  1. I'm setting up a new system. I'm using a Yamaha RX-v665 with a bi-amp set up on my RF-62s. I have the option of using one of two center speakers. An Sc1, which fits well in my cabinet, but may be overwhelmed, since it does not permit bi-amp setup. An RC3 ii, which I can bi-amp using center + rear center on the amp, but requires placement on the floor, or a new cabinet to setup. My room has brick and glass walls, a hardwood floor, and a shallow cathedral ceiling with wood rafters. Also, any recommendations for Surround speakers?
  2. I'm going to break this thread into four sections, the 5.0 setup, RF-83 vs Khorns, the RS-62's, and bi-amp. I am of the opinion that passive bi-amping works but the sound differences are minute. I intend to bi-amp the RF-83's with the Marantz expecting to confirm that theory. +++ I picked up a nice RF-83 package last week for a good price. RF-83, RC-64, and RS-62. Power is by the Marantz SR-6011. Thank you @jwc. I've got Khorns, CF-4's and some other nice speakers, but the WAF for the giant speakers is very low. The RF-83's are much higher on the WAF scale. After having the Khorns in the living room in a 3.1 to 5.1 configuration I didn't know if I could take less good sounding speakers. The RF-83's probably suffer technically, but in terms of pure fun the RF-83's with their mid-slam is proving to be "good enough" and they are much nicer looking in the living room.
  3. 2x Klipsch RF-62 II Floorstanding Speakers for Sale! Looking for around $250 each $500 for both or best offer. They are adult owned, never abused, smoke free home and will ship in the retail boxes. I can ship anywhere in the USA. I will ask whoever buys these to pay for shipping. I will charge actual shipping costs, nothing extra. I get a huge shipping discount 60%+ off UPS rates. Speakers are located in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Suburbs. I will attach some picture tonight. More pictures are available upon request. I can also upload pictures of the boxes as well. Thank you!
  4. Hey guys, It's pretty hard to get older klipsch equipment around here and some weeks ago i was lucky to finde some so i bought a used RC-64 II and the RS-62 II to extend my setup of two RF-62 and a RW-12D Sub. Does it make sense to replace the RF 62 with the RF 62 II not for aesthetics (the RF 62 II speakers are more bronze in color), but for sound? or maybe even upgrade to the RF 82 II? I wonder how you guys think about it.
  5. New to Klipsch and home theater in general. I was advised to post a WTB here Want to buy RF-62 or RF-82 5.0 home theater setup for around $700. Would like 62s or 82s tower with matching center and surrounds. For those scouring craigslist, I'm in Kansas City but am willing to drive ~5 hours (which includes Oklahoma City, St. Louis, Omaha, Des Moines) EDIT: I picked up the RS-42 II's from Ibiza, so am now looking for the fronts and center only and am hoping to land all three speakers for around $500 or so. EDIT2: I'm all set!! Thanks to IbizaFlame for the RF-52s. Thanks to Scrappydue for the RF-83s and RC-62. Gonna have a killer setup for my first home theater (though if Scrappydue is any kind of foreshadowing of my future, I may just be getting started...)
  6. Greetings! So im new to the community and this is my first post! So far Ive enjoyed reading the conversations that this community has and now its time to get my feet wet as well . Here we go, I'm looking for a pair of reference series tower speakers to go with my RC-35 center channel. I just started building my surround setup (against my wife's will) and am on a very limited budget (aren't we all.) What I'm willing to pay is dependent on the condition and model of speakers. my maximum budget is $400 including shipping (if needed, I'm located close to Sacramento, CA.) Please PM me or comment if your looking to get rid of some speakers. PS:Any forum advise is also welcomed
  7. Location: Worcester, MA. 01610 I am currently looking for a set of either RF-62ii or RF-82ii speakers along with an RC-62ii center and RS-52ii surrounds. I have been looking into buying new but attempting to find an excellent condition used set as I'm not rich. No interest in speakers that are flawed aesthetically and in hopes that one of the dedicated audiophiles here on the forum will give some guidance on this attempt. The set will be powered by an Emotiva LPA-1 (5@125, 2@50 Watt) amplifier and UMC-200 Pre/Pro. Any help with this is greatly appreciated and Thanks in advance for any and all support! Upgrading from WF-34 and WC-24 Icon Woods
