I live in Brazil, at the end of the year I'm going to Florida, and I'm intending to buy a set of 2.0 speakers. Firstly i thought about the sixes(499$), but after a few negative reviews complaining about boomy bass and requiring a really good placement (and in my room i don't have plenty space for putting them on their best position possible) I decided to look after a few others, I found the RP-160M (399$), would match with the Yamaha A-S301BL(349$), and after a few more research I found the towers RP-260F that in my country I can buy for around 800$ converted, completing 1150$, I don't work yet, so this is really a lot of money for me. Any suggestions? Should I buy the sixes? Is there a difference between the towers and the 160s that worth that difference? I do not have plans to add a sub, since my mainly objective with this set is music and games, some movies eventually. And as I said, i have a small room and live in a apartment with my parents, so I couldn't turn it up all the way.

A seamless, surrounding soundscape is huge for my immersion. Hearing bullets whiz past me from my fronts to the rear can make the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. It's equally goosebumpy for well-mixed horror movies! I've been using the RP 240s in a 5.2.2 for a while, but I feel (after calibrations, of course) they're a little too subtle. I don't always feel the immersion jumping out at me and they leave me wanting more. What surround speakers have you found work the best for you? A pair of Klipsch's bipole speakers, bookshelves or maybe even towers? I've read some people's experiences viewed the positives of bipoles (dispersion, wide sound etc) as negatives. Others that full sized floor standing towers made for more believable surround sound. It's something that's up to both personal preference and room dimensions, but it still seems like a tricky thing to find a "perfect" solution for. I've since ordered a pair of Klipsch RS-62 II which will be arriving soon, I have high hopes for them! In the meantime I've considered trying my old RP 250fs as surrounds. My current setup is: rf 7II, rc 64II, rp 240s, rp 140sa, 2x sb 2000

I have an Yamaha RX-A770 (Rated Output Power (20Hz-20kHz, 2ch driven, 95 W (8 ohms, 0.06% THD) Considering upgrading my speakers to a pair of Klipsch RP-260Fs and a RP-450C. Will my receiver be powerful enough? Wife doesn't like it "too loud" so I am hoping based on that I will be ok. I also have a SVS SB-1000.

Hi, I'm just about to purchase some Klipsch speakers but really need the help. I am planning on going with the RP-260F for my front left and right, and the RC-64ii for my center. I don't think I need the RP-280F as I will be buying 2 SVS PC-2000 subs to stand next to the towers so I don't see the point of the extra money spent on the 280f for the bass. My question is, that the center channel I have chosen - will it run well with the RP-260F? It's the same brand so I assume it will correct? I use my setup for movies and TV 90% of the time. If it makes any difference, the amp being used to power all these is the Onkyo TXRZ3100. I'm wanting to go for the premium center channel as speech is a big part for me and I wanted to make sure I get the best and the RC64ii is better than the 450c center speaker Klispch offers. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I'm looking to build a home theatre set up at my new house in a room which is 20' by 29' (Yup, quite a large room) in dimensions, to be used as a living room. You can assume the space used for the System will be 3/4th of that. Right now I am looking at a 7.1.2 configuration with 2x RP-260Fs as front L/R, 1x RP-440C as centre 4x RP-240S' for surround, 1x R-112SW subwoofer, and 2x R-1800-C as ceiling speakers powered by a Denon X-4300H Would this configuration suffice for the room, or would it be too underpowered? I was also given the option of the RP280Fs, RP-150S, RP-450C with R-115SW, but this seemed a bit pricey for my liking. Also wanted to know if upgrading the subwoofer from 112 to a 115 is recommended. Please give do give your suggestions.
