  1. I am new to Klipsch and new to this forum. I grew up in the 80s outside of Hope, AR (in Texarkana) and always new of Klipsch as the pinnacle of speaker quality, although I could never afford them. Well, I found a pair of CF3 v.1s on my local shopgoodwill.com and go them for $350! They are in great shape. I'm looking forward to hooking them up and taking them for a test drive. However, I have a Harmon Kardon AVR520 tuner that I mainly used as garage listening with some old Sony SS-U7030s that I kept from my college days. Will this HK do the trick for a non-audiophile or should I look to upgrade the receiver? Can I just add an amp to boost the output? Please understand that I know very little at this point about the audio technical world, but I am willing to learn. So, please use layman's terms if you are able to provide any advice or feedback.
  2. I found a pair of CF3s, version 1 on shopgoodwill.com. When I hooked them up I found that one of the tweeters crackles at any dB level. I pulled the horn out and detached the driver but couldn’t tell anything from looking at it. The diaphragm looked good and I couldn’t see any damage to the cone, though it is really hard to see anything. Any thoughts? Any way to fix or replace it? This is my first foray into Klipsch and high quality audio so your help is appreciated
  3. Pair of Cherry CF4's just popped up in Minneapolis for $700. I haven't contacted the guy to see if they're there but it's worth a shot. If anyone gets them, just curious to what version they are. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/eld/5891593430.html

  5. Hello all! I have a set of CF4 version 2 with the 2.5" ports. I've been searching around the forum for a while now and it sounds like the ports are easily swappable (which I can confirm by just pulling one out). My question is, what have you guys been putting back in that's longer? I've found some different sized ports online, but nothing is standard. Was curious if someone else had success with any one certain product. If not I was looking into extending with custom PVC or the like. Best
  6. Greetings all. First post for a long time lurker. On the 29th of January, I purchased a set of V1 CF3's. I absolutely love the sound of these speakers. As many have stated, they truly do it all. After some spirited listening, I noticed an annoying rattle/vibration. Upon further inspection, I discovered that the adhesive has let go on 3 of the 4 dust caps. The previous owner was a smoker and I figure this contributed to their failure. Does anyone have a recommendation for a suitable replacement? I measure them to be just under 4 inches and the only vendor I find selling a 4" poly dust cap is PartsExpress. http://www.parts-express.com/4-poly-speaker-dust-cap--260-383 Can anyone confirm if this would be suitable? The picture doesnt look very appealing and the description states that it's primarily used on 12-15" woofers. Seeing how these are 10's, I am looking for a vote of confidence that this is the correct solution to my problem. As soon as I figure out how to post pics, I will showoff my newly acquired gems. Thank you in advance to any who reply
  7. I'm looking to upgrade to some newer smaller stuff. I wheel and deal on eBay and thought and I may have a better chance finding buyers here. The cf3's are black and cosmetically in good shape for their age. The cf2's have no enclosure (except my custom one they are in now) but I do have all the parts including the damping material (volume of damping material can be installed as designed that way). The drivers are in great shape. The KV-4 center channel has the same horn as the cf2's. It is in good condition as well. I'm doing some photographing this weekend so I can post the pictures soon.
