  1. I'm looking for a Chorus II in LA area if anyone has one for sale FOUND, thanks everyone
  2. Greetings! I recently got rid of my Vintage Klipsch La Scala due to lack of room ( I'm still heart broken), I need something "smaller" like Fortes or Chorus. After doing several hours of looking for an alternative and research I decided to stick with Klipsch... I have had Klipsch since day 0, Rp-160m, Forte ii and La Scalas. Since I had forte ii ( Crites ti tweeters and recapped crossover) I know how well it sound. I recently discovered Chorus which they're bigger. Looking through FB marketplace there's a seller with a pair of Fortes ii ( recapped and ti tweeters) for $850 (one hour away from me). Also there's another seller with a pair of Chorus i (all stock) for $1,600 ( three hours away from me). My question is am I going to notice a huge difference between speakers? Is worth it pay more for the Chorus i plus upgrades? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated! Thank you in advance Happy holidays! Edwin
  3. K-48 vs Faital Pro 15 PR 400 C I think its a win win here. With higher spl, and lower mowing mass weight. Fs is lower. Se data specs. https://www.parts-express.com/faitalpro-15pr400-15-neodymium-professional-woofer-4-ohm--294-1270 Should be bolt on without major changes. Maybe other speaker elements that are a better replacement than what most people use? This is just a thought I have😎
  4. Craigslist link https://tippecanoe.craigslist.org/ele/d/frankfort-klipsch-chorus-ii-speakers/7298088443.html I am located in Frankfort, IN 46041 I have a pair of Chorus II speakers for sale. One is missing the woofer. All other speakers are intact and everything is original. (*SPEAKERS SOLD*) I also have a pair of Adcom GFA-565 mono amps, an Adcom GFP-565 preamp, and an Adcom GCD-575 cd player. I know the amps will need repaired. The research I've done showed that these amps had problems with capacitors leaking and causing failures and burning up speakes. This is likely why the one woofer is missing. I did try these amps and I just get static/hissing sound. The distortion light is always on too. If that helps anybody. The preamp does work as far as I can remember but it is "staticy" when the volume is adjusted. I haven't tried the CD player for years and don't know if it works or not. There is a guy that repairs the amps at https://www.ebcelectronics.com/Adcom-GFA-565-Repair-Service.html My dad got everything around 1991 I believe. I always wanted to replace the woofer and repair the other equipment. I just don't have the space or money for them right now and have had them sotting around for years. It's just time to let them go. Pictures I have are over 2MB. So, see pictures in above Craigslist post. ***UPDATE 3/28*** I DID SELL THE SPEAKERS 3/30 All sold
  5. If you're thinking about selling your Fortes 1 or 2s or possibly the Chorus, msg me with pricing. Thanks! I have mint KG4s I'm looking to upgrade/sell or trade in after I find the Fortes.
  6. Up for sale is a wonderful sounding pair of Klipsch Chorus II's. Chorus II's are hard to find on the used market and even more rare in walnut veneer. This pair has been upgraded with Crites titanium tweeter diaphragms and the crossovers have been recapped with Sonicap Gen II caps (Crites recap kit). The upgrades were no subtle improvement. This is a great sounding pair of speakers. A pair I would be happy to own and listen to long term. I'm only selling to generate funds and make room for something else. There are a few cosmetic blemishes, but these are highly presentable. They look great despite their minor flaws. There's one veneer chip on the top of one speaker. There are a few other smaller blemishes, nicks, etc, but nothing major. See pics and video below. These are sonically perfect. One of the passive woofers has been repaired. It had a small puncture that was repaired from the inside with paper towel and Elmer's glue. See photos. Any questions, please feel free to ask. If you happen to be on the route from Pittsburgh, PA to Alexandria, VA, act fast, I can deliver these to you tomorrow morning. Price: $750 firm SOLD Location: Franklin, PA 16323 Speakers can be seen and heard here: Lots of pics in this album:https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZUrS8j52BHqMsMKp7
  7. I’ve had this pair of Quartets for a little over two years. They were my first legitimate speaker. Needless to say I was eager to get the most out of them and after replacing the tweeters with the crites titanium tweeters and installing new capacitors in the crossovers, these have served me well! My wife and I moved into a smaller home so these need to find a new home. The cabinets are in good shape, I haven’t done anything to the veneer. There’s one noticeable scratch on top of one cab that was there at the time of purchase. Grill cloths have some slight discoloration on them. Badges are tight and snug. A good warm bath would loosen whatever set into the grills. There is only one factory label left left on the rear of the cab. $525 and they’re yours. These reside in Edmond/Oklahoma City. Id prefer not to ship these. Local pickup only. If it’s not too far we could potentially meet halfway. They are listed on craigslist and Facebook marketplace as well.
  8. Sold.... Hello, Up for sale are my Chorus. Here is a link to my local craigslist ad, because you never know: https://tallahassee.craigslist.org/ele/d/89-klipsch-chorus-speakers/6572686433.html Thanks! Edit: $350 to forum members over 3 months here.
