  1. I picked up a pair of Forte Is yesterday for $600 - I've always wanted to try some out. 1. They're definitely as advertised - that midrange horn is VERY pronounced. I heard there's some modification that can be made to maybe balance that out a little, was wondering if that's true, or if I should just focus on correcting via placement and the eq on my receiver? 2. These Fortes were painted black, but I noticed the original walnut finish is under the paint. I am NOT handy, but is there a way of getting it down to the original finish? I read something about steel wool and doing something called an "oil wax" - but I have NO IDEA WHAT I AM DOING when it comes to that kind of operation... Thanks
  2. I have a subwoofer that i had built and then I veneered in walnut. Im wondering what stain to use to get it to match my 70s belles. The bells seem very warm and orange and the tests I've done on scraps of veneer don't even get close to the warmth.
