questions: Should I run fixed gain? (The gain is 28.6 db.) Or should I run a variable with a lower gain? If the latter, what should the gain be set at/how should I select the gain? I ask these questions because my prior speakers were powered Elac NAVIS, which had a gain option (low or high), and I always preferred the low setting. My fear is that if I set the gain TOO low I might risk clipping. But I also worry that 185 watts with a 28.5 db gain might be OVERPOWERING the speakers (and, at a minimum, introducing distortion). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  6. I am powering my Klipsch Forte IV speakers with a NAD C298 stereo amplifier. Source unit is a Mytek Brooklyn Bridge, connected to the amplifier with XLR balanced cables. My questions: Should I stick with the fixed gain setting on the amp (28.6 db gain)? Or should I use the variable gain (which allows me to reduce the gain) setting on the amp? If the latter, how do I select the "proper" gain? My prior speakers were Elac Navis bookshelves. They had a gain switch: high or low. I preferred the low setting. I was wondering if the Forte IV would likewise sound better with a lower gain setting.

  8. Hey everyone, So sometime back in 1997, I finally indulged and bought new Klipsch speakers for the home theater 5.1 setup I'd always wanted. They've performed admirably over these past 24 years, but times and interests have changed, and I'm looking to sell. Other than a few cosmetic issues on a couple of feet on the sub that you could fix easily enough, absolutely nothing is wrong with these speakers other than use. They were used in a smoke-free home and taken well care of. I believe I paid around $1,500 - $2,000 total when I first bought them, but it's been too long to remember, and obviously I don't plan to ask that much. But what would be a fair price to list these speakers for? Unfortunately, I just don't keep up with home theater much anymore and have no idea what I should ask for them. From the labels on the back of the speakers, I'm selling two (2) front tower speakers (KSF 10.5), one (1) center channel speaker (SC 1), two (2) rear channel speakers (SS 1), and one (1) subwoofer (KSW 200). Thanks much! Dave
  9. Hi there, I need help valuing and selling these two Klipschorn speakers. Serial numbers 6M508 & 507 is what I located on the back (pictures below). I am not sure where to sell and I need an estimated value to sell these. Would appreciate any input from the experts out there! I know these are some good ones. We had four, but two were stolen unfortunately many years ago. Thanks everyone, Perrin
  10. Hello fellow Klipsch fans. Recently there was a nasty power surge in my area and, unluckily, my receiver happened to be plugged straight into the outlet the day it happened. Since then, whenever a sound hits a certain pitch, there's this harsh crackly noise. I thought it may have been the content I was playing, but I've tested other disks/media and it persisted (so long as it was the right pitch or tone). Then I considered it was my receiver, so I tried an older one, but it wasn't that either. It looks like it's my speakers. I haven't tested (or noticed anything wrong with) the sides or rears yet. But my two fronts (RF 7II) and center (RC-64II) have the issue. It seems to be coming from the tweeter and I haven't noticed anything else wrong with the speakers but this. I recorded the problem and the wav should be listenable here. In the clip (there's a piece of paper being torn in the scene, ignore that) the harsh clipping/crackling noise is evident multiple times throughout. It's even more pronounced on my normal receiver (x6400h), maybe because it drives more power to the speakers. I love these speakers. They're the life of my entertainment. Is there anything I can do to fix them? Or any sort of troubleshooting I can do to determine if they are fixable? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  11. Hi Everyone, I have just started to learn about home theatre I am planning to start building it with the 3 front channel speakers. Eventually I wanted to make it 7.1.4 Dolby atmos in future But I am not sure which speaker should I be going for considering the room size ( 10 ft. wide * 15.6 ft. long * 9 ft. height) Based on various reviews I wanted to go with Klipsch speakers but not sure which model to go for since there are various models available Please spare your thought on the speaker selection and AV receiver
  12. I purchased the ST-120 kit without the tubes from Bob Latino, shipping was fast and everything was very well packed and organized into neat sections. Instructions are very clear and concise. the entire kit went together in about 10 hours just like estimated. Anyone with decent soldering skills and some patience can do this kit. I enjoyed the whole assembly process, very satisfying to get to fire it up when finished and hear just how the work paid off. I was having a problem getting any kind of voltage readin from the bias pins and sent Bob a email he was able to quickly help me check some connections and voltages. He identified the issue very quickly, I had placed a connection in the wrong place. I got very lucky it didn't cause any major issues. Very good customer service though he really knows his amps! The sound of this amp is just beautiful, crips highs and nice deep lows. Now I have it connected to the pair of stock 1982 Klipschorns I recently acquired, they make quite the match made in heaven. Way more than enough power for me, I was worried I would be pushing the 60 watts per channel to the limit. Boy was I wrong, I haven't moved it much past one o'clock (half volume) for my daily listening. If I wanted to shake the paintings off the walls this amp could probably do it. I got the 21 step attenuator and it's just perfect for playing straight from a DAC without a preamp. I can't get over how this amp sounds every instrument sounds very real, like the artists are standing in the room playing in front of me. Truly a wonderful amp and experience. Someday if I decide to upgrade to the monoblocks I know I will go right back to Bob at www.tubes4hifi.com for them.

