  1. I live in Brazil, at the end of the year I'm going to Florida, and I'm intending to buy a set of 2.0 speakers. Firstly i thought about the sixes(499$), but after a few negative reviews complaining about boomy bass and requiring a really good placement (and in my room i don't have plenty space for putting them on their best position possible) I decided to look after a few others, I found the RP-160M (399$), would match with the Yamaha A-S301BL(349$), and after a few more research I found the towers RP-260F that in my country I can buy for around 800$ converted, completing 1150$, I don't work yet, so this is really a lot of money for me. Any suggestions? Should I buy the sixes? Is there a difference between the towers and the 160s that worth that difference? I do not have plans to add a sub, since my mainly objective with this set is music and games, some movies eventually. And as I said, i have a small room and live in a apartment with my parents, so I couldn't turn it up all the way.
  2. Hi. I've set up my Denon + Klipsch home theater setup (no surround speakers for now). I have: Denon AVR-X1500H Klipsch: pair RP-260F, RP-250C, R-120SW I listen 50 % music, 50 % netflix videos. I'm tuning my system to optimal settings and having few open matters to discuss. Most of the online references recommend to trust Audyssey and then leave subs to LFE and 80-100hz and fronts and center to SMALL. When I auto-tune with Audyssey I'm not satisfied with music (concerts), middle tones and strength of fronts (bass and voice is great). Everything is undertuned I think if I listen music (I set settings to Music mode Stereo in Denon), but movies are great to hear (set to Movie mode in denon (dts)). Then I manually tune and set sub to LFE + Mains, fronts to LARGE (leave center to small) my fronts start to respond more to middle tunes, rock concerts and other music is great to listen. What do you recommend would be my optimal settings? I don't want to switch between settings 🙂 I attached some settings and room details.
  3. Hi everyone, I'm new in the forum, and got in here because I was tempted to get the reference premiere RP-260F floorstanders, like it more the 280F, but I prefer to be just right in the middle between the 250 and 280, and compensating with a subwoofer the smaller 6,5" woofers of the 260F. Anyway, I got to the store and they run out of the RP-260F, and not getting any RP-250/260/280F anymore, since, as they said, Klipsch is replacing them with the "all new reference premiere" rp line, to be said; 5000, 6000 and 8000F respectively. (BTW, I'm not in the states, so I'm not buying directlty from Klipsch, crutchfield, BB, others, handling, taxes, and mostly, shipping) They still have a pair of RP-280F, and they're also expecting a shipment of RP-5000/6000/8000F in the next few weeks. Have you guys any thoughts about the comparable RP-6000F with the one I wanted to buy?, the RP-260F? (same woofers size), how would it compare the RP-6000F with the available RP-280F? The price of these two are almost the same here. Thanks in advance for your advice!
  4. HI, I am a new discoverer of Klipsch speakers and I love de design and I hope the sound. I have the Yamaha RX-A870 A/V receiver, and I am considering buying two Klipsch floor speakers, and a central one. The receiver specs are: 100 W per channel (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 0.06% THD, 2-ch driven) 160 W per channel (4 ohms, 1 kHz, 0.9% THD, 1-ch driven) 160 W per channel (8 ohms, 1 kHz, 10% THD, 1-ch driven) I have the doubt to buy RP-260F or R-26F, or perhaps RP-280F or R-28F. Can you recommend which of them would be better with the Yamaha RX-A870 A/V receiver? For the central one I'll buy RP-250C or RP-440C. Yours sincerely.
  5. I want to purchase two Rp-240s for surrounds, but im a bit worried that my Emotiva Xpa5 @ 200 watts per channel maybe two much power. Can someone give me some advice, will this setup be ok?..
  6. The Reference towers are approx 1.5 years old. Perfect shape. Ebony finish. No boxes for these, so local cash pickup only (Auburn, WA). $500 firm. Actual pics available on request. The Quintet set is in great shape also. Bought used locally a couple years ago, but we moved shortly after I picked them up and the little system they were meant for never came to be. 4 sats and center only on these.. no sub. $150 firm. These are in their original packaging, so could ship them. And, although not my main focus to sell, I also have a pair of earlier SVS Ultra Cylinder subs (passive) with separate 1,000W Samson amp that I will part with. The room I'm in now will not accommodate these things. $700 for the pair with amp. Local only on these as well. Thanks for looking. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
  7. fellow K-Heads, i need some advice....i have not listened to the new speakers, RP-260F and RP-440C. has anyone who has listened to the original RF7/RC7 and the ones i'm considering have an opinion on the comparison? i'm asking this because someone has an interest in buying my set up. i understand mine are modified and not modified like any other on this forum, so a base line is hard to have. what i'm struggling with is, once my "babies" are gone, they are gone. i've spent so much time, energy, and money one them, their value to me is much higher than resale. as i type this, even if the potential owner would give me super high end, top dollar, what i would sell them for, i don't think i would. i never thought i would feel this way about speakers. so in a nut shell, are the "new" speakers any good? worth the switch? i know Klipsch is a business and they need to keep designing new stuff to sell, so i do get it. thanks for any advice.....
  8. Good afternoon Interested Compatibility: Klipsch speakers RP-260F + Denon AV receiver AVR-X4200W + Klipsch speakers RP-440C. 65% / 35% - Film / Music, room - 20m2 Thank You
  9. So I'm trying to nail down my new fronts, centering around the RP-260F. However, I'm questioning the height dimensions of the RP-260F as listed on Klipsch's actual spec sheet showing 36.6 inches high. The smaller RP-250F is listed as having a height of 36.1 inches high, and the larger RP-280F listed as 43.06 inches high. So there is only a half-inch difference in height between the 250F vs the 260F? You can see all three speakers lined up next to each other on this asian video: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=video&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCkQtwIwAQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmy.tv.sohu.com%2Fus%2F101866192%2F79152825.shtml&ei=fytJVdvbHoaigwSA5YDAAw&usg=AFQjCNElEf9-1jrua-qlflU2UeTdYY1rkA ...it seems clear to me the 260F is like three inches taller than the 250F and about 3-inches shorter than the 280F. Yet, as noted above, this seems to contradict the spec sheets as shown on Klipsch's own website. Anyone out there actually own the 260F that could measure the actual height of the speaker?
  10. Hello, The new Reference Premieres are slowly getting on sale in Germany, so I have not had a chance to see or to listen to any of them yet: If you have; How do they compare to the RF 62II? The RP-250F, so the smallest of the floor standers are priced roughly the same as the RF 62II. The RP-260F are priced slightly higher than the RF-82II anf the 280F somewhat higher than that and probably outside my budget anyway..... Sincerely Carsten Junge
