  1. From other thread reads while I haven’t spent a lot of time on, my question. Seems a topic talked about quite a bit. Try to use matching series in a HT system. Myself, have never been into HT much. Just about anything would suit me fine in that aspect. Mainly I’m a 2 channel Klipsch hoarder. Along with being a tube fanatic. However ….. My last two (same day, different sellers) acquisitions were kg3.2 pair, kg2.2U single, SW-8 and Velodyne CT80. Second seller, picked up the KLFC7 black. I don’t think I will comment on the center other than the fact I didn’t look it over closely during the transaction. Rain and “ Klipsch talk” had me scurrying about, plus the second planned buy was still a good driving distance. The KLFC7 was picked up first. I will only mention “Cypress Tx.” as a hint. I will upload a photo of the simple repair I made to correct the screw-up or rather lack of. Also just recently picked up a pair of sequential #’d Heresy in fairly nice condition. Which leads me to this post. I plan on using my trusty old Denon AVR-889, KLFC7 center, Heresy for front surrounds, kg3.2 rear surrounds and the Velodyne + SW-8 subs if room permits. I’ve taken measurements and think I can squeeze both in the cabinet. My major concerns are, the Heresy’s will have to be placed on top of the Belles and the kg3.2 are too large for wall mounts, as I have now. Thinking if I had a smaller pair kg’s, would fit the bill. Even if I installed wall brackets and shelves the 3.2’s are still too large. So now I suppose I’ll be on the hunt for kg1, smaller footprint as I’d rather use the existing mounts. Any other options? All Klipsch please. And I always try to pick up used as I’m a tight assed sob. Lastly, the clutter on the left still has to be cleared!!
  2. Came across a set of 30's for the right price so I decided to attempt a ground up re- design in an attempt to finally squeeze from this speaker the bass it SHOULD be producing. Although I currently own a pair of KLF 20's and a pair of KLF 30's, I couldn't pass these up at the price point I STOLE them at. Planning to reinforce the cabinet to the tune of 1.5" mdf ( box-in-box) with all the proper dampening, insulation, bracing, etc. Cabinet re-tune, correct those useless ports, and in all likelihood will try a non-crites crossover custom built by Norman Cerveny Pro Audio. Will refinish the outer cabinet as well with unfinished wood veneer with many coats of Hi Gloss lacquer, haven't decided on a stain color yet. Although KLF 30 mods are fairly standard these days, Norm Cerveny will be doing these from start to finish since this will be more than a simple modification.
  3. I have inherited a pair of Legend KLF-30s but one of them is barely putting out any sound and it seems to be just from the tweeter. I confirmed it has a good sound signal from the receiver by switching speaker wires around plus I looked inside the enclosure by removing the crossover assembly and do not see any loose wires. They have been in climate controlled storage for 3 years and have been moved only once or twice after initial installation so I don't think it got dropped so as to dislodge a connection but something is broken. I see Crites offers a cross-over repair kit for $80 as well as replacement crossovers for $280 a pair. Is that a good way to go? I am not going to keep them as they are just too big for our place so if I can just solder on a new capacitor from a Crites repair kit that would be fine with me but that seems too simple to be true. I am no technician so I guess I need a repair guy in Houston - anyone no of a good shop? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
  4. I have a pair of medium oak KLF-10s for sale - local pickup. $225 for Forum members. They are functionally in great shape. There are some plant circles on the top from the previous owner and a few scratches. The grills are in great shape with badges. Let me know if interested and I can take more pics or answer any questions. Thanks, Brian
