  1. Hi, this is my first post to the community. I currently have a Denon AVR x2300w, with Klipsch R-14m L/R fronts and a Klipsch R-100SW 10". The R-14m's with R-100sw 10” sub are just too lacking for 2 channel music. I always expected to upgrade them when I bought them on sale. They can be a little harsh at even mid volume. I like a mix of music but def old and new rock, blues, electronic. Soft and Loud. I like mid-high volume typically. System is in a room 11x20. So i sit facing the long wall about 9-10 feet back. I am trying to decide between RP-5000 and RP-6000, or possible RP-600m and will continue to use the sub. I’m also interested in the RP-250f or RP-260f, since they are at a discount now and seem to to be similar, though I haven’t heard any of them. I think I’d prefer the floor standers. I have a center r-250c, and plan to use the R-14’s as tear surrounds for movies , or 2 channel in my office above my desk. I mostly stream hi res on Qobuz, and listen to vinyl utilizing the pure direct mode, so no processing just speaker placement and crossovers. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Hello, Ikm New to this forum. Im looking for the integrated amp for Klipsch RP-250F. Was looking at Yamaha s701 (801), marantz pm8005 Nad C368 as possible options. Marantz and Nad are rated 70 W in 8ohm while Yamaha is 100w. But heard that Marantz and Nad sound is superior. Any suggestions are very wellcome! thank you!
  3. I am looking for a amplifier for klipsch rp-250f and found Yamaha MusicCast R-N602. https://dk.yamaha.com/da/products/audio_visual/hifi_components/r-n602/index.html Will it be good enough for powering the klipsch rp-250f? Thank you!
  4. Hi all, Proud new owner of a brand new set of RP-150m bookshelf speakers paired to a Denon X520BT. Having “ascended” from a 10yo 50€ Hercules 2.1 “system”, I am ecstatic about the new system, it just sounds brilliant, also having had a great deal on both (300€ for the speakers and 150€ for the AVR). Being a complete novice in home audio systems, I’ve been silently rocking back and forth between here and AVSForums, and want to thank all of you for the amazing amount of information available. The following questions remain unanswered though, and I would be very happy to have some feedback. The RP-150m have a sensitivity of 93 dB at 1 meter (correct me if I’m wrong, but 93 dB is quite loud isn’t it?), which as I understand it means that they generate an SPL of 93 dB with just 1W of power. I usually sit close to the speakers (a foot away actually, they are correctly positioned as back channels but are connected as fronts now; I would also add that the system is calibrated for a listening position 10 feet away). As a result, I play them at a very low level, which I suspect is way below 93 dB, closer to say 50 dB. Does that mean that at that level, they are using much less than 1W of power, and if so how much power is being drawn from the AVR? In a more general terms, how would one calculate the power drawn from the AVR? By measuring dB levels and using the sensitivity and logarithm function? The context is also that I am planning on complementing them with a pair of RP-250F floor standers, a RP-250C center channel and a R-110SW (or R-112SW). The monitors will be the back speakers. Will the floor standers really improve music restitution in 2.0? What about music in 5.1, are the processing algorithms good (I am aware of this also being a subjective issue)? And more importantly, I think that this AVR is powerful enough for achieving moderate listening levels on the complete set, do you concur? Expected usage scenarios are music 70% and movies 30%. AVR specs: Power Output (8 ohm, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.08% 2ch Drive) 70 W Power Output (6 ohm, 1 kHz, 0.7% 2ch Drive) 90 W Power Output (6 ohm, 1 kHz, 1% 1ch Drive) 130 W Cheers! Rami
  5. I just purchased, unpacked, and inspected my new pair of RP-250F speakers yesterday and observed that inside one of the speakers rear port, the white insulation material was loose and covering the port. See attached picture. Should I return speaker for replacement ?
  6. Hey All, Finally got my Klipsch 5.1.2 HT ready to roll. I purchased the following and loving it so far. Klipsch RP-250F Fronts Klipsch RP-250C Center Klipsch RP-150M Surround Klipsch RP-140SA Atmos Klipsch R-112SW Subwoofer Pioneer Elite VSX-LX301 I was wondering what the optimal crossover point. I have everything set to 80hz right now. I don't feel much movement from the 5.25" drivers. Is that normal? Does anyone suggest a better crossover for these speakers? Thanks Drew
  7. Hi there, a bit of help would be greatly appreciated. Just recently bought my first real speakers. After a quite a lot of research I ended up buying a pair of RP-250F's. Now I'm looking for a good AV Receiver to match them (I'll add more speakers in time). The main use for me will be listening music in stereo. Mostly CD's, LP's. Wifey wants spotify and kids need video and gaming features so can't just buy a stereo receiver. My choice is between Yamaha V681 and Denon X2300. I've heard that Yamaha is more 'musical' but also bit on the 'bright side', where as Denon is more 'warm' and 'laid back'. Which of these would be a better match for these Klipsch speakers?
  8. I Own a Pioneer Elite SC-63 receiver. I recently purchased a set of RP-250F floorstands for my front left and right channel. I use the R-10SW sub, a Polk audio RM8 Center (budget, junk) and 2 Polk RM8 satellites for surround (chose them for the bi-directional cones, and budget) overall, an introductory home theater with an adequate sound field. My receiver has a feature called advanced MCACC, where i simply plug in the provided sensitive microphone into the receiver, place it at center listening position at ear level, and the receiver does all the dynamic adjustments for acoustics, distance, channel volumes and so on. It does a great job with the distance and channel volumes. The receiver is capable of bi-amping speakers with such an option. I use the top poles of the floorstands with my left and right channels. (yes, I did remove the brass couplers). The receiver specifies that I use the surround-back channels to bi-amp the bottom poles of the floorstands. I'm almost certain I have this setup correctly. I've also went into the receiver menu and setup of the front L+R channels as bi-amp. the final setup for my HT after the full automation MCACC: Front left and right: Large, Bi-amped Center: Small Surround rears: small Surround back: supplemental Bi-amped Front high: not used Crossover frequency: 150Hz I have 2 LFE sub outs: I use one LFE out to the sub, the LFE is rolled all the way up on the sub, and the gain is rolled back to about 1/4-1/3 of the way from zero. (any more, and the automation complains that the sub gain is too high) my problem: Front channels set to large...Is this right, considering I'm bi-amping? and the crossover frequency set so high? 150hz seems high considering the capabilities of the floorstands. Also, will my rear surrounds suffer if I bring my crossover down to 80hz? I know the receiver is much smarter than me, however when I'm jamming to zepplin or frampton, I use the EX. Stereo option on my receiver. This in my opinion, creates the most magnificent sound field in my living room, but I'm afraid my satellites will suffer from the lower crossover frequency. I listen to music at moderately high, to holy shit volumes. P.S. When I watch a bluray, Such as The Avengers, or Dark Knight rises, I aim for sharing my home theater experience with the neighbors on the backside of my property. I want to experience the Hulk, smashing.
  9. Hello, The new Reference Premieres are slowly getting on sale in Germany, so I have not had a chance to see or to listen to any of them yet: If you have; How do they compare to the RF 62II? The RP-250F, so the smallest of the floor standers are priced roughly the same as the RF 62II. The RP-260F are priced slightly higher than the RF-82II anf the 280F somewhat higher than that and probably outside my budget anyway..... Sincerely Carsten Junge