    SOLD

SOLD. They are Model 1 RB-5. Attractive, furniture quality wood veneer mahogany finish. They are consecutive serial numbers. I have mint Cornwall V1, and other HE speakers, so decided to let these go. In summary--they are in truly excellent condition. UPDATE: Only upon posting these pictures in this revised ad do I see a small ding on one driver. This is too small to do anything to fix. This ding was there at the time I bought them--I realize only right now from original picture I found. Apparently, it is not easy to see when standing, so I missed it to now. I have the original boxes in good condition with original packing material, but for now they are available for transfer to your car or SUV of the speakers (so you can inspect them) and their original boxes. While I mainly lurk on this fun and informative site, I have bought and sold from several others here, and have tons of only-positive feedback everywhere as NuRxHunter.

  20. I recently purchased a new TT (Pro Ject Debut Carbon Espirit) paired with the Fives powered speakers by Klipsch, to be used almost exclusively to play vinyl, with the occasional streaming via Spotify and my iPhone. When streaming music, the speakers sound very good. However, with vinyl (and I bought them for vinyl) they sound just okay. I’m no expert. So perhaps I expect too much. But to me, when playing records, even new, audiophile grade records, The Fives sound a little muddy, sort of muffled. And I really want the true vinyl experience. The cartridge (Ordifon Red) came new with the TT. The TT has no internal phono amp. One of the reasons I chose the 5s was their built in preamp. (I since read one review that opined the phono preamp was the 5s weakest feature.) So I find myself contemplating a separate phono amp, perhaps a tube amp, based upon what I read. Pro Ject makes one (S2?) that plays to rave reviews, but it ain’t cheap. ($450). Am I destined to spiral down the bottomless audiophile rabbit hole called “better sound,” so often sought in vain? (You know you’ve done it.) Or should I give a separate preamp a shot? Or does someone more knowledgeable than I have any other ideas? Thanks in advance.
  21. Hey guys so recently I got my friend to bring the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers from Canada to here in Pakistan. I was so excited to get them running as soon as they got here. When I brought them home I connected them the usual way. And when I turned on the switch......boom. The electricity flickered and the speakers didn't turn on. I turned around the subwoofer unit observing the rear side of it and then did I realize that it was rated 120V! Whereas here we use 220V. How stupid could I get?! Okay so this is the first time I have got something from US/Canada so I had no idea about the different voltage system. I learned the hard way. Since there is no official presence of Klipsch in Pakistan, and I didn't opt for warranty which would've costed me extra CAD 35 from Amazon.ca, I took the speakers to the repair guy in my area who has fixed my old Logitech speakers and Phillips TV before as well. He tried to fix the speakers but unfortunately couldn't. This is the amp unit: He said the fuse was intact but these 2 components were fried so he replaced them: He did some more soldering and checking with multimeter and all in front of me but the speakers weren't powering on. On some points he was getting readings on his multimeter but not on others (as far as I remember). The repair guy said that this component is damaged (IC?) (highlighted): The repair guy was like I will have to get the replacement part (the whole board as shown in the first picture) from abroad because its not available here in the market. I searched Ebay and did find a few options, but they are either the subwoofer itself or the whole back plate unit. Plus they are really expensive (around $70-$80). Might as well get new speakers from best buy ($125). But even then I don't have anyone coming in from the US. So I wanted to ask if there is any other way I could get these fixed. Maybe the repair guy missed something, or was wrong about something. Need suggestions. Should I try replacing the fuse? I've heard so many good things about these speakers and couldn't even get the chance to hear a single sound from them And they cost me CAD 260! They're just lying here useless in my room.
  22. Craigslist link https://tippecanoe.craigslist.org/ele/d/frankfort-klipsch-chorus-ii-speakers/7298088443.html I am located in Frankfort, IN 46041 I have a pair of Chorus II speakers for sale. One is missing the woofer. All other speakers are intact and everything is original. (*SPEAKERS SOLD*) I also have a pair of Adcom GFA-565 mono amps, an Adcom GFP-565 preamp, and an Adcom GCD-575 cd player. I know the amps will need repaired. The research I've done showed that these amps had problems with capacitors leaking and causing failures and burning up speakes. This is likely why the one woofer is missing. I did try these amps and I just get static/hissing sound. The distortion light is always on too. If that helps anybody. The preamp does work as far as I can remember but it is "staticy" when the volume is adjusted. I haven't tried the CD player for years and don't know if it works or not. There is a guy that repairs the amps at https://www.ebcelectronics.com/Adcom-GFA-565-Repair-Service.html My dad got everything around 1991 I believe. I always wanted to replace the woofer and repair the other equipment. I just don't have the space or money for them right now and have had them sotting around for years. It's just time to let them go. Pictures I have are over 2MB. So, see pictures in above Craigslist post. ***UPDATE 3/28*** I DID SELL THE SPEAKERS 3/30 All sold

  25. I am currently selling my Klipsch La Scalas which I purchased new in 1979. Cosmetically, they are far from perfect, (with some chips in the top ply at edges and watermarks on the tops) in the original unfinished birch as I always preferred the look rather than staining them. Anyone with basic wood skills could make them beautiful again, however I have no such skills! I am located in Maryland, and would prefer a local pickup, but motor freight or some other method of delivery could be arranged. The crossovers are type AA, they still sound awesome and there are have been no modifications to the speakers at all. I am asking $2500 $2400 for the pair.