  9. These speakers are really in decent physical shape, not perfect. I have more photos and am absolutely willing to do a "video tour" to show fronts sides and back all together on both if anyone is interested. Had them in my living room for quite a while, they are just too big for my house though. Sound amazing to me but I really don't know much about speakers or sound systems. I have a feeling someone would love to have these for a better than decent price so make an offer if you are interested. They are heavy too so I don't really want to ship them, wouldn't even know how to do that, but I suppose I would entertain the idea if you are paying for the shipping. Better if you are in driving range of Austin Texas and can come get them. OK go... don't be shy.
  10. In my own research I found this unnoticed tidbit of information, and would like to add to the reference base with some documentation for evidence, and an example for proof. I own a pair of Klipsch Quartet with brown speaker grills. I thought they were rare in that they were special order only, but I had no idea how rare. I have only found one other instance of the brown cloth on the forums in a pair of Forte. If you have a brown speaker grill from a pair of Chorus I,II, or Forte I,II, or Quartet please post a photo for the archives. As you can see in the photo I provided below the grills are not like the black Forte II grill I placed for reference. I would say the color is not actually brown, but more of a dusty gray with drab olive green tint. The fabric thread is courser, thicker, and not poly/nylon. Possible a wool blend. I will try to contact Duracrest for the actual thread and weave used. And for the documentation I provide to you links to 3 dealer price lists showing the option being available for KG1, KG3 ,KG4, QUARTET, FORTE II, CHORUS I, CHORUS II http://images.klipsch.com/Pricelist_891001_635164927565692000.pdf http://images.klipsch.com/Pricelist_901000_635164927604848000.pdf http://images.klipsch.com/Pricelist_940801_635164927620604000.pdf It states: Speaker which feature grille cloth as standard equipment will be shipped with black grill cloth unless another color is ordered. Grill cloth for Quartet, Forte II, Chorus II are: black(19) and brown(20). Academy available in black grill. KLIPSCH HERITAGE SERIES HISTORICAL REFERENCE DATA Edit to: section 8. GRILLS TYPES & CLOTH CODES (Part-2) edit as follows Add to the list: #20 = Duracrest #20, brown, weave (Forte, Chorus, etc.) So the results would give the following VIII. KLIPSCH GRILLS & CLOTH CODES: #03 = Cane #13 = Heritage brown #15 = White/black coarse weave #17 = Duracrest, black, poly-olefin, stranded, coarse weave (Heritage only) #18 = Duracrest, brown, poly-olefin, stranded, coarse weave (Heritage only) #19 = Duracrest #19, black, poly/ nylon, flat weave (Forte, Chorus, etc.) #20 = Duracrest #20, brown, weave (Forte, Chorus, etc.)
  11. I’m looking for a pair of choruses, I think I’m leaning towards the I’s. I also have two pair of fortes I could apply towards a trade if that interests anyone. I’m in the Atlanta GA area. Even if you don’t have any, if you see some for sale, let me know.
  12. Selling my Chorus 2's. These speakers sound awesome, they have New Crites titanium tweeters and new Crites crossovers. The cabinets have some nicks and small scratches but over all in good shape. The grills are in excellent shape. The rear passives have a few small dents but function properly. The risers are intact but are not in as good condition as the rest of the speakers. $750.
  13. I have LaScala Ind separates with Crites crossovers and bass drivers. I love them but a set of Chorus came up local to me and I was wondering if they would be worth buying. Seller is asking $850 and they look to be in good shape. I believe they are Chorus 1 as he does not mention any series numbers. Any opinions and experience how these two compare? I am driving them with MC30s. Primarily, I listen at moderate levels (yelling to be heard sitting next to each other) to old rock, jazz and blues. I am not into thumping bass but like a good sound stage and realistic sound reproduction. Thanks,
  14. I'm located in Illinois. Will drive a fair bit for the right deal. Also looking for very clean Chorus iis Thanks!
  15. Hey all, New guy here. I just inherited a set of Chorus IIs that are unfortunately in a bit of a state of disrepair. One of the negative terminals on the system is busted off. Can anyone detail the process I'm going to need to take to repair it? Am I going to have to solder? I already contacted Klipsch support and they put me in contact with a repair shop that does not have the terminals in stock, so is there a generally accepted after market set to use? Thanks in advance!
  16. Selling my consecutive serial numbered Klipsch Chorus II speakers in original condition. Few minor nicks and dings but overall in original excellent condition considering their age. Buyer is welcome to demo before purchase. Other components in pictures are not for sale. I can ship these but buyer will be responsible for cost. Please inquire if you would like these shipped. 3% PayPal fee for transactions. I would like to sell these locally in the SF Bay Area and would be willing to deliver within a reasonable distance or meet halfway. Please ask with any questions. Asking $1200.00 for the pair.

  22. I've been cleaning up a pair of Klipsch Quartet's that I'll be powering with my Amps & Sound Classic Wonder single ended 6B4G triode tube amp. The squawkers and tweeters both run too high in comparison to the woofers, and I'd like to reduce them by about 5dB. Currently I have a pair of Heresy II's that I'm using $89 ALK Engineering transformer tweeter attenuators (set a -5db). What value of resisters can I use to accomplish the exact same thing without spending $89 a set? Thanks, Mike
