  1. I have a R-112SW, it has been working fine until a while ago.. it has started turning off randomly. Sometimes it can stay on for hours, but sometimes it turns of after seconds of use.... So I figured I'd just change the plate amp, but I think I might need some help picking the right amp... My the sub is rated with 300w RMS with 600W peak if I'm not mistaken..? So what wattage for the amp am I looking at then...? I've found 2 different plate amps from Dayton Audio which as far as I can see will fit perfectly without any modification to the sub box itself atleast... The Dayton Audio SPA250DSP, the other one is primarily the same amp just with 500w (SPA500DSP) So my question is which one of these amps will work the best..?
  2. How does the r-121sw fare against the r-112sw? Has anyone had both and would like to share their thoughts?
  3. Hello Klipsch fans! I've been asked by those following my home theater build videos over the past couple years to post a current and complete walk through video. I finally got around to documenting the completed basement build. It took me over two years from design to final build of what you see here and I did it all with my own two hands and it's been a ton of work. All my audio systems throughout the house are Klipsch so I thought it particularly relevant to post it on this forum. Here are some pics of the final areas as well as the full video tour down to the collectibles in my media room.
  4. Got a RA from Crutchfield for my Black R-112SW. Adorama, an Authorized Klipsch On-line Dealer for Clearance has them in Cherry, for $299, with FREE Shipping. That’s $100, plus tax, less than many other Authorized On-line Dealers. Klipsch R-112SW Cherry If you want Black, Newegg, as of yesterday had an Open Box R-112SW for $300.
  5. Hello everyone, I am considering an upgrade for my Energy esw-8. Now I am considering buying the R-112SW, however I have not been able to find many reviews on it. I have heard the Sub 12 in action which I liked a lot in terms of power, and they seem to be pretty similar to me (Keep in mind that I am not an expert in this field, so if I'm missing something please forgive me). Looking at the specs sheets (Sub 12) (R-112SW) it seems that the main differences between the two are: 650 watts vs 600 watts dynamic power in favor of the sub 12 24Hz-120Hz vs 24Hz-125Hz frequency response in favor of the R-112SW Bash vs All digital amplifier for the sub 12 and the R-112SW respectively Output: Max continuous output sub 12: 117 dB @30 Hz 1/8 space 1 meter Max acoustic output R-112SW: 118 dB (Down-fire vs Front-fire for the sub 12 and the R-112SW respectively) (Copper Cerametalic woofer for the R-112SW) My sub-questions are: How important is the dynamic power for the overall performance? Same for the frequency response (especially considering that the difference in frequency is in the higher end) What is the difference between Bash and All Digital and which performs better? Is the output information given on both spec sheets comparable? and if yes, which one has a higher significance (and thus gives the edge to the respective subwoofer)? Does the material of the woofer make a difference in sound/performance and then my main question is of course: In terms of performance, which of the two is better? The Receiver I am using is the Denon AVR-1912 (will probably upgrade in the future, but I don't know within what time-frame) I am aware of the fact that the Sub 12 has been discontinued, but in the case that the Sub 12 is significantly better buying second hand would be an option or saving up for the R-115SW and upgrading the Receiver proportionally(The latter not being preferred in terms of financial resource management but if the upgrade isn't worth it and the sub 12 not available it's better to save up and wait as to me this is a long-term investment). Thanks in advance! (Tldr; see main question )
  6. Hi, I bought an R-112SW last August and it's been working great. After a while, the auto power-on function stopped working. My A/V receiver is Yamaha RX-A2040 and I haven't changed any settings. I settled for 'always-on' but now even when I put the switch to 'ON', it randomly shuts off and won't power back on unless I pull the power plug, wait a couple of seconds and connect the plug again. Without pulling the power plug, the power switch has no effect. It behaves like a crashed computer or something that needs a cold power reboot. I have two subwoofers connected to the receiver and the other one (Yamaha SW-315) works just fine. At first I thought something might be goingg wrong when the power-saving function kicks in (I know that's not supposed to work in the always-on mode), but it went dead while I was watching a bass-rich action movie today. Sometimes it works just fine for hours, other times it shuts off in half an hour. Any thoughts?
  7. Hi there I have a Marantz SR-7010 receiver and I added the following speakers: Floor standing Klipsch RP-280f Center Klipsch Rp-450c Subwoofer Klipsch R-112SW I run the marantz audyssey setup and then went manually to touch the central speaker and raise it up 5db more. Im quite happy with the movie dialogs they sound crystal clear but I need to still tweak the subwoofer a little more. I want a more tight punch. My speakers are set to small and the crossovers are: Rp-280f says fullband central 40hz and then in the sub config its LFE 120hz (at the back of the sub I have the auto OFF, phase to 0 and gain around 3/4db. that according to audyssey its 75db) Any hint in how to configure correclty this set up for a tighter punch. Room size is 20 square meters approx. If you need any other detail let me know, thanks a lot
  8. Hi guys! I had this subwoofer for 4 days and yesterday when i played playstation, i heard a weird crackle and pop from the subwoofer. After that, it stopped working. There was a green light on it, but no sound. I removed the powercord for 5 minutes, and now, everytime i plug in the power this happens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=983QxAEIF3w Everytime, the element gets sucked in and the green light lights up whenever it does it. And it does this 3.4 times until it shuts completely off. No green light anymore until i remove the powercord and plug it in again. Any idea what causes this? Should i just deliver it back and get a new one?
  9. Hi All, First time poster. I am having a hard time finding either a place to have an Amp plate checked out (repair) or finding how to just buy a new plate for my R-112SW. I'm having a slight (annoying) hum in it and its overly loud at times. It still works but not correctly, when I disconnect the hum goes away. I have another Brand new R-112SW connect to the same sub cable and no hum so it has to be this sub Amp. Any help on a good place to contact would be much appreciated. I'm in the Plano, TX area so some place close would be good. Can anyone help me decipher my S/N. Like how old this may be. S/N 106070014520230. Thanks. KN.
  10. Hey All, Finally got my Klipsch 5.1.2 HT ready to roll. I purchased the following and loving it so far. Klipsch RP-250F Fronts Klipsch RP-250C Center Klipsch RP-150M Surround Klipsch RP-140SA Atmos Klipsch R-112SW Subwoofer Pioneer Elite VSX-LX301 I was wondering what the optimal crossover point. I have everything set to 80hz right now. I don't feel much movement from the 5.25" drivers. Is that normal? Does anyone suggest a better crossover for these speakers? Thanks Drew
  11. Hey everyone! So I just ordered a R-115sw and after doing some measurements it would probably work better for space issues if I had the R-112sw instead. If anyone has a R-112sw and wants to upgrade I would like to trade. If not, I'll do fine with the R-115sw and have to manage . Anyways, your used R-112sw + $250 for my brand new sealed R-115sw. I am located in Southern California. Thanks for reading!!
