  1. Hello, this is my first time posting. I am looking to purchase my first ever Klipsch speakers, and a pair of KG4s in very good condition popped up in my area. I communicated with the owner and he seemed trustworthy. He also sells other types of vintage audio equipment. He’s told me everything about the KG4s are original. The only thing keeping me from purchasing is that he says the labels are missing. I understand these are old speakers, but because they are a good pair and they are exactly cheap, I would imagine people would keep the labels. This also prevents me from finding out the serial numbers and so forth. Should I keep away from these speakers? I am not too familiar yet with Klipsch speakers so I do not know if there are fake KG4s out there or something like that, and if I should be alerted with these pair. The price is also low compared to the same models on the internet like eBay, is that another sign for something? Sorry for the long writing, hope somebody could give me some advice.
  2. I recently purchased a pair of Heresy Floor Standing Speakers with matching serial numbers. I wonder if anyone her can decode the serial number for me: 165Y572. Cheers!
  3. I just purchased a pair of Hersey II's. They have been hanging (yes, hanging by chains) from a church ceiling since the day they were purchased new. I have photos of the 'labels' but the chains were mounted in the exact spot. Can anyone decipher the year of manufacture from the information in the photo? I'm certain they have good karma... Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi, Looking at a pair of KG-4 speakers. Talked to the owner, had him read me the info on the label and it doesn't seem right - all that's on there is P/N - 090000231111 and S/N 9755 for one and 9756 for the other. Shouldn't the serial number be longer than that? He said no W/O number either so... what gives?

  6. I recently bought a pair of Heresy HBRs S/N 8512896, 8512896. Can someone help me verify and date these? Thanks!
  7. Hey guys I picked up an extremely well kept pair of Klipsch Heresy speakers. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify some details about them like what kind of wood they are made of and how rare it is for a pair that are in this nice shape are. I figured out they were made in 1980 but was hoping to get more information about what options they had and if they were a particularly rare or more valuable set of speakers compared to the standard Heresy's you see pop on craigslist. They were originally purchased from Myer Emco and I have all the original paperwork but it doesn't tell me specifically details about my pair.
  8. Hello, I just picked up my fist pair of Klipsch's...a pair of evidently early Heresy's. I would like to learn as much as I can about them, eg, date of manufacture, driver details, original grill type, etc. One of the tweeters is not working, and I suspect the crossover could use a refresh. Looks like CritesSpeakers is the place to go for repairs and crossovers? The serial number for one of them is 10M053. Thanks for any info.
  9. Hello and I hope the forum can help with this please...Does the "G" referenced in serial number "1G323" (for example) on a retro Cornwall II refer to the year 1968 or 1969? Thanks and regards.
