I have used these Forte 2’s about 5 years as mains in my surround system (Academy and Quartet’s). However, I have moved and decided to go 2channel only. I am selling my entire surround system to fund a new 2 channel system. When purchased this pair had cosmetic issues and I repainted them black. One corner had been patched and i have included that in the pictures below. I replaced the tweeter diaphragms with titanium and crossovers both from Crites. These sound great and the drivers and radiators appear to be in good shape. The grills are also in good shape with badges. Local sale only, can audition. Greetings! I recently got rid of my Vintage Klipsch La Scala due to lack of room ( I'm still heart broken), I need something "smaller" like Fortes or Chorus. After doing several hours of looking for an alternative and research I decided to stick with Klipsch... I have had Klipsch since day 0, Rp-160m, Forte ii and La Scalas. Since I had forte ii ( Crites ti tweeters and recapped crossover) I know how well it sound. I recently discovered Chorus which they're bigger. Looking through FB marketplace there's a seller with a pair of Fortes ii ( recapped and ti tweeters) for $850 (one hour away from me). Also there's another seller with a pair of Chorus i (all stock) for $1,600 ( three hours away from me). My question is am I going to notice a huge difference between speakers? Is worth it pay more for the Chorus i plus upgrades? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated! Thank you in advance Happy holidays! Edwin

Hi all! I’m right outside of Nashville looking to buy a center for my heritage setup. I’ve seen people on here that have built a 3-way center with a mid and tweeter taken from either a Heresy or Cornwall donor. I’m super interested in a build like that! If not I’m looking for an academy or KV-4. I’m running Cornwall L/R and forte 2 surrounds and a KV-3 center in my 5.1setup. Right now and it sounds pretty good, but for those of us that frequent this page, pretty good ain’t gon’ cut it! Thanks in advance! Bobby Bobby 2 2 Times Times!

Hello! I am trying to decide between buying a pair of klipsch forte 2 that the seller says have "recapped crossovers and updated tweeter diaphragms" for $800 or a pair of rogers studio 1s for $700 they both appear to be in fantastic condition littles scrapes but other than that they look great. Has anyone heard both speakers to help me decide?

Attached are two crossover network schematics of the Forte I and Forte II I found on the Klipsch forum. I assume these to be accurate. Note that the circuit topology is identical for both and with the exception of the inductor in the tweeter filter, all passive components differ only in value. Note also that on the Forte I schematic that the squawker is wired with inverted polarity but not the tweeter. On the Forte II schematic the tweeter is wired with inverted polarity but not the squawker. Can anyone explain the following: 1. Why invert either of the two drivers in the two Forte models? 2. Why was the squawker inverted on the Forte I and the tweeter inverted on the Forte II? I looked at a dozen or so Klipsch crossover networks posted on the Forum and found a few networks with driver polarity inverted. AL-2: squawker and tweeter AL-3: curiously, all drivers wired "normally". Heresy II: tweeter inverted Obviously, changes in drivers or network topology may dictate the necessity of inverting the polarity of one or more drivers to achieve a more uniform frequency response. But I find it curious that the Forte I and Forte II inverted different drivers in the two respective models. Lee

Big hello to all you KlipschManiacs out there, I've finally gotten my main 2 Channel system narrowed down and ready to really dial in. Currently the main system consists of Forte II's backed up with two REL T3 subwoofers to tackle and tighten the bottom end. They are driven by a Pass Aleph 30 (30 WPC) solid state amplifier connected with Soniquil speaker cables by Raven Audio and a Soniquil power cable to the amplifier section (plug #6) of an Audioquest Powerquest 2. For volume and switching duties I'm running a Classe' Audio Four Preamplifier to feed the Pass amp connected by Mogami Gold XLR's, connected to the Powerquest with a Cardas Cross power cable. For source components i have a Thorens TD 209, using Audioquest Evergreen RCA's (planning to upgrade) and Audioquest Saturn Ground Goody's, to connect to a Parks Audio Puffin, in turn connected to the preamp with Audioquest Evergreen RCA's (another soon to be upgraded interconnect). The Thorens is provided power by the powerquest and the Puffin is fed power by Furman Equipment For a CD/SACD source i'm awaiting an OPPO BDP-93 from another forum member (I'M STOKED, as i missed out on the Oppo offerings of the last 10-15 years). And finally, to the main point of this post, for a streaming source I utilize an Audioengine B1 Bluetooth Reciever/DAC connected to the preamp with Morrow Audio MA2 RCA Interconnects plugged into Furman gear for EMI/RFI filtration and clean power. The resolution and quality that the Audioengine gives me from Amazon Music HD and Ultra HD is nothing short of incredible. If you are not using a lossless audio provider for streaming music, like Amazon HD or Tidal, even for a mid-fi set up like mine you are doing yourself a great disservice. The quality is jaw dropping compared to streaming using any regular service. To that end I would like to know what streaming recievers and DACS you guys have experience with, and if there are any truly HIFI audiophile bluetooth receivers that are decently priced, (not looking to spend 1500$ 10,000$ 280,000$ like some audiophile gear can be) so looking in the 50$-800$ range. Also maybe a separate DAC that could take my AE B1 to the next level? Does anyone have any experience with the IFI Zen Blue? What about the Bludento BLT-HD? Is there an obvious unit that everyone here already uses and I'm just late to the party and need to be "enlightened"? Being able to pull from such a massive library like amazon music is an incredible convenience and while it won't replace my buying/collecting vinyl and cd's it is quite the way to demo music and access music with ease. Welcome to the 21st Century audiophiles! Also any thoughts/upgrade advice/suggestions on my system set up would be nice. My secondary system is Klipsch KLF-30's on a Yaqin MC13S (40WPC tube integrated) that i am currently gathering source components for. Thanks Guys! Rooster-
