  1. I have a pair of R-15 pm speakers that hum wth any line or phono input. I returned a pair to the manufacturer and the new ones are doing the same thing. I just moved to a new place and am wondering if it could be the old wiring in the house? I plugged up smaller, cheaper speakers to my turntable and didn't have the issue. It's just my Klipsch speakers. Any suggestions?
  2. See movie attached.. Is the power amp bad? Does not matter if the input cable are connected or not. klipsch.mp4
  3. Hello Klipsch wizards! Looking for some insight on a pair of Heresy's that I stumbled on. No joke, these were found in a dumpster and I had no choice but to rescue them. They are in surprisingly decent shape, but after giving them a test drive, there are issues with the woofers. They still sound decent with low volume, but one of the woofers has a bit of a knock/click/rattle when given some extra volume, and the pictures can explain. It's as though the cones in the woofers have sagged? twisted? over time. One worse than the other (the black one). Not to mention, the history tells an interesting story. The two woofers are obviously different, but very similar at the same time, marking wise. One with a raw casing finish and soldered connections, and one with a black finish with obviously newer wiring connections. I want to do this the right way, so the question is: 1. Are these in the category of sending off to be re-coned by the appropriate shop? (I could use some advice on said shop near Indiana) OR 2. Are these in the category of looking into full replacement woofers? Please let me know if additional info is needed, but thank you all in advance for any helpful input! Heresy Photo's -PC
  4. Update. Got the same answer from Klipsch Norway as from the store where I bought them. The speakers have been played too loud with an amp not in total control Have had these for some years now and always had the frontgrill on the speakers. When I recently removed them I see these marks on the drivers/elements. Most on one of the speakers and a little on the other. It looks to me as the marks could have come from some loose small objects inside the speaker as they look pushed from inside, but I know that is not supposed to be possible. I have spoken to the guys at the store and one told me it could be that the speakers have been run to hard with an amp not in total control of the bass. I hear no difference in sound, the speakers play well. I have used an Emotiva pre and amp Xpa3. I have not played that loud but maybe the kids have. 😊 Have any other experienced similar?
  5. Hello everyone, this is my first post ever. ( You can skip the next two parts, and read just the Question ) [Intro] My name is Vasilis, I am 26 years old, living in Greece, and I'm a fairly new Klipsch user, and basically a new user of Home Audio in general. Other than some average "pc speakers" I never had anything special. I really wanted to build my own Home Theater though, so after a lot of thought and digging up posts and reviews I concluded that Klipsch is for me, for several reasons. [Info] 5 Months ago I started building the system, and my first buy, were the Klipsch RP280Fs alongside the AVR. I was pretty stunned by the results I got, but obviously I could not stop there. I would like to expand the system, until I ultimately reach a 5.1 or 7.2 setup. As I am not rich though, and these speakers are really expensive here in Greece, I buy the parts one at a time, or two if they are a set like fronts or rears. [My Question] Yesterday I bought the Third part of my Home Theater Audio setup. The Klipsch R-115SW. I've tried it for several hours, and can honestly say it's impressive. I love the sound. And I don't think I ever heard bass that low in my life. That being said, I found out that the LED Indicator in the front side of the Subwoofer is not lighting up. The sub is connected to the AVR using one RCA cable connected to the L/LFE input, and I use the "Auto" power mode. I also tried setting it to ON. Still no LED. Other than the LED the unit seems to be working perfectly. At least I think so. Knobs for Amplification and Filter work, the Phase switch works, and the sub is clearly producing sound. Is this LED going to cause any problem ? Or does this indicate that I need to return it? Because if the problem is just that (the LED) I don't really care. I will not return a 35kg subwoofer just because the LED does not work. But just in case I wanted to ask you since someone in here might know a bit more than me. Thank you very much in advance. I am looking forward to your answers. I can post pictures or a video of the setup if you wish.
  6. My ProMedia 2.1 system sometimes works fine. Other times when I power it up, it doesn't fully get there. In this case, the power indicator light doesn't come on and there is light crackling/noise that is not affected by the volume knob. Occasionally, the system overcomes its power up problem and finally kicks in, usually with a good low end pop. Again, this is not all the time, just occasionally. When it works, it works great. When it doesn't, it's pretty stubborn and won't power up until its ready. Thoughts?
  7. Our Sub 10 has started making a noise that appears to be in the speaker itself but from reading posts, I now feel it may be the amp. I realize that this is very broad and was wondering if recording the sound it makes could help determine if it is the speaker or the amp? The rubber surround on the speaker appears to be perfect.
