  1. For sale is a beautifully updated Klipsch SW 10. The cabinet is a modern gray and is in excellent condition. The grill is in excellent condition with the correct badge. The 10" driver is in excellent condition with perfect surrounds. (Also, the feet are still attached!) The 12" passive was repaired and functions properly. Garage audition available to verify it functions correctly. Location : Big Rock, IL (Near Naperville) Asking: $90 for forum members
  2. I'm looking for someone that has one of these laying around taking up space. I bought an SW10 for $20, decent condition, needed amp work, but he put his thumb through the passive bringing it out of his house for the sale. Doh! (Thus, the $20, he originally had it at $60) I know I can fix the old one with silicone, but if someone has one they are looking to get rid of at a decent price, let me know,. Thanks. I'm in the Chicago suburbs.
  3. Up for sale is a Klipsch SW10 II subwoofer in the black finish. It has a 10" woofer in front and a 12" passive radiator in the back. It works great, but I just don't have a need for it asking $100.
  4. My SW10-II was new in 1994, and I'm the original owner. When I power it on, it makes a constant horrible, loud noise, like a T-Rex taking a dump, only louder and worse. It only just started doing this. I checked the cables, etc. They seem OK. And it worked OK all day, even after I did a Denon setup/calibration. And watched some TV and music. Then the next time I powered it on, it makes this roaring noise and I have to shut it off immediately. Indeed, I did move the speaker because I was setting up a new amp, and maybe the jiggling broke something loose that was "old"? I emailed a local "shop" with the symptoms, and he said: " your power supply is going out and the amp needs to be refurbished. " Anyone know about this kind of failure? Thanks -Dave
  5. I am not an audiophile but I do appreciate good sound and was blessed to inheret some nice audio equipment from which I hope to build a quality home theatre system primarily for movies & video. Here's a list of my equipment: 2X Klipsch KG5.5 Floorstanding Speakers Klipsch KV2 Center Channel Speaker Klipsch SW10-II Subwoofer Harmon Kardon AVR65 Receiver The way my room is set up makes the large KG5.5 speakers placement more practical in the back of the room behind the speaker as rear channel speakers. I guess my first question is whether this is an aceptable arrangement for these particular speakers. If yes, can you guys recommend a complementary Klipsch product for the front and rear speakers with the caveat that I need something small enough to hang from a side wall or the ceiling. And while I'm at it, can you recommend a good speaker bracket/clip/hanger for ceiling or side wall mount? Finally, if locating these big KGs in the back of the room is an audio faux pas, I'll try to find a home for them in the front of the room but still need a recomendation for the rear speakers. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help. Sincerely, Charles Madison, AL PS - Do you guys recommend using bandpass filters for the perimeter speakers when a subwoofer is part of the home audio system? If yes, where would I purchase such an animal?
