  1. Hello, I am unable to update the Play-Fi software on my Klipsch The Three device, despite multiple attempts. I can't use Play-Fi via the Klipsch Stream App or DTS Play-Fi app because the apps state the device requires an update. The device is connected to the wireless network and the wireless status LED is solid green. The network router is Play-Fi compatible as I have three other Play-Fi devices which update successfully. I have tried the following steps to update the device: Factory reset of device (per Klipsch's instructions) WiFi module reset/network reconnect (hold WiFi SETUP button for 10 seconds) Device successfully connects to home WiFi network and is visible in Play-Fi app Play-Fi update via WiFi - attempted with two different devices (iPhone and iPad) but fails after over 10 attempts Manual update via USB Attempted per Play-Fi instructions (https://play-fi.com/faq/entry/how-to-do-a-manual-speaker-update) Folders phorus and phorus5 are both located in the root directory of USB drive Used 2 different USB thumb drives formatted on PC and Mac in FAT32 format Any thoughts on what else I can do to update the device? Because of this limitation I am unable to use Play-Fi on the device even though it has a confirmed wireless network connection (listed as connected on the wireless router and wifi status led solid green). Thanks for the help!
  2. I have a pair of "The Three" which have been troublesome since I bought them some years ago. I have opened a ticket with Klipsch several days ago, but been completely ignored! The past few weeks connection has dropped multiple times for no apparent reason. Often resulting in hour long efforts to set it up again (the setup process is bizarrely slow and random). Now, in an attempt to improve matters I invested in a new router (or mesh system rather) top-tested ASUS XT8 https://www.techradar.com/reviews/asus-zenwifi-ax-xt8 Now (after another 2hrs of pulling my hair trying to setup "The Three") I manage to connect to each of the speakers and play songs from Spotify and Internet Radio, but when I pair them (as Stereo Pair or as a group) I get no sound at all, and it seems like the Klipsch app is unable to connect - even if it says it is connected and all LEDs are indicating full connection. This behaviour is the same for 2,4GHz and 5GHz - and I have tried re-doing the setup multiple times. No other device has any issues (including mobiles, tablets and PCs) and the WiFi coverage is stellar (300 Mbps). Anyone have any idea on how I fix this?
  3. Hi, i am trying to configure the Wifi of my "the three" (old version) speaker, but it does not work. When i connect with an ipad, iphone or windows PC to the unsecured SSID provided by the speaker, it seems that no IP is provided, and as such no communication possible. On the Apple devices does the app search for devices, but does not find any. I do not understand what else i may need to do in order to find the speaker in the app of one of the devices. My router does not have WPS, so i need to type in somehow the password, and the SSID, but i don´t see how/where. I would appreciate if anyone could give me a hint. thanks, J
  4. Hi, My first post here. I've had my Three since Christmas and really like it. I use it almost exclusively with an echo dot and voice commands, in my bedroom. I've been curious the whole time, though, whether I've really got it connected correctly and I don't know how to figure it out. Everything is working great so I don't have any issues...just want to make sure I'm getting the most out of it. It is my understanding that The Three can stream Tidal directly. I guess the first thing would be to confirm I have this right. And what I mean is, it doesn't go through the echo and then to the Three, but the echo tells it what to play and the Three then connects to Tidal and streams the song. I want to make sure that is actually what is happening and that it's not going through the echo first and just acting like a connected bluetooth speaker. If I say, "Alexa, play Traveling Riverside Blues on Tidal", the Three will answer with "Playing Traveling Riverside Blues by Led Zepplin, from Tidal". So, the source is coming from Tidal. I just don't know how to tell what path it is taking to get there. I have an Echo Show in the kitchen and it responds exactly the same way. And, I have an echo plus in the living room that I connect to a bluetooth receiver connected to my receiver and it also responds the same way. So, I'd like to know if there is a way to tell if I am streaming directly to the Three or if it is going through the ehco dot. Any help or insight would be appreciated. If there is already some info on this, please point me in the right direction. I was not able to find anything searching. Thanks,
  5. Hello! I was hoping to get some clarity on the Three II power ratings, versus the Three (with or without assistant). I am a bit confused as via the product page, the Three II and the Three are touted as being the same from a sound standpoint. However, from the specs pages, there seems to be a difference in power, but nothing else (from a sound perspective, not features). Anyone have any clue whats going on here? Worth noting that all the other specs are identical, even weight between the two. The Three II Specs The Three (with assistant) Specs
  6. Hi guys, I have a question and hope someone can help me with my problem. First of all i have to say sorry if my english sounds a bit strange, cause I'm not a native speaker! My problem is the following: I upgraded my audio system with two Klipsch floorstanding speaker (RP280F) which I have connected to a Denon AVR (X2500H). I also bought a Klipsch The Three speaker. Both speakers are absolutly mindblowing, but I have some trouble playing the same music on both speakers simultaneously. Is there at least a way to do this? For example, could I use the Klipsch "The Gate" and plug it into my AVR at the "Zone2" channels to stream the music per WLAN to the Klipsch "The Three" speaker? I would be very grateful for any ideas or suggestions!
  7. Hello everyone! Been a Klipsch user for many years (two K-Horns), but this is my first forum post. I just got The Three and two Gates. I would like to connect to "The Three" via Bluetooth to play music and have that stream to the "Gates" so it can be played throughout the house. I managed to get it so that if I play music on the Gate, I can stream to The Three, but not the other way around. Is this possible? I ask because my only Bluetooth receiver in the system is "The Three". I would think that since the Gate has inputs and outputs, it was designed for multi-purpose. Anyone have any ideas on how I can play BT connected music to The Three and have it send it to the "Gate"? Need more info or a diagram? I would be happy to oblige. :)
  8. I just purchased the three and was excited about their play-fi option to bring in multiple devices because I’m planning on building a bookshelf system in my kitchen that I want to link to it in another room. I figured I’d just get the power gate as an amp but the reviews are horrible. Then I thought I’d get the gate and hook it up to a regular amp. Also horrible reviews. Finally I figured I’d just get the sixes, but they are Bluetooth only? Why would the “one” be Bluetooth only, the three have WiFi and Bluetooth, then “the sixes” be back to just Bluetooth?! im thinking about literally Hooking up a Bluesound or sonos attachment to my “three” and just skipping the “play-fi” thing altogether. has anyone been successful with multiroom play-fi using klipsch brand products?
  9. So I talked a buddy of mine into buying The Three as his wife has banned big old stereo equipment from her brand new living room. He and his old school stereo will be banished to a loft with the obligatory mega TV. His kids stream via Spotify, which the excellent review posted in the Klipsch Announcements forum advocated for use with The Three. My question is, it states in the review that additional The Three units can be placed throughout the house and linked together, can The Three also link with The One? Are there other Klipsch Wireless speakers that could be used in concert with The Three? Thanks in advance for any help, I am a bit out of my league with this whole new fangled contraption.
  10. I was wondering which speaker system is the better overall setup for casual music listening and the occasional college party. Thanks for the help guys if you could compare the two of them it would be great as they are similar price range speaker systems.
  11. Finally getting around after back surgery and getting (Mother's Day gift) "The Three" up and running. Darn thing will not power on! At least I don't think it is. There are no LEDs lit up, nothing audible with my ear up to the unit while rotating input selector and volume, etc. Not visible as a Wi-Fi device from the App. I measured 120VAC at the end of the power cord. Anyone have a clue? I have already had one return on this order; they sent The One instead of The Three! Rick
