  1. Mates: I'm looking for opinions as to what current Klipsch speaker is closest in comparison to the KLF-20's. For insurance purposes due to a house fire, we are attempting to ascertain "replacement value", (ie., cost to replace currently-not "actual cash" value which calculates initial cost minus depreciation). Company has been very fair to date and recognizes it is very difficult to compare the Legend series to current lines, so input from those of you with much more knowledge/experience would be much appreciated! Thanks!
  2. Although the stickers are removed, I believe these are Klipsch KLF-20's. Great shape, work well. Local pickup only. In Fountain Hills, AZ (close to Scottsdale, AZ). Asking $800 for the pair. KSF-10.5's, KLF-C7 and KV3's below: Also have (I believe) are a pair of KSF-10.5's. The foot on it is broken (pictured), but rests fine. We're going to be repairing at time of this post, but want full disclosure that one foot was repaired. But, sits level even though foot is off. Speakers work great. Asking $400. KLF-C7 Center Channel speaker is available. Great shape, works great. Pictured below. Asking $250. KV3 Center Channel speaker (oak) is available. Great shape, works great. Pictured below. Asking $200
  3. Folks: My KLF-20's are being "totaled out" by my insurance due to smoke damage. While I am sure this is subjective, what would be a current "comparable" klipsch speaker in sound quality and price to help determine replacement/replacement value (I believe they retailed in 1996 for around $1500 a pair). While I might consider diving into the used market, I am not a DIY guy, so there is a risk in buying 20-25 year old equipment in the event of repairs or upgrades. Thanks in advance!
  4. I have excellent condition OEM K-1036-E woofers. We all know these don't pop up very often! Original mounting screws and gaskets included. Located in the Western Burbs of Chicago 60511 $125 each or all 4 for $450 As always, garage audition welcome to verify correct functionality.
  5. Can somebody tell me about the sticker like the year and stuff Thanks -Zac
  6. Hello all, Has anyone tried to use the RF-7 II/III woofers($145 Part#1064791)in their KLF-20's? If so, results/thoughts? Also, has anyone tried the Ciare HW 250 ($100) Perhaps with sealing up the ports? or the Ciare HW 251N? ($130) Just curious as I may be looking to upgrade the drivers in the future. p.s. I know some of you will flip out and say you have to have the exact thiele/small parameters, but please resist the urge to vomit all over this post. Thanks.
  7. As was posted elsewhere an query to Klipsch for a forte III horn was sent in and this is what came back from them. Now maybe I am wrong but I think this might be a diaphragm kit and not the horn itself? We will give this another go at it in a few days
  8. Hello, New member to the Klipsch community, but not to their products. I purchased a pair of KLF-20 speakers brand new in spring, 2001. I still have them and enjoy them very much. I am upgrading my stereo equipment, and would like to upgrade my KLF-20's. I have heard lots of good things about Bob Crites- and had a great discussion with his son, Mike. He recommended I replace the diaphragms in the K-79 tweeters, and replace the horn drivers and crossover. Sounds good- however- one of the K-79 tweeters stopped working a few yrs. back. I had a K-84 tweeter available, so I simply replaced it with that one. It fit perfectly into the cabinet and still works now. I no longer have the old K-79 that stopped working. Rather than replace diaphragms in 2 different tweeters, I was thinking it might be a better idea to buy new replacement tweeters that I could simply plug in and replace in the cabinet. Any recommendations for this? Are there Crites tweeters that would fit the bill? What about the new B&C MAHL Tweeters instead of Crites? Would they be compatible with the new Crites Horn Driver and crossover? I'm happy to spend my money to get a great update on speakers that I have very much enjoyed nearly 20 yrs. I'm also looking for some new grilles and feet. I listen to mainly classic rock- Lynyrd Skynyrd-Beatles-Deep Purple- etc. thru a fully restored vintage Marantz 2325 receiver and a KAB modded Technics SL-1200 MK5 turntable and TEAC Reel to Reel. I like lots of puncy, clean bottom end, with clean mids/highs. I'm a bit of a layman when it comes to technical terms, but I can certainly do my own work to replace/upgrade the speakers. Any help on this would be most appreciated!!
  9. Hi all, looking for a pair of the KLF-20 woofers; model K-1036-K. Let me know if you have a pair you'd be willing to part with. I'm located in the Minneapolis area. Thanks!
  10. I have a pair of slightly mismatched (see pictures) Klipsch Legend KLF-20 speakers. Sound great, cabinets in decent shape with a few dings and scratches here and there. One of the cabinets was apparently resealed at the back before I got it; that can be seen in the picture showing the input terminals...the one on the left. Have been sitting unused for about two years, Will take 200 watts continuous undistorted RMS, with 800 watts peak. You can drive these until your ears bleed. Big and heavy, way too heavy to ship, so pick up in Los Angeles only, or I'm willing to drive no more than 60 or so miles to meet you somewhere. $400 for the pair because they're very slightly mismatched and because the cabinets can use a small amount of cosmetic work. But they sound really great. On eBay as 'blue11' for more than 20 years, more than 600 feedbacks, no negatives for the entire 20 years. Payment accepted through PayPal. Thanks for looking.
  11. Came across a set of 30's for the right price so I decided to attempt a ground up re- design in an attempt to finally squeeze from this speaker the bass it SHOULD be producing. Although I currently own a pair of KLF 20's and a pair of KLF 30's, I couldn't pass these up at the price point I STOLE them at. Planning to reinforce the cabinet to the tune of 1.5" mdf ( box-in-box) with all the proper dampening, insulation, bracing, etc. Cabinet re-tune, correct those useless ports, and in all likelihood will try a non-crites crossover custom built by Norman Cerveny Pro Audio. Will refinish the outer cabinet as well with unfinished wood veneer with many coats of Hi Gloss lacquer, haven't decided on a stain color yet. Although KLF 30 mods are fairly standard these days, Norm Cerveny will be doing these from start to finish since this will be more than a simple modification.
  12. I have a pair of KLF20s and a pair of KLF C-7s that I was going to use as double centers. But,, I could get my hands on a KLF10 as a center and put the C7s as direct surrounds on left and right rear. Would that work? What about a modified KLF10 with the tweeter in the center of the 2 woofers, andd then place it on its side? Yes this is an extension of my previous D'appolito center made from KG4 or Heresy parts. thanks
  13. Need a single K-52 driver and horn for KLF-30 rebuild. Came across a set of 30's for the right price so I decided to attempt a ground up re- design in an attempt to finally squeeze from this speaker the bass it SHOULD be producing. Although I currently own a pair of KLF 20's and a pair of KLF 30's (love these monsters) I would rather not pull a driver from either for this rebuild. Planning to reinforce cabinet to the tune of 1.5" mdf with all the proper dampening, insulation, bracing, etc. Cabinet re-tune, correct those useless ports, and in all likelihood will try a non-crites crossover custom built by Norman Cerveny Pro Audio. Will refinish the outer cabinet as well. Anyway one of these new old 30's as purchased contained a Selenium mid driver attached to a cracked horn. Certainly not complaining with regards to the Selenium squawker but I have a set of Ti's I would like use. Will trade the Selenium if necessary. Although a KLF 30 rebuild is fairly standard these days I am fairly anxious haven't done one in years.
  14. I recently bought a pair of KLF-20 and one speaker has broken the horn adapter which connect the horn to the driver of the mid. Does someone know where I can find one?
