Just gauging opinions on using a vintage Crown D-75A to drive the top end of bi amped Klipschorns. I have access to one I can purchase cheap enough to have it gone through and upgraded as necessary as I know it has some age, but then so do I! Thanks in advance for your input. Opinions have varied wildly (as I expected) in other forums. I anticipate more rational responses here!
I'm looking for something that is as simplistic as it can be for testing purposes only. I need to be able to easily swap out different drivers, horns, bass bins and be able to quickly adjust the frequencies sent to the various components. I'm not looking for anything with a steep learning curve at all, this is not something that will be permanent in any rig and it needs to be able to do a 3 way. This doesn't have to be the best, most accurate piece of gear, it needs to be cheap and simple so nothing that any of you are running on your JUBS, I want plug and play in minutes, not hours, days or months. Some of you must know of a solution.
Has anyone bought/used this Dayton Audio DSP-408? See https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-dsp-408-4x8-dsp-digital-signal-processor-for-home-and-car-audio--230-500?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwJu3pN2E4QIVkoRpCh04Rg2CEAAYASAAEgJwqPD_BwE . Looks interesting Main reason for asking ... currently have a miniDSP 2x4 (NOT the HD version). But my preamp puts out max 20V and this miniDSP is only good for a 2V input (i.e. clipping when I turn my preamp past 10 o"clock ... yes; know I could use an attenuator). The Dayton DSP has "high voltage" inputs, but not sure what that means But, output is only 0.9V (edited ... 0.9V is the output of the miniDSP) ... like to have more for my pro amps. Also not sure if it integrates as easily with REW as the miniDSP. Thanks a lot, Emile
